Where is the starter relay located on a 1999 Saturn SC1 3 door coupe?
The starter relay is part of the starter.
1996 Saturn ls2 has no reverse?
1. Saturn did not make the LS2 until 2000, you probably meant the SL2
2. If reverse is gone it's probably either the clutch pack or the valve body. Either way, you'll need to take the vehicle to a transmission shop.
Where is the EGR valve located on 1997 Saturn SC1?
Attached to the head, on the transmission end. It's a round thing with a few electrical connections.
What is the firing order for a 95 Saturn sl2?
this can sometimes be a confusing answer, I will try to clarify it as much as i can. According to Saturn timing specifications, the internal firing order for the Saturn 1.9L motor, both Single overhead cam, or Twin cam is as follows:
Left to right 1-3-4-2
If you are routing spark plug wires, and need to know the order of wires from the coils to the engine, the order is as follows:
Left to right 4-1-2-3
What starter interchanges with the 1994 Saturn s series models?

Where does the resistor switch for the ac fan blower go on a 1993 Saturn SW2?
If you are talkiing about the blower motor inside the vehicle it is under the dash pad and under the defrost duct
A crank sensor plate , is attached to the crank shaft . it has little notches in it , that
tell the ecu what piston is top dead center, sending the spark and fuel to the correct piston at correct time assisted by the cam senor which tells the ecu what position the valve is in.
Why would there be water in the engine block?
If your oil looks watery and milky, you more than likely have a blown head.
Get it checked -- you actually could do more damage to your car engine. Some cars also get a mositure build up in the oil that might be white or yellowish color if you don't get the engine warmed up all the way in the morning causing condensation to build up on the underside of the oil cap.
More than likely it is a head gasket, the type of vehicle and mileage would be helpful, however, some times to keep an older vehicle running for a short while, would be to loosen the radiator cap, lets the pressure off, but u definitly have a cracked head, block or blown headgasket.
How much work does it take to replace an alternator on a 1998 Chevy Malibu?
I recently replaced the alternator on my 99 Malibu. It is fairly easy. First loosen the belt using a 3/8 breaker bar on the belt tensioner. Using a 15mm socket, remove the bolt from the front and side plus a nut on the side/rear (use deep socket or wrench). Remove the single wire bolted to the back of the alternator and unplug the wire harness and the whole thing should be ready to remove. Installation is simply the reverse. With the right tools, it only takes 10-15 minutes.
How do you replace the alternator on a 1995 Saturn SL2?
Unfortunately this is a dirty job. You will need to raise the vehicle and support the front end as you will be working underneath for a portion of it.
You will need to pull the front right (passenger side) wheel. Than remove the 2 piece plastic inner fender pieces (mud guards). Be careful removing these as the locking tabs can break very easily.
Disconnect the battery.
From the right front where you removed the wheel and mud guards, you'll be looking at the bottom of the alternator which is directly under the power steering pump.
There is a plastic dirt shield over the back of the alternator, remove this. There are 2 bolts, one which is hard to find but working from the top down, rotate the power steering pump pulley so that it's on a hole and you can look through to the top bolt.
Remove the bolts holding it in place and lower down. Carefully remove the wires from the alternator, main battery wire (10mm?) and than a smaller one. Than you can pull the alternator out through the mud guard in the front right wheel well.
Reverse to install.
This job will take you roughly 45min - 1.5hrs.
Saturns are notorious for serpentine belt tensioner failures. Buy a replacement tensioner and belt from your local parts store(about $70.00). Jack up the right front of the vehicle (passenger side), remove the right front tire. Remove the two plastic splash guards from the inner fender well. With the splash guards removed, you will see the serpentine belt tensioner. Using a 14 mm wrench, turn the center bolt of the tensioner clockwise. The pulley wheel will move away from the belt. With slack now in the belt, remove the belt from all the accessories (water pump, alternator, air conditioner pump, etc). Using a 10 mm socket and wrench, remove the two bolts securing the belt tensioner to the engine block. Remove the belt tensioner and replace with new unit (Make sure you install it in the same position as the old one--you can install it upside down). Using a torque wrench, tighten the two bolts to 20-22 foot pounds of torque. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! The engine block is aluminum and you will strip the threads (a major repair). Now thread the new belt in the manner shown on the small diagram on the radiator cover. Turn the belt tensioner bolt clockwise and slip the new belt over the pulley. The repair is complete. the belt will not slip or become loose.
If it a Serpentine belt, the tension is held tight by and idler wheel. If is is not a Serpentine belt, then there is an adjustment to tighten the belt. All belts stretch over time. A belt that has stretched to the point that the idler can no longer keep it tight, needs replacing. Also if the belt has cracks or frayed cords it needs replacing. A non serpentine belt is adjusted by loosing the bolts holding the accessory in place that the belt drives. For instance the alternator. After loosing these bolts, you slide the alternator to remove slack in the belt. Then re-tighten the bolts when the proper tension is placed on the belt.
Where is the starter located on a 2001 Saturn?
on the back side of the engine ,by the fire wall and below the fuel rail
How do you replace an oil pan on a 2002 Saturn SL1?
I am doing it right now. I put it up on jack stands as high as they go. I drained all the oil. removed oil filter. I took off the right tire so I could access the plastic shield that protects the right side of the engine. Once I took that off I was able to access the two bolts that are inside the pulley wheel. Most of the bolts are easily accessible but the tricky ones have to be gotten to by removing the catalytic converter pipe and the bracket that are attached to the engine bracket. Once those are removed it is kind of clear sailing. It is just a huge oily mess to clean everything up so you can get the gasket silicone on and then putting on the new pan. Just make sure you are able to get the silicone on all the way around where the pan is going to bolt on or else you will develop a leak, once you are able to get the bolts tightened on you just have to put everything on the way you took it off. I am not finished with mine yet because I was trying to find a video of someone who has actually done it. I wasn't able to so I am doing it all by being careful.
Can b1 oxygen sensor stop Saturn from starting?
No. Fuel mixture and start up is Dependant on other sensors ECTS, IAT, MAP, and CPS. A no start situation may be the cause of a bad ECTS as this is most common. Replace with brass ECTS.
Where is the radiator cooling fan fuse in a 2000 Saturn sl2?
The fuse locations are generally under the dash, under the hood or under the rear seat. You can hotwire the fans to the battery to check their operation. Assuming they are fine, there will be a fuse and/or relay and/or a fan relay module that is usually mounted to the body down underneath the motor compartment in relative proximity to the radiator/fans.
most likely need to replace wiper motor. they usually have the intermitnant electronic card inside the motor housing and do not usually sell it separate. changing the whole motor box should solve your problem.
Why would a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire jerk when driving?
Have you checked your spark plugs and the leads coming from your ignition coil? If you replace them, do it one lead at a time so you dont mess up the firing order. Get your buddy to drop the wire down to you. Get a good safe jack. Its freaky down there.
If you find that the jerk is felt in the steering wheel, (the wheel is actually jerking in your hand), you may well have a broken strut mount. If this is the case, it can be dangerous and needs to be addressed .
