Where is the turn signal flasher on a 2000 Saturn LS2?

The turn signal flasher is actually integrated into the hazard button. No tools are (really) required to replace it. Just flip the a/c vents down on the center console, grab the space between them, and pull straight out; they are simply retaining clips so they can break off if your too violent. --Robert

How do you check trans fluid level Saturn 2001 wagon 4-cylinder?

It's called a "maintenance free" transmission, meaning that you shouldn't need to add fluid between changes... however, since it's a mechanical device, something always goes wrong.

There is a plug on the side of the transmission that also indicates the fill level. The transmission fluid should be filled to that level. Just make sure you're removing the right thing; no point in causing permanent damage.

How much would it cost to change a timing belt on a 1997 Saturn?

In 97, Saturn did not make an engine that used a timing belt. The timing belt was only used on the V6 "L series", and the L series was not built until after 2000. All Saturn's built before 2000 were "S series".

However, if you need to replace the timing CHAIN, that requires that the engine be pulled from the vehicle and the front housing must be removed. To replace the timing chain you must turn the engine to #1TDC, align the camshaft timing holes with the alignment hole in the head. Note that there may be two camshafts, so that means both must be aligned.

After the camshaft and crankshaft are locked at #1TDC, remove the chain tensioners, sprockets and chain.

NOTE!!! the left tensioner has a piston actuator that keeps tension on the chain, when you remove it a spring will fly out and you may not be able to find it. Be careful! You can push the piston in and lock it by putting a wire or small drill bit through the retainer hole so the piston and spring won't fly out. It's helpful to do that when you're putting it all back together, since it keeps tension off the chain, making it easier to put it all back together.

The sprocket(s) for the camshaft(s) is (are) bolted on, while the sprocket on the crankshaft should slide off, but you may need a puller.

It gets a little more difficult when you're putting the new chain and sprockets back on. Make certain that the crankshaft and camshaft are properly aligned when you are putting it all back together, and put the tensioners back on AFTER the new chain and sprockets are installed.

Only remove the wire or bit from the tensioner AFTER everything else is in place.

It MAY be possible to do the job without pulling the engine, but it's not recommended.

Good luck.

How to Turn off service oil light in a 2002 Saturn?

There is a reset button in the fuse box under the hood on the drivers side. Open fuse box and look for the "reset" button. Turn ignition switch on, hold button in for approx. 10 seconds. If change oil light reset was successful, the oil change light will blink for a few seconds.

Where are the fuses for shoulder belts on a 1993 Saturn?

they are behind the panel on the passenger side of the console on the back of the panel it shows the # 5 and says Igni..... when the fuse blows it affects the seat belts the speedometer and odometer and the tac at least on mine it does and I am trying to gind out why mine blows fuses all the time Those seatbelts are also called passive restraints and some of the saturns have their own fuse for those. They will blow fuses if starting to seize up. They need to be lubed as part of an ongoing maintenance with something like wd40. The fuse for the seatbelt motors is located on the interior fuse panel on the fuse marked PREST. That fuse protects nothing else on the car. And no other fuse but that one is for the automatic belts. All 1991-1994's are this way. 1995+ went to fixed seatbelts.

Can you use regular antifreeze instead of dex-cool?

Despite the warnings from the manufacturer, yes you can use the regular "green" antifreeze instead of Dex Cool. BUT you must have the cooling system completely and thoroughly flushed before you switch.

No. Dex Cool was designed for modern engines and has specific protection packages within the coolant to protect the cooling system and components that the old standby green coolants don't have. The older coolant was designed for early to mid 20th century engines and the Dex Cool has better ingredients to work with the various metals and other products that make up our modern 21 century engines. The trick to getting the best performance from your Dex Cool with the fewest issues is preventative maintenance. Make sure the level is always full, keep air from getting into the system, DO NOT mix with other coolants, and replace every 3 years/50,000 regardless of what it says on the bottle. One can never remove ALL of the old coolant during a flush so recommending a "complete flush" before switching is useless. Any traces of the old coolant will cause issues with the new, so stick with the DexCool and just maintain it properly.

Example: My dads 1996 Monte Carlo required dexcool. He added the green antifreeze instead and his engine died about two weeks later. Once the motor was changed and the coolant flushed, all he used was green and hasn't had a problem since. It is not a good idea to mix the green with the dexcool! If all the dexcool is out of the system and only the green is used then it works fine.

What does the service engine soon light mean on a 2000 Saturn LS?

It means that anything from a malfunctioning sensor to serious engine issues But there is a quick and FREE way to find out EXACTLY what is wrong. You only need to take your vehicle to any Autozone, O'Riely autoparts, or napa, I personally would advise you to go to autozone if there is one near you, if you need a part for your car later they are the cheapest, easiest, nicest, and also lifetime warranty ;) But anyway just take your car to any of these locations and tell them you have a check engine light on and you would like them to check your cars computer which will be OBD2 standard "todays standard" and within seconds-minutes you will know exactly what is wrong with your car because the tester will read the error code that set off the light and display the problems and its all FREE ;) no strings attached, its a free service they offer, along with testing your battery and alternator. Hope this helps.

My 2003 Saturn L300 shifts hard?

A couple things can cause a computer controlled auto transmission to shift hard:

1. the speed sensor can be disconnected or not functioning properly.

2. the computer may have detected a transmission fault that caused the computer to put the transmission into "safe" operation mode. When it does that it causes a condition called "high line", meaning high hydraulic line pressure, which forces hard shifts in an attempt to save clutches that might otherwise be damaged if something is not functioning properly in the transmission.

Unfortunately, this is one of those situations that you'll probably need to take the vehicle to a specialist; either a transmission shop or the dealer.

How much does a car passenger window cost?

That depends on how much you want to spend.

A new window can be quite expensive, but a USED window can be relatively inexpensive and in general, a good way of repairing a problem.

Glass doesn't typically "wear out", so a used side window will function as well as a much more expensive new one.

I recently purchased a 1994 Saturn drivers side rear window for $35. It functions as well as a new one and after it has been installed, it's virtually impossible to tell the difference between new and used.

What does it cost to replace a fuel pump on a Saturn L 300?
