The firing order for the 3800 series II is: Starting from front to back drivers side is 1,3,5 and passengers side 2,4,6. Electronic distributer cap will read: Again from from front to back 6, 3...5,2....4,1. Hope this helps. Information I gained on a 1988 V6 Ford 2.9 is that timing is set at 10 degrees before TDC with the engine warmed up. at idle, and with the sprout wire connecting plug removed so the computer timing advance is inoperative. The sprout wire is located in the loom of the large wire bundle coming from the distributor to the right side of the engine and is yellow in color, with two wires to the plug, either a round or square plug , with the plug simply connecting the two wires together , thus making a convenient disconnect to set the timing. The vehicle engine letter in the VIN is 'T' for this engine and timing setting. The firing order is 142536 with the rear mounted distributor turning clockwise.

The firing order for this engine is 1-2-3-4-5-6. The cylinders are 1-3-5 from left to right on the back head, and 2-4-6 from left to right on the front head. The coil pack is 1-4-6-3-2-5 from left to right when viewing from the front of the car.

You should take out the fans to get more room to work with, loosen the alternator to remove the belt covers. After this has been done, the crank pulley needs to be removed to get to the crank shaft markings for the timing. The timing marks for the left and right pulleys are dead center on the top, make sure to mark the positions on the pulleys and the notches. The crank pulley has a marking top dead center, and another marking counterclockwise that you have to match up. How to make that match up without moving the other two pulleys, I haven't a clue because no one else has answered this question. If someone else finds out, please add on to this.

The firing order is the sequence in which spark is sent from the distributor to the different numbered cylinders. there is only 1 firing order per engine, but each engine manufacturer may use a different one depending on how the engine is built. In example for a four cylinder Isuzu engine the firing order is 1,3,4,2 and the cylinders are numbered 4,3,2,1 from front to back, so as the distributor rotor turns the spark is first sent to cylinder 1 which is at the top of its compression stroke, then it goes to number 3 which is the next cylinder to reach the top of its compression stroke and so on. Remember all stright 6 cyl. engines fire in this order. 1-5-3-6-2-4 Just remember this 15 is to young- 36 is to old and 24 is just right. There are 2 possible firing orders for a 6 cyl. engine. The one stated above and 1-4-2-6-3-5. This was in use some years ago, but I dont know if it still is. In the sixties Ford in Europe used 1-2-4-3 for 4 cyl. engines.

The standard Ford 302 (5.0L) V8 firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 The Ford 302 HO firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

no timing spec at all due to used timing chain.

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6. Cylinders are located 1-3-5 on the back of the engine standing in front of the car and 2-4-6 on the front of the engine. The coil pack is 1-4-6-3-2-5 from left to right when viewing from front of the car.

change them one by one and matching up the length

take em out and put new ones in...

A haynes manual will have that. Find at your local auto parts store.

Buddy mack must be either a Advance auto or Autozone employee, or he doesnt have a clue as to what he is talking about.

Bosch plugs are crap for your Maxima. Take care of your Nissan properly and but a set of NGK plugs down in her, if you have boschs in now I gaurantee you will notice a difference straight away.

Put the bosch where they belong in a German made car or the garbage

The order of the ignition coil is 1 (one) to 4 (four) starting from the UPPER LEFT going CLOCKWISE to the UPPER RIGHT with the ignition coil connector facing RIGHT.

The order of the spark plugs is 1 (one) to 4 (four) starting from the FAR LEFT to the FAR RIGHT.
