Is freedom of choice capitalism or socialism?
Under capitalism, most people have little freedom of choice, as they have to work for an employer. Socialism will provide much more freedom, without the coercion of the wages system.
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism". All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A. After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

What are some similarities between anarchism and socialism?
Both of these ideologies emerged in their modern form during the Industrial Revolution and both were critical of industrial capitalism and its accompanying political structures.
However, socialism is better thought of as an economic system and end-goal that various political ideologies (such as Democratic Socialism and Anarchism) aim to achieve.
In general, anarchism is juxtaposed with socialist ideologies that are in favor of using the state apparatus to transition to a socialist economic system. Anarchism is critical of the state in its entirety, arguing that the state is illegitimate and, as a product of capitalism, the state needs to be dismantled during a socialist revolution. By contrast, non-anarchist socialists argue that the state must be utilized by the working class in some capacity to safeguard a worker's revolution against counter-revolutionary groups, and to organize the effort to construct a socialist economy.
Democratic socialists tend to believe in the permanence of the state in any economic order, while Marxists take a middle ground where the state only has a limited role during the transition to socialism before making itself redundant and "withering away".
What was one crucial dispute that Leon Trotsky had with the Mensheviks in 1920?

Trotsky claimed that to move forward with the "revolution" that workers who did not cooperate would face military "justice". The Mensheviks were appalled at this.

Why does this country have socialists?
It depends entirey on which country "this country" is.
However, most countries have socialists because socialism defends the rights of the workers and the underprivileged against larger corporations and more conservative ideologues. In this way, it gives a voice and a power to those who otherwise would have no mechanism to fight for their rights. Socialists have largely been responsible for the establishment of labor standards, the creation and designation of national treasures, improving healthcare and access to medicine, and shifting the tax burden from a regressive tax on individuals to a progressive tax that targets corporations.
In the United States, however, it should be noted that conservatives tend to use the term "socialist" to tar opinions with which they disagree regardless of whether they actually are based on fundamental socialist policies to begin with. That is not to say that the US has no socialists, Bernie Sanders of Vermont is typically considered one, but Barack Obama, for example, is not a socialist, but a center-line Democrat.
IN WHAT do capitalism and socialism differ?
Capitalism allows for more freedom for businesses than socialism does
This question does not make sense, but if I had to wager a guess I'd say the person asking either wanted a list of the negative aspects of socialism or wanted to know why people oppose the idea of a social system designed to allow, at the very least, comfort and equality to all. I am not qualified to answer either of these questions definitively, but the first thing that comes to mind is the notion of motivation. As in, why would people be motivated to exel in their fields if they were not able to reap the rewards? People are selfish by nature, and if they didn't see what they were doing as benefitting themselves, why would they do it with any level of enthusiasm? Not that I dislike the idea, but it does not seem realistic to expect such a system to succeed.

Does socialism exist in South Africa?
Socialism is not practiced by the government of South Africa although certain policies may seem to reflect socialism. When the ANC took power however it realised that it will achieve very little by opposing the White population and bringing in a totally Black government into power.
We do have a communist party working with the ANC, and they are trying to implement it. But were not making it very easy for them. They also take the white people's farms and give it to black people for free. The also try to nationalize many things.

Karl Marx's view was that over the course of many decades capitalism would develop and mature and eventually it would become a burden to humanity in that it would no longer be viable as a system. When this time came, the working classes would organize politically and overthrow capitalism and establish a socialist state that will repress the former ruling class, the capitalists, and would rule on behalf of the working class and establish socialism. As time progressed socialism too would develop and eventually blossom in the shape of communism, a classless world without war, poverty and racism.
