How do you fix gear linkage for a 1992 aerostar?
The shift linkage may become sloppy due to the retaining bolts for the shift bracket loosening.
To fix this, look under the dash to the left of the brake pedal. The shift cable comes up from the floor on the left side- follow it to the top, where it connects to the shift bracket that bolts the column shifter. There are two torx bolts (t-27 size) that may be loose that retain the bracket to the column shifter. Tighten these bolts, check to see if the linkage has improved. You may need to readjust the shift indicator after this fix.
How do you change volkswagen headlight?
Under the hood of car from the back of the headlight, release/flip the two retaining wires holding the cover over the lights and remove cover, unplug the wire harness from the bulb (there is a clip on one side), remove the black retaining ring that secures the bulb in place by turning it counter-clockwise, slide bulb out from the rear, replace with new bulb (careful not to touch bulb with fingers as dirt and oil will shorten the life of the bulb), assemble in reverse manner. This is for replacing bulb only.
Note that on the driver's side there is a bulb access plate held on by two Philips head screws. This side is the same as the passenger side but has very little room due to the battery cover. You may need to remove the battery cover assembly in order to get to the bulb. Be patient. Use a pair of needle nosed pliers to unclip the cover and the wire harness.
Even with the limited access both bulbs can be changed in under 30 minutes.
its a very good idea
on the 3.8,s it is right behind the alternator but you have to look way down underneth ( so between the alternator and the firewall but down under)
you will see the cap to fill it and you probally will need a long funnel

How do you change a starter on a 1991 VW Jetta?
1. Detach the cable from the negative post of the battery
2. Raise the vehicle body (not the wheels as you need the axle to drop down) and block
the vehicle so it won't fall.
3. Some starters have a coverplate to remove - remove it.
4. Use tape to label wires for replacement.
5. Remove fasteners and bolts holding the starter. A socket wrench should do on some
models. However, some starters have allen-wrench boltheads.
It can't be the valet key because the valet key works the opposite...It opens the doors but not the trunk. That model car has almost like a "double lock" on the trunk. If you put the non-valet key in the trunk keyhole and turn the key all the way to the right and remove the key while turned all the way to the right it will lock and re-lock the trunk to where the valet key will not be able to open it. They made it that way so you can lock pesonal items in your trunk, keep the original key, give the valet the valet key, and the valet cannot open the trunk. You might want to check the lines for the central lock system by the Drivers side door for a leak. That system is ran by a pneumatic pump located under the back seat. Does the key work in the front passenger's door? If so then its probably the actual lock on the drivers side door. Hope this helped you out.
AnswerI think you are using the valet key. Answer:Drivers side door is the most used lock so it wears out faster. On my 190-E it seams the key goes in to far and won't work. But I'm willing to bet if you slide the key in slowly and turn it lightly you can get the drivers side door to unlock every time.Hope this helps.
When this happens it is usually one of three things:
1) You have a bad key/lock: If it is not the valet key and the key unlocks other doors this is probably no the case. It is not likely that the tumblers in the lock have worn down but it is possible that the lock is dirty or is not lubricated right. I would first start by spraying WD-40 into the lock and on the locking mechanism that actually locks the door (the claw that hold the door shut) If this does not work then...
2) You have a bad linkage. Inside the door everything is attached and at times it comes apart or dislodged. Sometimes you can have a plastic retaining piece or or attaching piece that has become brittle. You can take off the door panel and get a good idea of how thing work by moving the inside handle or using the power locks. If every thing is connected in the linkage then...
3) You have a bad actuator. This is the actual electronic piece that locks and unlocks the door. I is usually on the inside left bottom (if looking from the inside). It can wear out and allow certain parts of the lock to work (ie key less entry, inside door handle, power locks) while giving difficulties to other part (ie the key) I hope that this helps.
Answer:
It is a very simple repair, there is a broken spring on the lock. Go to the hardware store and buy a spring that has long ends. You will need to remove the door panel and locate the linkage that comes off the inside door handle and trace it over to the door lock ( it should have a yellow plastic end on it just below the lock) connect one end of the spring to it then the other to the clip that holds the lock in the door this should correct your problem. If the spring is to tight it will prevent the lock from working, readjust the spring and try again.

Exactly how is going to depend on who installed the alarm. There would be a relay which (likely) breaks the starter cable. You'd need to locate this relay and reconnect the starter cable where the relay has been inserted. Not much help, I guess, but for what it's worth.
If you know where the alarm module is you could try tracing the cables from it, or (easier) try tracing the starter cable from the switch until you find a break (tape, splices, whatever) then just remove the inserted cables and join (repair) the starter cable. If anyone has a wiring diagram that would give the colour of the cable, it would help.
How do you change an oxygen sensor in a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta?
You need to purchase the tool for removing the O2 sensor. It's a socket that has a slit down the side for the O2 sensor cable. This will cost you about 20-30$. The 02 sensor will un-screw with a socket wrench. Best done when car is cold. Otherwise you will burn your hands.
Good luck.

How do you change a rear license plate bulb on a 2001 Aurora?
having to do this lately open trunk there are two holes right behind the plate twist out socket pull out. change bulb! thats it greg.
New HeadlineAccessing the two holes behind the plate from inside the trunk will require you to temporarily remove the carpeting/insallation material from the inside of the trunk lid.You will need two (2) #194 bulbs (its good practice to change paired bulbs at the same time). Bulbs pull straight out of socket. Use care when removing stubborn bulbs, it is not too difficult to squeeze the bulb glass with too much pressure and shatter it.
Re-insert bulb assembly into hole and twist to lock & seal into place.
How easy or hard is it to replace the clutch on a 1995 Acura Integra?
It isn't a job for the backyard mechanic.
It's not easy, an when you do it get the good stuff. Try to lighten you own fly wheel, " It can be done on a brake lath" get a new [pressure plate, release bearing an throw out bearing, an clutch plate. Excdy makes a dandy clutch . or a oem relpacement but the stage 1 or 2 is worth the money. ... it's not hard or easy, it just takes time. Car must be on a ramp or on blocks up high. You have to take out the drive axle on the power side, brakes lower ball joint. an at least the tran case if not whole tran.

How do you open a broken glove box?
I dont know what you mean by broken but if the handle i broken off and there is just a space where the handle would go, you can definitely open that, mine is like that.
First you put your finger inside the space and you will be able to feel 2 pins or something, one will be facing right and one left, they have a gap between them. You press them both at the same time and it will open.
Hope that helps
