What three main principles did the USAs Founding Fathers establish to base the government on?

If there were three primary guiding principles, I would surmise those to be the fundamental rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as laid out by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence. I believe the Constitution was intended to reflect and preserve those basic rights. If anyone knows of another "three main principles," I hope you will enlighten us.

How were whites treated during the years of apartheid?

The living conditions for the native Africans during the time of apartheid were very terrible. The Afrikaner government of the time had made it so that black people could not own any land in 87% of South Africa due to the Group Areas Act enforced in 1950. The black people were only aloud in 13% of their own land even though they vastly outnumbered the white people in population and the 13% of the country that they were aloud to own which were called the reserves had unfertile soil and no real residential construction. The Africans were forced to make their homes out of corrugated iron, scrap wood and pretty much what ever they could find and the cost of the land was very expensive and unfortunately not much has changed since the abolition of apartheid.

What help to end the Apartheid in South Africa?

AN oil embargo helped end apartheid in South Africa. Another thing that helped end apartheid was that in 1991 the South African government repealed apartheid laws.

Why did some people believe that racism was at work in imperialism?

Racism rarely played a direct role in imperialism but was an important factor nonetheless. States generally act in their own interests, and in a way that maximizes those interests. However, Europeans (just like anyone else) are people, and people aren't comfortable with subjugating others in a general sense. Imperialism was something that was viewed as beneficial to the national interests of European states, and so they pursued imperial aims, but in order to justify those aims they generally ran to racist arguments; for instance, the British "burden of the white man" or the French "spreading civilization". All of these actions were taken to further the national interest but were justified in humane terms. Because they were uniformly manifested as the "whites" helping the backwards "others", subconscious racism was certainly involved, although never the chief objective.

What effect did the world have upon Apartheid and South Africa?

For more than 40 years, people inside and outside South Africa protested against the practice of apartheid. Many Black Africans, including Nelson Mandela, were jailed for there opposition to it. The United Nations declared apartheid "A crime against humanity". Many countries cut off trade with South Africa.

Are Germans racist?

There are racists in every single country. Being from Germany does not automatically make you racist.

During World War 2, Adolf Hitler was a racist and anti-Semitic (anti-Jew). But that does not mean every German is too.

Remember, Germans come in different skin colours too.

How was the apartheid created in South Africa?

Apartheid was a system of racial segregation in South Africa, from 1948 to 1994. It was a form of legalized racial inequality. Apartheid means "separateness" in the Afrikaans language. It consisted of numerous laws that allowed the ruling white minority in South Africa to segregate and exploit (and in many cases terrorize) the vast majority of the natives and residents. This mainly affected "black" Africans, but also Asians and "Coloureds" (people of mixed race).

In 1958, apartheid effectively removed the citizenship status of non-whites, relegating them to ostensibly "self-governing" tribal lands, or bantustans. After popular uprisings and international sanctions over 4 decades, the system was finally dismantled. In the first multiracial elections in 1994, Nelson Mandela (a popular leader and victim of political imprisonment) became the first black President of South Africa.

It should also be mentioned that completely separate facilities were created for white and "non-whites" - such as separate beaches, separate queues in shops, separate school's, separate counters in shops, separate coaches on trains and buses, separate living and living areas (the Group Areas Act)... the list goes on!

Apartheid is the Law system in which segregates black South Africans from White South Africans. Apartheid (meaning separateness in Africans, cognate to English apart and -hood) was a system of legalized racial segregation enforced by the National Party (NP) South African government between 1948 and 1994. It arose from a history of settler rule and Dutch and British colonialism, which became policies of separation after South Africa gained self-government as a dominion within the British Empire and were expanded and formalised into a system of legitimised racism and white nationalism after 1948. Apartheid was dismantled in a series of negotiations from 1990 to 1993, culminating in elections in 1994, the first in South Africa with universal suffrage, but the legacies of apartheid still shape South African politics and society.

Why did segregation happen?

Because African Americans used to be slaves. When Abraham Lincoln became president, his plan was to stop slavery from spreading but the Southern states thought he was going to abolish slavery. The Civil War begun and the Union won. The 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery, was also passed. After abolishing slavery, African Americans were treated badly because of their race.

