How do you bypass the security system in a 1993 buick lasaber?
That GM car uses a system called VATS
Your key should have a chip in it. You need to take an OHMS meter and check the resistance on both sides of the chip in the key. From that, you will need to buy a resistor that matches the resistance on the key
You will Cut the Vats system wires that run up into the steering column. It should be two wires that are wrapped in orange plastic. You will need to solder the resister into the harness side of the wires.
What is the wiring for a 1988 Buick LeSabre?
AutoZone posts wiring diagrams for many cars and trucks for free. It also has a vast amount of repair information, including diagrams of part locations, detailed instructions, etc. If you don't have a repair manual for your car, you can just about get by with this all by itself. However, not all cars are covered by this service. You'll just have to look and see if yours is.
Follow this link: www.autozone.com/shopping/vehicleSelect1.htm. Then select your year and make/model of car.
Now do the following: * Locate your car, year, make and model. * Select "Repair Info" at the left side of the screen. * Then select, "Vehicle Repair Guides" -> Chassis Electrical -> Wiring Diagrams
Why does the turn signal on the 1995 Buick LeSabre still not work after replacing the bulbs?
There could be a possible fuse blown some where?...check the fuses for marking lights You may also want to look for the turn signal relay, try putting on your 4-way hazard flashers and see if those work, if they do you can here the clicking noise of the relay, might be under your dash. In my car it was underneath the dash directly in line with the steering column, above the brake pedal.
Do you have to buy a battery for a 2000 Buick Le Sabre from a dealer?
The short answer is no. Autozone: Duralast 100-DLG $112 Advance Auto, Checker, Schuck's, or Kragen: Autocraft-1001 $100 Keep in mind that car batteries are a commodity item, and there about/only three manufacturers that make most of the batteries sold. So look for the cold cranking amps [CCA], bigger is better. There is nothing special about a GM battery, a dealer is full of hot air if they tell you other wise. It's a re-branded battery from one of the big three battery manufacturers. For example, Johnson Controls, who is one of the big three manufacturers, makes AutoZone Duralast, CostCo's Kirkland, Ford's Motorcraft, Interstate, Sears Diehard, among others [they even make Bosch and Varta] car batteries. No. I bought one from Wal-Mart. Most retail stores and "chain" auto parts stores like Napa, Pep Boys, etc. should have one in stock. Although the dealer is always the best choice for parts and/or service you don't have to buy there as long as your purchase is equal to O.E. (original equipment) you should be fine buying from a reputable retalier such as Sears, Kmart Pepboys, AutoZone, etc.--- P.S. Consult store personnel on the correct battery for your vehicle.
Where is the Buick Lesabre Security Sensor?
Im trying to bypass the security sensor so my car will start 1995 buick lasabre
===========
The "Sensor" itself consists of a couple of metal fingers that grab the flat of the key on either side of the little 'chip' (it's actually just a piece of metal that has a particular resistance matched to your Security Module). These fingers are in the moveable part of the key receptacle in the steering column. The wires connected to these fingers often break, and a standard 'fix' is to spoof the system with a resistor that electrically looks just like your key.
The wires come out of the bottom of the steering column, and can be snipped there and the proper resistor soldered in. I can't remember which wires they are right now -sorry! But this may be enough for you to go on with additional 'net searching.
The module on a '92 is behind the glove box. Don't know about the '95.
Where is the O2 sensor on a 2000 Buick lesabre?
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_the_O2_sensor_on_a_2000_buick_lesabre"
The Security light stays on in my Pontiac what to do?
Not knowing what year your car is I'll have to guess that it's a post 1996 with a VATS OEM anti-theft device. That would indicate that the VATS signal was correct at startup but failed while you were driving the vehicle. The constant light indicates that the VATS is in "Failed Enable" mode meaning that there is no more immobilizer protecting your vehicle usually caused by a worn ignition barrel. If your car is 10 years old and aren't worry by theft then don't worry about it, it won't leave you stranded. If you have several hundred dollars burning a hole in your pocket then take it to a repair shop. There's nothing you can do yourself.
Location of fuel filter on a 2003 buick lesabre?
The fuel filter is on the frame just forward of the gas tank.
Door panel removal 2001 Buick Lesabre?
Tools needed:
regular & Phillips screwdrivers and a door panel V-shaped or GM "J type" removal tool is needed for the best results. If you are replacing the window regulator assembly a 10mm socket and medium length extension is needed.
Pry triangular speaker housing loose from front corner of window. It has only 1 door panel type push-in fastener. Pry loose the door handle trim ring, starting at front. It will pop out at the front then slide it forward to remove it. Pry out safety "taillight" on rear edge of door (the red side of the lens). Remove the 2 screws behind door handle trim ring and "taillight". Pry panel away from door, starting at bottom and working to top. There are 7 clips that hold the panel to the door frame and 2 white dowels used for aligning the panel when replacing. Front top and bottom rear of the panel. Pull the panel away and remove the master wireing plug.
