An oxygen sensor is bad when it is no longer performing inside a set of parameters that are designated and optimal. The oxygen operates in a very narrow window of voltage and provides feedback to the engine to adjust the air/fuel ratio to maintain performance and emissions. If the sensor is bad and returning poor data, the performance, emissions and mileage will suffer.

The engine has been rebuilt and someone didn't want to bore all of the cylinders and replace all of the pistons.

Actually come to find out, all saturn 1.9L engines are built this way in purpose due to problems with heat build up in cylinder 4. upon testing the #4 piston would seize up in the block once the engine hit 220 degrese. Re-boreing the #4 cylinder wall an extra .010 fixed the problem.

black exhaust indicates too much fuel or insufficient air in the mixture.

It may be a leaking or sticking injector, a blocked air filter or a sensor may not be functioning properly and the computer is sending more fuel to the engine to compensate.

engine covered with oil, stuck PVC valve or equivalent, build up of crankcase pressure blows out top oil under gaskets over engine. However white smoke indicates your 'burnin g' water, coolant, this sounds more like a cracked cylinder head,block, or blown gasket that is allowing oil to escape to the surface, but water to enter a cylinder and vaporise and escape with the exhause gas's, the catalytic converter is trying to burn the residue of the antifreeze and produces the smell. Your fortunate its not in the oil, as antifreeze gets sticky and will stick the rings or a piston. Sounds like a time to spend some money before it gets worse or bail out and replace the engine or car.

Open the hood.

Locate the electrical box next to the battery.

Remove the lid and find the button labeled "oil". It should be red.

Turn on the ignition key but do not start the engine. close the door but leave the window open so you can hear the inside of the car.

Press and hold the red oil button until you hear the door chime, that should take between 5 and 10 seconds.

Verify that the change oil light is out.

Actually the EGR position sensor is one of the more simple devices to change.

It is on the head, on the drivers side.

The EGR valve is about 3 to 4 inches diameter, and you should see a vacuum line or electrical line between it and a small device that looks suspiciously like a small solenoid. That's the position sensor. It just bolts in and the connections unplug, real simple.

The L-series manual shows 4 instances of this icon. If the light shows:

1) lines angled down = HEADLIGHT LOW BEAM

2) lines stright out = LIGHTS ON HIGH BEAM

3) lines broken (dots) = DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS

4) lines show verticle squiggle = FOGLIGHTS

A vehicle with a failed fuel pump will not start. But fuel pumps can have intermediate degrees of failure which can result in intermittent failure or low fuel pressure.

It depends on the year and model of vehicle.

In modern vehicles it is simple as finding the relay in the fuse and relay box under the hood and pulling out the bad relay and replacing it with a new one.

In older cars the relays are still under the hood but you will need a book for that car that gives the location you can also try finding that information online there are several good sites but as always the right information is not always free.

On cars or truck made in the 70's and early 80's most were big bulky, most were called solinoids do to the size.

GM located theres on the starter and all it takes is to disconnect the battery and take the starter off. loosen the two bolts on the solinoid pull off the old coil and replace with a new part.

Ford put theirs on the fender wall which side??? well that depend on what side they wanted to put the battery and the starter on. Look at the positive battery cable abd follow it back to a cylindrical device with two big bolts and one or two smaller bolts. The solinoid is held to the fender wall by two or three bolts so disconnect the battery and the disconect all the wires and then the bolts. Then just work backwards in order to put it back on.

Chysler had both types so you will have to look and see which one was used.

Buy aftermarket ones. They're only sold as a control arm assembly. See the first answer.

Just did this. What a pain. Had to use a torch to cut the bolts as the rubber grommet was seized to the bolt and it would not pount through. Good Luck.

I also had to do that, more of a pain than the amount of money i saved doing it myself. I used a torch, angle grinder and chisel to get mine apart. Went in easy though.

I just changed the relay on my 99 sc2. It is a standard shift and i found the relay by following the wires from the cluch pedal safety switch. But basically on the 99 it is up under the dash on the drivers side taped to the wire harness. It was covered in black electrical tape.

Where is a camshaft position sensor located on a 2002 Cadillac deville?

Not sure why the question was answered by a question for a different car but:

1. The camshaft position sensor for a Saturn S-series does not exist. The PCM may throw a trouble code for improper camshaft timing, or a faulty camshaft sensor when the electronic ignition module has malfunctioned. Saturn uses a dummy camshaft pulse generated by the ignition module to fool the PCM into thinking it has a cam sensor. The camshaft sensor circuit fails most often, resulting in poor performance, and trouble code indicators.

2. The camshaft position sensor for a 2002 cadillac deville is located on the driver side of the front bank cylinder head. If this were a cadilliac question form, i would have included a picture.

Do you have a check engine light? try getting that scanned if so. Had a problem with stalls as well, luckily the computer was able to tell me the MAP sensor was bad. Replaced and drove for a bit with no problem, but then it returned and the new code was the EGR sensor. Removed and cleaned and now it's MUCH better. This was an old used POS I got for $80 and with the amount of dirt and grime in the engine, I was shocked it started at all. This may or may not be any help, to each is own. Good luck hunting.

Try getting a wheel alignment; & checking if ur fender is loose and rubbing the tire its happening to me but never had the time to fix it.

pry up the cover from the outside of the handle and remove the 7 mm screws front and back

The brake pad clearance is quite close and sometimes turning will result in a light scraping of the brakes against the rotor. If that happens it's usually an indication that the brakes are worn.

A wheel bearing can also be worn and be most noticeable when turning.

Faulty CV joints can be noisy when turning as well.

If you have oversized tires or non-standard wheels the tires can rub against the fender.

Unfortunately, I can't give you any more specific information without seeing/hearing the vehicle.
