I think it is an unimaginable horror to have someone killed by a 'drive by' especially if they are innocent. Anyone killed by a 'drive by' is a tragedy and when you hear of an innocent person -- someone who has nothing to do with the gang activity -- killed by a 'drive by' it is utterly shameful.

I would like to know why the U.S. government has not tried imposing martial law over the area of say South Central Los Angeles. I think it has been established through past activity that the local law enforcement is unable to maintain public order and safety. I believe the problem is too big, martial law seems the answer.

The president of the United States should deploy a military engagement to this area. They should have tanks roll in and snipers in place, a logistical plan should be implemented to warn and defend the innocent; plenty of fair warning should be given in a gradual manner from months to weeks to days. Then when the time had arrived anyone still adament about engaging in this 'gang violence' should be executed by the snipers. This should continue for weeks or even months until this extraordinary rule of 'gangs' is eliminated. How could the government or the citizens tolerate some child being shot?! How could the government not say 'enough is enough'?? Well, I know there would be the excuses of freedom and persecution of people in a certain socioeconomic sector of society....and pulling the other way we have television shows 'gangland' on the History Channel or other shows of the like.

I feel we dealt with mafia and now their grip is much different. You don't make a tv show about it, its crime not a culture, although there are criminal cultures, it shouldn't be treated like entertainment.
