The firing order is 1,8,4,3,,6,5,7,2. The left bank(side) is 1,3,5,7, and the right bank is 2,4,6,8 starting from the front to rear.

I stand corrected, 1. Piston no1, at its highest point 2. The exhaust valve ready to be open(all valves for no1 must be closed) It works like this, one cyl goes through 4 stages: 1. in-take 2. compress 3. fire 4. exhaust ***we mainly know fire and exhaust there is a stage called TDC(Top Dead Center) that is what i wrote above. now to get your car running you must advance it acording to your specs for the car. in most case if you add something like 10-15 degrees. After setting all that, try to move the cam manually whilst listening to the engine for any funny sound that can be made by pistons hitting the valves. This means that you must fire before TDC +2784 5 627422 J MARIBA

You don't they are hydraulic. If they are noisey it means the tappets and cam have worn out and need replacing.

Make sure you buy a new cam and tappets together. Use lots of cam lube when assembling.

When you start the car as long as it starts ok Rev it to 2000-2500rpm and don't let it idle for 15-20mins. You can do this in 5min stages by switching the engine off in between. If everything has worked as it should then that cam should last you another two years of hard use (about 30,000miles) before the wear starts to slightly affect performance. I've heard of well looked after engines with very regular oil changes using good oil last over 100,000miles.

The CVH is a high cam wear rate design but cams are quite cheap and easy to replace. You don't need to remove the head and its should only take a few hours.

The timing may be all over the place if a distributer is used. Set it to its middle position and then set it properly when your done uing a timing light. 8btdc for 95 unleaded and 12btdc for 97 ulnleaded

The MODEL A engine firing order is 1,2,4,3, which means that the front cylinder fires first,then the second cylinder,then the fourth cylinder,the last the third cylinder.

"No Sonoma in 1992, It was called S-15", is not true. i have a 92 sonoma, the owners manual calls it a sonoma, all of the badges call it a sonoma, and the sticker on the drivers side door calls it a sonoma. it was built in 10/91 which makes it a 92. the trucks were allready being called "sonoma" in 92 but is true that the distributor rotates clockwise on all engines. 2.5L --1-3-4-2 2.8L --1-2-3-4-5-6 4.3L --1-6-5-4-3-2

When replacing spark plug wires.

As with all Dodge truck V6's, the cylinder numbers are 1-3-5 front to rear driver's side and 2-4-6 front to rear passenger side. The firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2 and the distributor rotates clockwise.

Four full tucks should be put in an Admiralty Eye Splice before removing the outer layer of the strands and doing a further two tucks with the cores. This tapers the splice. Cut off the strands and outer cores with about 2cm sticking out from the splice to prevent them slipping when the eye is under tension. Parcel and serve with a heavy grease.

On a V-8, it is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, small or big block