That's how it started.

What is law of segregation?

There was not any "one law" of segregation. Segregation was a social and legal practice and custom which, during the time it was in effect, was supported and imposed by MANY local, state, and national laws, as well as social mores.

An essay on racism?

RECENTLY OUR world has seen the signs of xenophobia in different countries. We forget that Abraham Lincoln fought against the existence of slavery. Our father of nation Mahatma Gandhi tried to abolish the discrimination based on colour of skin in South Africa. Many others like Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela have campaigned against racism.

The term race, was once commonly used in physical anthropology to denote a division of humankind possessing traits that are transmissible by descent and sufficient to characterise it as a distinct human type On the basis of physical traits, there are three major groups of race known as: Caucasoid (white skinned mostly settled in USA and European countries), Mongoloid (Yellow skinned and mostly settled in India and China)and Negroid (Black skinned mostly settled in USA, Africa and South America).

Today the term has little scientific standing, as older methods of differentiation, including hair form and body measurement, have given way to the comparative analysis of DNA and gene frequencies relating to such factors as blood typing, the excretion of amino acids and inherited enzyme deficiencies.

As all human populations today are extremely similar genetically, most researchers have abandoned the concept of race for the concept of the Cline, a graded series of differences occurring along a line of environmental or geographical transition. This reflects the recognition that human populations have always been in a state of change, with genes constantly flowing from one gene pool to another, only by physical or ecological boundaries. While relative isolation does preserve genetic differences and allow populations to maximally adapt to climatic and disease factors over long periods of time.

Racism is any action, practice, or belief that reflects the racial world-view, the ideology that humans are divided into separate and exclusive biological entities called "races," that there is a causal link between inherited physical traits and traits of personality, intellect, morality, and other cultural behavioral features and that some races are innately superior to others.

Racism was at the heart of North American slavery and the colonisation and empire-building activities of some western Europeans overseas, especially in the 18th century. The idea of race was invented to magnify the differences between people of European origin in the United States and those of African descent whose ancestors had been brought against their will to function as slaves in the American south. By projecting Africans and their descendants as lesser human beings, the proponents of slavery attempted to justify and maintain this system of exploitation, while portraying the United States as a stronghold and champion of human freedom, with human rights, democratic institutions, unlimited opportunities, and equality.

The contradiction between slavery and the ideology of human equality, accompanying a philosophy of human freedom and dignity, seemed to demand the dehumanisation of those enslaved. By the 19th century, racism had matured and the idea spread around the world.

The concept differs from ethnology, with the former linked to physical and therefore immutable differences among people. Ethnic identity is acquired and ethnic features are learned forms of behaviour. Race, on the other hand, is a form of identity that is perceived as innate and unalterable.

In the last five decades, many conflicts around the world were interpreted in racial terms even though their origins were in the ethnic hostilities that characterised many human societies (e.g., Arabs and Jews, English and Irish).

Racism in total, reflects an acceptance of the deepest forms and degrees of divisiveness and carries the implication that differences among groups are so great that they cannot be transcended. In a nutshell, it does not have any scientific or biological reasons of superiority, it is a man made social stigma

Are white people stronger than blacks?

First off I’m a white male. Second, I’m not a racist. I was born lucky enough to have just enough strength and athleticism to be able to do some cool things when I was younger. Some of which still help me today.

I was, and still am, very strong. I was able to complete in powerlifting and advanced to State. I was also a pretty good football player. Not great, but good enough to gain a scholarship to play in college. The reason I’ve mentioned these two things is that my experiences while doing those things taught me a lot about myself as well as other athletes. Do not take what I’m going to say next the wrong way. I mean nothing disrespectful to whites or blacks, but we’re not the same. Science has proven it. While we are, I don’t know, 99.99999999% the same, we are still a little different.

