How are pencils manufactured?

Today, most wooden pencils are mass produced from large blocks of cedar cut into slats. A machine cuts eight grooves, half as deep as the graphite-clay rod is thick, into the slats, and then places rods in each groove. Once the rods are in place, a second grooved slat is glued on top of the first. When the glue dries, the slats are fed through a cutting machine that cuts the wood into various shapes and divides the slats into eight separate pencils. The seams where the two slats are joined are sanded down and several coats of paint are applied to the pencil, giving it the appearance of a solid structure.

Usually washable markers and highlighters you can run your fingers through your hair (if you got it in your hair or if you are just coloring your hair for fun) and the marker will come out. It greatly depends on how much money you are looking to spend on markers. I have 144 Prismacolors and that was just over 300 dollars, but I also got two 72 sets of Copic and EACH set was 300. The Copics are better, by far, but the price makes a big difference.

Templates called French Cerves Simmiler to stensills ANSWER Here's a site that has an index of well known curves: http://www-groups.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~history/Curves/Curves.html You will notice that a "straight line" is on the list. Although straight lines and line segments do not appear to be curved in the usual sense of the term, in the technical language of mathematics, they are treated as "curves." Associated trivia: Curves constitute the largest (or "strongest" infinity). For example, although the number of whole numbers is infinite, there are more variations of curves than there are whole numbers.

What is the meaning of sun moon and stars in drawing art?

Sun and Moon Tattoos These popular tats seem to invoke a pre-Christian world where cultures worshipped all aspects of nature as deities. Sun tattoos were commonplace for Celtic druids who believed that the sun was the primary source of life, which of course scientifically it is, and the crescent moon has been an important symbol of an earth goddess and her powers for many different cultures. This of course doesn

How do you draw a Ferris wheel in picture form?

First, you draw a circle, then you draw a another circle bigger than the first one. You draw a long rectangle at the bottom of your circles, then you draw ten smaller rectangles which are your carts. Make sure that your first circle goes through your carts. Next is detail. Curve the bottom of each cart. Then you draw tiny bulb shapes and the wire for your decoration. The wire will be just one line and your bulbs will look like ovals with curved points at one end. Then, if you want, you can draw humans in the carts. Trace over your long rectangle at the bottom of your unfinished Ferris Wheel. Don't trace too hard, because you have to draw a thick pole connecting the rectangle and the first circle. Now, draw yet another circle a little smaller than your very first circle to make the first pole of the actual Ferris Wheel. Then, go back to your carts and draw small poles to connect the carts, because you don't want the carts to fall down and kill all of the people inside of them. Now draw two lines next to each other, like, twenty times all over the first and second big circles to connect them. Draw ANOTHER circle smaller than your second big circle that you ever drew on this drawing to make the second round pole. Draw a circle in the very middle and then another around that to make another round pole. Draw lines connecting the first circle to the middle round pole and cover with wire and lights. Now, final step. Erase construction lines and clean up your final drawing, and there, person out of the wind, is your first Ferris Wheel. Now, if only you knew how to draw every other ride, than you'll have a carnival!

What are the differences between oblique sketches and isometric sketches?

In an oblique sketch you have a horizontal x-axis and the z-axis comes off of it to show depth. In an isometric sketch the x-axis and the z-axis are at angles, and the angles of all three axis are 40 degrees each, or 120 degrees total.

Oblique Sketch: http://www.me.utexas.edu/~rbarr/images/Oblq-2.gif

Isometric Sketch: http://ppdl.engr.ou.edu/ame2303/step5i.jpg

as you can see, in the oblique sketch the axis is perfectly horizontal while the isometrix axis is not.

Where can you find copic markers?

It depends on if you prefer in-store shopping or online shopping. Generally better prices are found online, but to each their own...

1. Online - I've found that OtakuFuel has an excellent in-stock selection and ship super fast and for free. Copic Marker Scrapbooking is a relatively new company, but they have free shipping, on staff experts and support resources.

2. Walk-in - This has it's advantages, especially when it's time to refill your Copics. Many specialty stores have "Refill bars", which instead of buying and entire vial of Various Ink, you can just pay a small fee to have the shop refill your marker for you. Dick Blick is everywhere, and easy to find though you will probably pay more if you walk into their store than if you shop online. But to find the closest one use the official dealer locator offered by COPIC. All the dealers found with that tool are authorized dealers and are reputable. I don't recommend shopping with any store (online or not) that is not found on that list. If you are still in doubt, drop COPIC a line directly and ask for their recommendations for your area.

----------------------

Specialty art supply stores in your area should have them. I'm not talking about Michaels Craft Store or other craft stores. The small specialty art supply stores. If not, you could probably talk to the manager or owner about ordering some for you. You could also try Dick Blick; they carry everything in art supplies. I prefer PrismaColor markers myself, and these can be bought at even Michaels and Dick Blick but they are expensive.

----------------------

Or try Pearl Paint and Utrecht Art. Both places offer a student/teacher discount. Also, any art institute has a bookstore or affiliate which sells fine art supplies.

How do you get your drawing published?
