How did the roman empire change during pax Romania?
The Pax Romana followed the creation of rule by an emperor by Augustus which followed the civil wars which brought the Roman Republic down. The stronger system of government created by Augustus, where the central government had much better control over the provinces of the empire, worked well during the 200 years of the Pax Romana. There was political conflict, but it did not spiral out of control. There were political conspiracies against emperors, but this did not destabilise the empire and ways to ensure successions of emperors which maintained stability were usually found. Military conflicts over imperial succession occurred in the Year of the Four Emperors, but were small scale and got nowhere near civil war. Another factor that contributed to the relative stability was the decision to limit the expansion of the empire and to avoid conflict with other military powers after setbacks to an initial phase of expansion during this period.
The relative peace and stability provided by a stronger system of government created an opportunity for economic growth through a growth in trade. The empire developed an intensive and extensive trading network where goods were bought, sold transported and sold all around the empire and beyond. Rome also trade with Ethiopia, Arabia, Persia, India and China.
Why did Romania join the axis powers in World War 2?
During the Second World War, Romania tried again to remain neutral, but on June 28, 1940, it received a Soviet ultimatum with an implied threat of invasion in the event of non-compliance. Under pressure from Moscow and Berlin, the Romanian administration and the army were forced to retreat from Bessarabia as well from Northern Bukovina to avoid war (giving these territories to Russia). This, in combination with other factors, prompted the government to join the Axis

Was Romania damaged by World War 2?
Romania picked the wrong side in two world wars. In WWI they thought the Russians were doing well in 1916 and so joined with them. Romania was quickly overrun by German / Austrian troops and occupied for the duration of the war. In WWII, the Romanians thought they knew better. They sided with Germany from the start (what was the alternative? siding with Stalinist Russia was not really an option.) Germany assisted Romania in the war by proving military supplies and various trade. Romania provided most of Germany's natural petroleum supplies. Romania's military fought well alongside Germany's, on the Russian front. About 500,000 Romanian troops died here including large numbers in the Stalingrad campaign of 1942-43. The western allies bombed what parts of the country they could, but the long distances involved prevented the mass terror bombing perpetrated on Germany. After the war, Romania suffered like the rest of eastern Europe at the hands of the Soviets. The country was brutalized by Soviet occupation. Some territory was stripped away. A puppet pro-Soviet government was set up. Secret police terrorized the populace. Eventually the Soviets withdrew and Communism collapsed. The pro-Soviet leadership was disbanded or executed. The Romanians did extremely well out of WW1. They gained Transylvania, the Banat and several adjoining districts, the Bukovina and Bessarabia. The country doubled in size! They were in very good standing with the West because they suppressed the Bela Kun's Communist uprising in Hungary in 1919.

The United States wanted the nations of Eastern Europe to be independent, for a number of reasons. In philosophical terms, it is obviously a terrible injustice for the USSR to impose its rule on other nations without their consent. In practical terms, if the USSR can take over eastern Europe, it is possible that they will take over western Europe as well, and beyond that, they might eventually be in a position to take over the US. Even in purely economic terms, the US needs to engage in international trade, and the US is at risk of large parts of the world become captive of a hostile economic system that does not accept the free market. So there were several reasons for concern.

How was Romania involved in World War 2?
In World War II Romania fought on both sides. In 1939, it declared its neutrality, while assessing its options. However, due to the Hungarian occupation of Transsylvania, and the Russian occupation of Bessarabia (Bulgaria also took a small south-eastern slice of territory), it entered the war on the Axis side. -EDIT: That was NOT the reason for Romania entering the Axis side, Russia was on the Allies side and Romania was far superior to Hungary so their influence meant nothing. The Romanians joined the Axis side because they believed that was the right side.
On 23rd August 1944, the King took the power back from Marshall Antonescu and turned arms back against the Axis and sided with the Allies. Romania was occupied by the USSR, but did not loose its independence. Instead, it became a Communist republic in 1948.
