Timing and Firing Orders

I have a 1997 Mazda millenia with the dist of a 626 the order is 1-2-3-5-4-6, counter clockwise. This should be the same for yours.

A formula to find power stroke for an 8 cylinder 4stroke engine would be RPM/2=power strokes per minute. A 2 strokenengine has twice as many power strokes as a 4 so RPM=power strokes. Since rpm is not given in the question, I can't tell you how many power strokes there are.

You can, like you can with anything else, but it will take a lot of custom work. The mounts might be different, plus the older engine didn't need to rely on a computer to work, but the newer one does. The jist of what I'm saying is, it's gonna be a lot work, and expensive to, so it's best just to find something different, unless you're really fitted for it and have plently of time and money to do the job.

The firing order on a 4.3L V-6 engine is 1, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. The distributor cap rotates in a clockwise direction.

The firing order should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2.

You don't jump any terminals. I'm assuming your talking about using the DLC. Hook a timing light to the number one spark plug wire and loosen the clamp bolt on the distributor a little. Timing should be a 36-38 degrees BTD.
