There should be a c-clip on back side of cylinder to release it, then you can order a new one with a key from a catalog. Save the old one-sometimes you need some pieces off of it.
There is a bolt underneath the power steering pump that secures it from moving. It is on the opposite side of the pulley. (There are two bolts in that position, the lower one is the one you want.)
Loosen that and your pump should pivot freely.

It is below the temperature controls/air con or climate control panel in the centre console.
If you look at the bottom egde of the upright part of the centre console, just above the ashtray, you will see a piece of wood grain or alloy trim (depending on your model) about 1/2" high and about 6" long. This covers the OBD diagnostics port.
Remove this by putting your fingers of one hand underneath and simply slide it back out toward you. Job done, To replace, just locate and push back in....simple as that.
The OBD port is to the RHS of the area which has been uncovered, and is usually a dusky shade of pink/light purple.

This would be covered under the bumper to bumper warranty which expired at the end of 12 months or 12,000 miles. Powertrain is the engine, transmission, & differential. What powers the vehicle, nothing more. I believe there may be a recall on them. I have refered a couple customers to the dealer because they were within the 36,000 mile/ 3 year manufacturer's warranty prior to the recall and they had them fixed.

There are several things that can cause your 2006 VW Jetta not to crank over or start. The flashing of the PRNDL display would indicate the antitheft system has been activated.
for me it was a bearing that was going. unfortunately i did not find this out until it broke and took my engine with it. my car does the same thing. ford dealership said it was a loose drive shaft and not worth fixing. I have a 99 zx2 that was doing the same thing. It drove me nuts. Turned out to be the crankcase breather filter, dealer only part, about 15 bucks. It is located on drivers side on top, near valve cover and air breather tube. Has two vaccuum lines hooked to it. Try disconnecting to see if noise stops. If the noise stops, replace it. Dealers don't normally stock this, so you may have to wait a day. Good luck.

You can drill it and use an easy out. If it is a big screw I have used a punch and hammer to drive the screw loose by hitting it on the far side in a counter clockwise direction.

Go to auto zone and have the codes read for free.
To reset, the easiest way is to remove the negative battery cable for a couple of minutes then reconnect. This will clear the error codes from the car's computer. If everything is okay, the CHECK ENGINE light will stay off.

Step 1. Locate your vehicle's battery. Disconnect the 12v positive cable (red wire) from battery terminal (+). Leave it disconnect for 5 minutes. While the battery is disconnected, cycle the ignition switch to ON position 3 times.
- You've just erased important emissions related data which is invaluable to a smog technician attempting to repair your vehicle.
- You also deleted very important "readiness flag" data which takes days, if not weeks to compile.
Step 2. Insure ignition switch is OFF. Reconnect the battery 12v positive cable (red wire) to battery terminal (+).
- You're risking electronic component damage. High voltage spark produced during the reconnection of the positive 12v cable can cause damage to fragile electronic emissions component/s.
Step 3. Cycle ignition switch to ON position and wait 1 minute, then start your vehicle. Check Engine Light or Service Engine Soon Light should be reset and turned OFF.
- If you are successful in turning off the check engine light, this means your vehicle has not stored it's emissions data in the ROM section of it's computer and you have just deleted all data pertaining to your vehicle's engine and emissions systems, probably including your radio & system settings.

One will probably be located in the intake behind the alternator, and the other one, also located on the intake will be over by the upper radiator hose/thermostat housing. The one over by the alternator will be the one that signals the PCM.
