It differs from a traditional bow however, in that it can be drawn before it is needed and kept ready to use for a considerable period of time. Most crossbows sold today have about the same arrow speed as compounds: about 330 - 350 ft/sec.
While the crossbow is a bow, it offers a great advantage over Traditional bows. It should also be noted, so does the modern compound bow. In the 1970's there was a debate whether or not compound bows should be allowed for hunting. State-by-State, compound bows were allowed, and today more than 80% of all bow hunters use compound bows; this is an approximation, of course, as the use of Traditional bows (and arrows) has been increasing. Overall, the acceptance of compounds has been good for archery. Now with more and more crossbows being sold, crossbow hunters are asking why they can not also be included in the archery season, because compounds and crossbows have such similar performance.
The answer to that question is that the modern crossbow is so easy to use; some claim that it is more like using a rifle than a bow. Modern crossbows tend to incorporate the camming (the "wheels" at the ends of the bow-limbs) which makes the compound bow easier to use than Traditional bows.
The Chinese developed a repeating crossbow, where a new bolt would drop onto the rails of the crossbow each time the string (called a "cable", due to its thickness) was pulled back to the "ready" position (cocked, ready to use). The real trick would be to keep the bolt-hopper loaded - and have each bolt facing the correct direction in the hopper.
During the Middle Ages, the crossbow was taken to sometimes extreme designs. Weapons such as the Arbalest and the ballista are basically over-sized crossbows. What is the difference between a longbow and a crossbow?
The Crossbow bolt has more effect against armour at close range, but it is much slower to reload and has less range. As a mass of weapons the longbow is much more effective. Thus one crossbow is probably the better weapon, but if you had say 100 of each then the longbow is better because they could fire more shots at greater range. Certainly that's what Crecy in 1346 would suggest. The most skilled of the English Longbowmen could fire 8-10 shots a minute: the most skilled of crossbowmen could manage only 1 round every minute: most required a minute and a half to fire each round.
Although both has their strengths, as pointed out above, the reason the Crossbow became popular over the logbow is mainly because the crossbow was so much easier to use: it took years and years to become proficient in the longbow (English people started their training as young boys) while the crossbow could be mastered quickly: it was a matter of point and shoot. It was the considerable experience/practice vs little experience/practice requirements that eventually saw a more widespread use of the crossbow.

The best thing you can do when kissing is to be VERY aware of what your partner is doing. If he/she is less aggressive-she probably doesn't want you to be super aggressive. You can pick up A LOT of what someone likes by what they DO. Just relax and don't go crazy unless you can tell that she is feeling good about it. It's ok to test things, but again, if she responds by pulling away a bit or getting less into it, stop the thing you were trying.

When I hear "Java" I'm thinking of a JRE or Java Runtime Environment. (It's not the same as JavaScript, however, which our present question does not touch.) JRE supports (a) the writing of applications to run on several Operating Systems; and (b) applications that need Java in order to run. So, if you don't have Java, but need either or both to write or use applications that are supported by Java, why then it seems you'd need to install Java. On the other hand, if you already have Java, and are not sure whether to uninstall it, you will want to find out whether you need to write or use such applications. The first should be easy: just ask yourself if you need to write such programs The second... here's where I'd love some help editing the answer!
Temporarily and tentatively, you could (a) right click each application you suspect might use Java, choose "properties", and see when the program was last used. Some kinds of programs that use Java are those that show 3-D images from various angles, those that move images around a lot. Example, architectural design programs, and many games. (b) Perhaps also, you can poke around in the Java files, and see if you can find out when Java was last used. In any case, you can (a) set a "Recovery Point" (in Windows at least), and then use "Add/Delete Programs" to uninstall your Java program(s), and see if everything you usually use is still working. If not, you undo the change by restoring that Recovery Point. (I'm supposing you are at least moderately computer savvy and know what you're doing, or have a friend who is.)
Part of the decision depends on the benefits and drawbacks of having Java. Its benefits are many (see the web-site of the Java folks). Its drawbacks are its huge size and consequent use of much memory and much time for installing and for updating. (It was the huge updates that got me to find and ask the same Question we're editing now.)
