The P1135 is set when the Engine Control Module detects a heated oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction. This could be caused by a faulty air-fuel ratio sensor or a faulty engine control module.

I have the same problem, going to have a locksmith make sure its the ignition switch and cylinder and just not a key problem or a tumbler problem.

Yest, the Buick LeSabre from 1992-1994 is the same exact car, inside, outside, underside. Everything is identical, except say for the trim packages and options you get on them. Therefore, yes the cassette radio from a 1992 LeSabre will work in a 1994 LeSabre.

Check your fuel vapor canister. this is a charcoal canister that collects your fuel vapors and redirects then through your engine to burn. when the canister fails you will get a strong fuel odor from the vehicle. It is located in the front area of your vehicle.

I thought a full tank would help but after I filled the tank, the problem has WORSENED. Its very difficult to start it now as it knocks like crazy. The car idles smoothly sometimes esp. before engaging the drive gear, after that it simply stalls. If the filter is clogged then the car would not start at all. Right? Please suggest. Hi, I just saw this and thought I could offer some help as I had removed my starter relay and made some repairs to it. It is fairly difficult to find: Push your driver side seat back and position yourself so your head is looking up underneath the stearing column (the top of your head should be pointing at the brake pedal). Look just to your right of the stearing column, its up a far way. For me it was a small grey box. If you've found it, now you need to remove it, which is just as difficult as finding it. I believe there is some sort of clip mechanism that holds it there, you need something to push that clip in and the cartridge should slide off (mine was stuck on there pretty good). Now that you have it off you probably want to fix it, I just cleaned it up and scratched off some of the corrosion on it and it worked fine from then on. Note: these directions took place on a 92 Honda Prelude SR so no guarantee they are the same for all models. Good luck. ~Morgan

You got to drop the tranny and gearbox and get in there. After that its cake. Watch out for that top tranny housing bolt as its not what you think...12mm inverted 6-point , or whatever you call it. I found out the HARD way. The book doesn't tell you and neither does the dealer.

the upper 2 bolts are inverted torx. E12 is the socket that fits perfectly.

I'm going to assume that you refer to a connecting rod in the engine. Unfortunately, this isn't an easy task to undertake nor a cheap one to pay for. If the connecting rod snapped it may have caused unrepairable damage while being spun as the crankshaft turned. You should be able to see this by removing the oil pan (and perhaps pump) and inspecting the inside of the engine block, pistons, and crank.

If you've beaten the odds and there is no damage, it may be possible to replace a connecting rod with the engine in the car; I do not know. If it is at all possible, it will be difficult. If you're up for the task, try it yourself. If you're targeting paying a mechanic to do this, it may be cheaper to install a new engine. You'll have to talk with someone with far more experience with this car than I to get a confident answer.

If the connecting rod broke or a bearing spun due to insufficient oil flow/pressure than I would not consider simply trying to replace a rod or bearing.

In any case, if you have a broken or damage connecting rod, the costs will not be cheap. You might be able to swap in an engine from a junkyard yourself for less than .00 dollars or you may pay a mechanic to swap in a brand new turnkey style engine and the cost may be .00 dollars. Most likely, if you choose to pay a mechanic to swap a new engine in. Expect a bill of at least .00. If you pay a mechanic to change the connecting rod, you might be able to get away with .00. However, this may not be possible or feasible.

P.S. If it wasn't a connecting rod that is damaged then ignore what I said. If the connecting rod didn't snap, also ignore it.

The starter is attached by 2 bolts.

First, unhook the battery.

Next, the thing to the left of the battery holder is the cruise control. You need to move that out of the way to give you room to work.

There are 2 bolts on the starter. Try to soak with WD-40 to loosen them up. If you can loosen both bolts with a wrench or rachet set, unhook all the wires attached to the starter and remember where they came from.

The new starter will bolt on the exact same way.

Reattach the wires and put back the cruise control and battery holder, as well as the battery.

These bolts could be stipped if you dont use high quality six sided cup. If they in the process they are stipped get Craftman extractor cups which work flawlessly and install new high grade bolts with washers. These extractor extract the bolt instantly and extremely easy.

Shut off the car with the odometer showing the "Trip A".

Then, while holding down the reset button, turn the ignition to the "On" position. There will be 6-7 lines showing instead of the odometer numbers, and they will disappear one by one.

Keep holding button down. Then all "0's" will be displayed, and finally it will show the mileage.

Reset complete.

Been wondering that myself for years. I was just looking under my hood for an unrelated issue and it made the noise. I can't be sure the exact source of the sound, but I believe it came from something associated with the ABS system (according to the markings on the component the sound seemed to have come from). The mystery continues...

This happened to me today on a major highway. The Ford garage told me it is a transmission problem. Check transmission problem solutions here in this blog. Solenoids, etc. It means your transmission is slipping, that happens in a lot of mercury mystiques. not all true there is a throttle position sensor or T.P.S. on your throttlebody try that its way cheaper than transmission

This code is generic and is the same on all vehicles. P0420 = Catalyst System Efficiency Below ThresholdCatalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold. This means that the secondary O2 sensor detects that the catalytic converter isn't working as efficiently as it should. This engine code can be triggered by any one of the following:

1.) The catalyst in the catalytic converter is cracked, clogged, or otherwise damaged.

2.) The secondary O2 sensor is malfunctioning.

3.) There is an exhaust leak.

4.) The computer unit is faulty

Remember K H D | d c m (kilo, hecto, deka, (liter, meter, gram), deci, centi, milli). These are the denominations you need to list when converting metric units. Milliliters are three places to the right of liters. So you have to move the decimal place three times to the right (same as multiplying by 1000). You will get 3.4 L = 3400 mL.

first, check behind each of the tires to make sure the ABS wire is connected to the hub assembly (a wire comes from the engine and plugs into a clip on the hub). if that doesnt work see a mechanic. is the "anti-lock" light on as well? i have this problem. one of my ABS wires lost the clip so i need to get one from the junk yard. Is the car sputtering? it can also be problem with engine. Mine would come on when I had a problem with my injector.

Which Indicator?

Does your information center disappear when you try to crank. Do you hear anything happening when you try to start? You should hear the starter solenoid operate. A low or bad battery or the connections cause poor battery connection and poor charging also. Spray WD40 on all connections. Head lights work? - NO? Look at battery. Yes? Look at the 12 volts that must feed the starter solenoid when the ignition is turned to start. A cheapie voltmeter is a real useful detecctive in these type of problems.
