if you find out, let me know......I have same issue with my 745i, yahoo, w40_joe TRY THIS... Sit in the drivers seat, close the door, and buckle your seatbelt. Insert your key into the ignition and turn it to the second position. Do not turn the car on. Hold down the odometer reset button. Watch the gear position display that is on the dash console. It will begin to display the various service indicator symbols. Press and release the button once to move to the next item in the display. When you see a message that you need to reset, press the odometer reset button AND hold it until it displays RESET. then release it and press it again AND hold it in until it flashes to all dash marks and then resets the mileage number to what it should be reset to. Then release the button and you can continue to scroll to the next item by pressing the button once and releasing it. This really works, and was the only thing i could find online that actually did work. I hope that this works for you.

Brake fluid in ANY vehicle should be flushed every two to three years depending on vehicle usage. Be sure to use the appropriate brake fluid for your Honda (don't just buy any brake fluid off the shelf.) I always flush my fluid when I replace the front disk pads. If your brake fluid is a very dark brown or worse, milky, change it immediately.

If the shoes have been soaked in fluid, there is no cleaning them. I have tried brake cleaner, even tried using my torch and heating them very hot to bubbl out the fluid - no joy. Replace them if they have been soaked. If you just have a little on the surface, use conventional brake cleaner (spray can).

No, they use air pressure or actually the lack of air pressure to stop the vehicle. The brakes are fully on until pressure builds up in the tank releasing the brakes. When you push the brake pedal this removes air from the system and applies the brakes.

The brake fluid reservoir is located to the right side of the engine against the firewall. It is made of opaque plastic with a yellow screw on cap. It is approximately 4 inches wide by 6 inches long. The cap also contains a fluid level sensor that detects a low fluid level in the resevoir.

Buy a Haynes/Chilton manual at any auto parts store for 20 dollars. If you don't know how to remove them, you probably will not get them back on correctly.

pop the hood. on the drivers side firewall there is a white container with a black cap. that is your master cylinder reservoir. there is a full mark on the side of it. fill with appropriate fluid. the cap should tell you what kind to use.

look at the fluid reseviour.. if the fluid is low.. tis time to replace the brake pads.. as the pads wear out the fluid level drops
