How do you replace the fuel pump on a 2000 Toyota Echo?

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. Thanks to some good engineering it is easy to change. First remove the back seats. when the bottom seat is removed you will see the access plate on top of the fuel tank. Remove the screws and you will have the fuel pump and filter assy. together as a unit. Now becareful and be sure to have the windows down because the contents of the fuel tank. the gas. will be exposed, I always have a fuel pump go out with a full tank of gas. I got my pump at Autozone because it has a lifetime guarantee. The plastic fuel filter will have to come from the dealer. No need to explain the pump r&r, you will see how to just by looking at it.

Where is the mass air flow MAF sensor in a 2000 Toyota Echo?

Answer

The MAF sensor is located on top of the air box, the black plastic box on the right side of the engine. (If you're facing the car.) It is held in place by two little screws and has a wire harness clipped to it. If your check engine light is on and your car hesitates especially when cold, your MAF sensor may very well need a good cleaning. You will do so by using a spray can of break or carb cleaner. On the bottom of the MAF sensor, you will notice a deep hole in the bottom of which are two little wires. You might have to use a flashlight to see them especially if they are actually dirty. Spray some cleaner down that hole until the wires become shiny and, if available, also shoot mildly with compressed air to dry and completely flush out dirt. Reinstall unit and if you notice improvement on performance, you will likely see your check engine light go off in the next drive cycle.

Guys, let me tell you that this worked great. It fixed my problem right away. My car was running bad (like in 3 cylinder's I did this plus removing the negative pole on the battery and it cleared the check engine.

Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank1 Sensor1)

* DTC Detecting Condition # When the heater operates, heater current exceeds 2 A

(2 trip detection logic) # Heater current of 0.2 A or less when the heater operates

(2 trip detection logic) * Trouble Area # Open or short in heater circuit of heated oxygen sensor # Heated oxygen sensor heater # ECM HINT:

* Bank 1 refers to the bank that includes cylinder No.1. * Sensor 1 refers to the sensor closer to the engine body. * Sensor 2 refers to the sensor farther away from the engine body. INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:

Read freeze frame data using TOYOTA hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool. Because freeze frame records the engine conditions when the malfunction is detected, when troubleshooting it is useful for determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, the engine warmed up or not, the air-fuel ratio lean or rich, etc. at the time of the malfunction.

Why does my Toyota Echo have rough idle with air conditioner on?

Check the basics first (air filter, belts, plugs) but the most likely cause is dirty throttle body or mass airflow sensor. You can easily clean both on your own although MAF sensor should be replaced after 100,000 miles. Throttle body can be cleaned with Seafoam penetrating lubricant and a toothbrush or wire brush.

You may also want to test the alternator (Toyota calls it the generator)

What is fix for Toyota Echo p0440 p0441 p0446?

Open the hood, look at the airbox, on the left hand side there is an electronic valve with two hoses connected to it but I bet that the rear hose of the two has pulled off. I get the codes p0441. p0442 and p0446. As mentioned at the above comment, the rear hose was disconnected. just reconnected it erase codes and all is fine. thanks a lot for the suggestion.

What brakes does a 2002 Toyota Echo have?

Not sure what you are asking, but it has disc brakes in the front, and drums in the back. If you want to know what specific pads to buy, just go on any online site that sells auto parts, and it will ask you for your model and year, and show you what fits...

Where is the ac compressor control relay on a Toyota Echo?

On a 2002 (which I just happened to be looking at a few minutes ago, the fuse box is on the driver side of the engine compartment, up high, just a few inches back from the headlight.

According to the lid of the fuse box, the A/C compressor relay is the middle relay of the three light colored relays that are lined up at the front of the fuse box.

In my case, I have no power to any post on the relay when the key is in the Run position. In fact, I have no power in any part of the A/C system so far as I can tell, so I am trying to sort that out without benefit of a wiring diagram.

How does echo sounding work?

Echo sounding is the technique of using sound pulses directed from the surface or from a submarine vertically down to measure the distance to the bottom by means of sound waves.The distance is measured by multiplying half the time from the signal's outgoing pulse to its return by the speed of sound in the water which is more or less 1.5 km/s.(the speed of sound in water may slightly change by the factors of pressure, temperature and salinity).

The formula is:

D = 1/2*t*v

where:

D = distance

t = time in seconds

v = velocity in m/s

How do you change a 2001 Toyota Echo balljoint?

I just replaced the left front balljoint on a 2000 echo. The balljoint had to be purchased attached to a frame assemble. Dealer part $300. Bargin Parts place $90.00 . Jack up the front of the car, support with jack stands, remove wheel . Remove two large bolts (one vertical, and one horizontal ) that hold the frame assemble to the frame. Remove small nut in the middle of the frame assemble that is attached the the stabilizer bar (or sway bar ). Remove the nut from the balljoint .Tap or pry the balljoint down out of the back of the brake assemble. With the balljoint now hanging down use a small pry bar to remove the entire frame assemble. When installing the new part finger tighten the VERTICAL Bolt first , then the HORIZONTAL Bolt then the stabilizer and last the Balljoint nut. Then go back and tighten everything up. DoNot forget the cotter pin in the Balljoint nut. Be careful not to bump the axle as it can fall out of the tranny, be careful not to damage the boots .

Toyota Echo air conditioner?

A Toyota Echo air conditioner is designed to cool the vehicle. If the air conditioner stops working, it could be low on freon or the motor could have seized.

A blue light shows up on our 2003 Toyota Echo when you turn the car on and stays on for roughly 5 minutes before disappearing. What does this mean?

It means your engine is cold and you should wait for it to go off before you gun it on the freeway

Exactly, it means it is a cold engine light, it will disappear after the vehicle is driven and warms up.

Where comes from a water deposit around the 2003 Toyota Yaris or Echo spark plugs?

The water could be coming from a coolant leak higher than the plugs on the engine. Look around the head for signs of any leak as it is possible that there is a head gasket leak.

How much does a Toyota Corolla weight?

Toyota Corolla does weights about (depends on a model and specs) 2,822 lbs or 1280 kilos.

How much weight can an Toyota Echo carry?

I don't think there is any definitive single answer to this question. Also keep in mind there is a big difference between towing capacity and payload capacity. Payload is the weight you add inside the car and trunk of the car including the weight of the passengers. The only number I've seen thrown out there for payload capacity supposedly comes from a brochure on the Canadian echo hatchback model which states that you should not exceed 700 lbs. As for towing, this is another interesting thing with Toyota. In Australia the '01 echo is rated to tow 1500 lbs. In Europe its rated to tow 2000 lbs. In Canada and the US, it has no towing rating and they don't recommend you tow with it despite the fact that it comes pre-drilled from the factory for a tow hitch should you want to install one. I think the difference from country to country is related to legal liability. Personally I have been towing with a 2000 echo for 3 years, up to 1500 lbs. I've experienced no damage or problems whatsoever. I do drive carefully, turn overdrive off, go slow, leave plenty of room between me and anything in front of me, etc. My echo has 170,000 miles on it and is still going strong. I've owned other cars that developed transmission problems way before 170k miles and that was WITHOUT towing anything at all, so I really do not believe that careful towing will harm your transmission but perhaps I am just lucky.