If you‘ve ever seen a strong man competition, a powerlifting competition, or a swimming meet, you’ll notice one thing very quickly. It’s almost nothing but white guys. The reason is that we are just stronger. Our bodies are built differently than that of a black man, who has his own phenomenal skill set, but I’ll get to that later. White people have much more slow twitch fibers in out muscles which are advantageous for feats of strength. Our skeletal structure is different as well. In general we have wider rib cages, wider hips, longer torsos, and shorter limbs. All of these put together are advantageous for lifting extreme amounts of weight. With a wider base and shorter distance to ouch the weight, because of our shorter arms and legs, it also gives us an advantage. Not that there aren’t skinny white guys, but whites carry more visceral fat, in general, as well. On a personal note, I know that the more fat I carry, the stronger I am. I’m sure there’s science behind that as well. I mean just look at the world strongmen and the powerlifters setting world records. They are big boys.

Now for the other part of my story. Like I mentioned earlier, I played college football. As far as strength goes, nothing changed. The white boys were still the strongest, but boy were we not the most athletic. When it comes to certain things like football, basketball, and track, black athletes are leaps and bounds above white men. Now for science lesson two. Black athletes have far more fast twitch fibers in their muscles which help tremendously in speed and agility. They also are, again, built just a little differently than white men. Black men generally have wide shoulders but a much narrower rib cage and pelvis that white men do. They also have a shorter torso and longer legs and arms, which gives them not only a better center of gravity, but combining longer legs, and a smaller more flexible pelvis, in turn gives them an athletic advantage over their white brethren. You’re average black mans physique is far more impressive in general as well. Black men have the ability to gain muscle definition seemingly easy compared to white men for the simple fact that most don’t carry as much natural fat as whites do. This is one of the reasons that black men do very well in things such as body building also. The lack of body fat combined with the natural muscle definition makes these competitors aesthetically pleasing.

Most of what I’ve just said is scientific fact. I’m very interested in the human body and what it can do if pushed to and beyond it’s natural limits.

Also, before anyone gets it all twisted, we all either know, or have heard of, a white kid you went to school with that was the fastest kid around. I’ve seen a few myself. With that being said, during my powerlifting and football days, I’ve seen some freakishly strong black men. same thing goes for white guys that are built like Greek statues and black guys that might want to push away from the table if you know what I mean. I’m just talking in generalities.

The original question asked was if white men are stronger than black man and I will have to say absolutely, just in general. But I couldn’t just say that without expressing my feelings on the many physical attributes that black men posses as well. The human body is amazing and can do unbelievable things.

In closing, again I don’t want to imply that both whites and blacks are not both human beings. While we do have slight differences, the similarities completely out way them. One group is not better than the other. The small differences do make us unique though, and I like that. The world would be a pretty boring place if we were all identical because even the smallest differences are what make us special.

Whoever reads this, I hope you learned something that I think is pretty cool.

At the end of the day, even with tiny differences, we’re all just people. Not one group is better than the other. Remember that and you’ll live a much happier life.

How can you stop people from being racist?

You can try to calmly let them know that you are not comfortable with some of the statements they say and ask them if they would mind avoiding saying them when you are present.

Though racism is obviously wrong, some people simply refuse to understand that. You can't shout at someone that they are racist, bigoted, etc and demand that they stop. There is freedom of speech and they can say what they wish.

But this person may not realize they are hurting your feeling or making you feel uneasy around them. If this is a person you work with and they still will not stop after you ask politely, you have the option of going higher up (boss, supervisor, etc) and let them know that you are uncomfortable with some of the things this person is saying. Your place of work is SUPPOSED to make sure that it is a safe, comfortable environment for you to work in.

Look dont complain because if they know racism irritates you there probably doing it to annoy you so put up with the odd joke or whatever.

Are racist jokes funny?

This can depend, from person to person, ethnicity to ethnicity. Generally, you should always avoid telling racist jokes about somebody with a different ethnicity to you, who is right next to you, this would be very rude, and offensive. It is also, always frowned upon, when telling a racist joke, that you really mean, people of different ethnicities should be treated equally. However, as long as you, and everybody you are telling it to, understand, that none of you wish to offend people of different ethnicities, and, that it is merely a joke, and, that that joke is not meant. Any joke is fine if its used at the right time and the right place. Racist jokes are no worse than jokes about church and accidents just as long as you dont tell the joke in the wrong manner. Right well telling racist jokes depends on how you tell them.
