Is there a self defense law in Louisiana?

Yes, depending on the circumstances, of course. Mississippi has adopted what is generally called a "Castle Doctorine" or "Stand Your Ground" law. This gives citizens who feel that their lives are in immediate danger the right to "stand their ground". This applies to one's home or "Castle" (and in MS, one's private property-though one's vehicle is included, the circumstances under which deadly force is acceptable are debated). The issue is not nearly this cut and dry, for more info look at:

§ 97-3-15. Homicide; justifiable homicide; use of defensive force; duty to retreat. (3) A person who uses defensive force shall be presumed to have reasonably feared imminent death or great bodily harm, or the commission of a felony upon him or another or upon his dwelling, or against a vehicle which he was occupying, or against his business or place of employment or the immediate premises of such business or place of employment, if the person against whom the defensive force was used, was in the process of unlawfully and forcibly entering, or had unlawfully and forcibly entered, a dwelling, occupied vehicle, business, place of employment or the immediate premises thereof or if that person had unlawfully removed or was attempting to unlawfully remove another against the other person's will from that dwelling, occupied vehicle, business, place of employment or the immediate premises thereof and the person who used defensive force knew or had reason to believe that the forcible entry or unlawful and forcible act was occurring or had occurred. This presumption shall not apply if the person against whom defensive force was used has a right to be in or is a lawful resident or owner of the dwelling, vehicle, business, place of employment or the immediate premises thereof or is the lawful resident or owner of the dwelling, vehicle, business, place of employment or the immediate premises thereof or if the person who uses defensive force is engaged in unlawful activity or if the person is a law enforcement officer engaged in the performance of his official duties;

(4) A person who is not the initial aggressor and is not engaged in unlawful activity shall have no duty to retreat before using deadly force under subsection (1) (e) or (f) of this section if the person is in a place where the person has a right to be, and no finder of fact shall be permitted to consider the person's failure to retreat as evidence that the person's use of force was unnecessary, excessive or unreasonable.

All Americans should be able to own and use handguns in self defence Why?

Because the average response time for the police to arrive at the scene of a crime will usually allow them to find you dead or seriously injured. It's not their fault, just a fact.

Did Paul Vunak ever taught the Navy Seals self-defense?

Paul Vunak is still teaching Navy Seals, in fact we just lost one of our Seals Jesse from the chopper crash in Afghanistan (all respect to his family). The Seals come to use now, back in the late 80's Paul & Tom worked for 3 & half years in Virginia training all the teams. We have several seals training with us through out the month when ever their schedules work out. After sometime in Virginia Paul & Tom wanted out of there contracts with the department of the Navy, because the lifestyle there was getting old, so they got out early from there contracts. They were suppose to be there for 4 years, but they asked to cut there contracts short. The rest is history! I think it is funny when forums talk about Paul, they should train with him before saying negative things. Talking heads!

I want to go on a backpacking trip across the US but i wouldnt feel safe with just a knife and mace so is there a handgun or revolver that is legal in all continental us states?

A bigger problem than finding a suitable model would be the laws of each state and/or municipality regarding carrying a handgun. Many required various permits to own one and some states do not recognize another state's concealed carry permit. You need to map out your trip and check the laws in each state and municipality. Then you might determine what kinds of self-protection you can carry. Some places don't allow mace, either.

Are you allowed to punch someone for self-defense If so is there going to be punishments?

Why do men hit women?

First, don't pigeonhole all of us. We don't all do that.

Second, what you're talking about is an extremely complex matter. Generally, it's a display of power and control. Underlying causes... there've been whole books written about gender inequality, rape culture, etc.

My opinion of men who do this would be censored on this site, so I won't say it, but I think you can put two and two together.

What is a parry?

Can a teacher hit a student in the hand for self defense?

no, it's child abuse or assault

How do you make weapons in alchemy?

First you need the proper alchemy symbol either tattooed or on a glove on your hand. Now put your hands on the chosen material for your weapon. Focus on your hands and imagine that chosen weapon that you want. Now all you do is simply pull your hand away from the material and the weapon will take form (don't mind the choppy square pattern all over the weapon).

Why cant you shoot somebody if they break in?

How do you protect yourself when someone pulls a gun on you?

Call the Police and tell them your situation. As the answer above states, it is VITAL that you report it to the police. Not only will it then be on record, but they can also give you good advice on safety. Also, never go anywhere alone, and change your daily routine and your normal routes of travel. Keep pepper spray in your hand (not in your purse or pocket) anytime you are walking into or out of a building, or when you go outside at home. When you are home, make sure your doors and windows are locked at all times, just as they should be when you leave home. Also, every time you get back home, go around your house (with pepper spray in hand) and check all locks on all doors and windows for signs of tampering. Avoid isolated places such as parking garages, and try to park as close to buildings as possible. Keep your car doors locked at all times, whether you are in the car or not. Be aware of your surroundings at all times, and if you feel threatened at any time, call out for help as loudly as you can, and run as fast as you can to safety. Don't worry about feeling or looking foolish if it turned out to be a false alarm because there is no such thing as being too careful if you truly feel your life is in danger. You should also work out a 'code' with a trusted friend, family member, or a neighbor in case you do run into trouble. It can be something as simple as turning on the front porch light if you feel you are in danger. You could also come up with a code word that you could say to them to let them know to call the police if they see the front porch light on and call to see if you are ok.