Reinstalling the door panel:
DO NOT forget to plug in the master plug wirieng harness on the back of the door panel and push the swing lock back into place. DO NOT forget to feed the red/white light harness through the door panel. DO NOT forget to feed the power lock wiring harness through the door handle opening in the panel.
To secure the window in a closed position:
For a temporary fix unplug the window motor. Slide the window all the way up but leave a little tolerance room. Use a small C-clamp approx. 3" or less and clamp it under the window onto the verticle track. This will hold the window in place until there is a remedy for the situation.
If you just need the master window switch panel out, pry it up, starting at the front.
I believe the rear door procedure is the same as the front, except no speaker housing and no screw behind "taillight".
Answerautozone.com has online manuals that give step by step how to.Mitchell manuals nor Autozone online manuals covered this procedure.
__ Edit 11/01/09___
After an hour of online research and three phone calls to different mechanics we came to the conclusion that the GMC "J" tool is worthless and a waste of $10. It is suppose to help remove the push bolts that attach the side panel however with a flat head screwdriver and some brute force you can pull the door panel loose from the door. Start in the bottom right corner slide the screwdriver along until you find the first of 7 plastic bolts once located place one hand on each side of the bolt and pull and it will snap off, do same with the other 7 and lift the panel upward to expose the interior of the door.
Does the Throttle Body have anything to do with a coolant leak?
throttle body" fuel", cooling system separate.
On a 3.8 engine the throttle body and upper plenum contain coolant. There is a gasket between them that could leak. More important the upper pleninum on the 3.8 engine often develops a leak near the EGR inlet which is in the area you are concerned with.
Where can a idle sensor on a 1993 Buick Lesabre located with a 3800 motor?
The Idle Air Control valve is located on the side of the throttle plate. Normally the only problem they have is getting gummed up and need a good cleaning.
Where is the Quad Driver Module on a 1993 buick lesabre?
the quad driver module is part of your computer, it controls certain parts like your emission system and fuel system that sort of stuff.
Where is the trunk release button in a 1998 Buick LeSabre?
Immidiately to the left of the steering wheel, below the traction control switch/twilight sentinel/interior light dimmer controls. Note that the trunk button can be disabled by a switch in the glove box or another switch in the trunk on the locking mechanism itself.
What size wiper blade 1993 Buick lesabre?
The 1993 Bucik LeSabre takes 22" wiper blades on both sides front. See sources and related links below for more information. Since there are over 22 different wiper arm attachments, do not buy wipers just by length only - be sure to lookup exact wiper blade part numbers by vehicle make, model and year for the brand wiper you decide to purchase. This ensures correct length AND correct attachment.
What does the Brake warning light mean on the 1989 Buick LeSabre?
Brake fluid could be low or emergency brake might be partly on.
I'd check your fluid right away. This just happened to me and i found out it was my rear driver side break like had rusted out. could be the same thing for you.
How do you bypass the pass-key module on a 1996 Cadillac Fleetwod?
Alright, let's begin the madness: 1. Take your DMM, set it to measure Ohms (use the 20k setting.) Measure the resistance across the pellet of the ignition key. Place one probe on the silver part of one side of the pellet, and the other probe on the other side. Write this value down. 2. Purchase a resistor or resistors that add up to the value measured in step 1. Radio Shack is a great place to go for the resistors, heat shrink tubing, and the "bullet-style" solderless connectors. 3. Take the 16 ga. wire and cut into 2 four-inch pieces. 4. Strip off approx 1/16" of insulation off each side of both wire pieces. 5. Put your resistors together in series (or if you're lucky and have a chip that has a resistance that matches a single resistor) and solder one wire to one end of the resistor(s) and the other wire to the other side. Example: You measure 11.72 on the 20k (k meaning kilo or 1,000) scale. The closest match is 11.801 which is a #15 "chip." Always remember that resistors have a tolerance of 2%, meaning the resistance value of the "pellet" can be either 2% higher or 2% lower than 11.801 k ohms (11.72 falls in tolerance range.) You will want to aim for 11,801 ohms. So when you go to Radio Shack you want to pick up a 10,000 ohm (10k,) a 1,000 ohm (1k,) and an 800 ohm resistors to wire together in series to achieve the 11.801k ohm value. Here's an example of how you'd connect the above mentioned resistors in "series" wire------10k ohm------I------1k ohm------I------800 ohm------wire 6. Measure the resistance across the 2 wires now that the resistors are soldered to them. Be absolutely sure the value matches that of the resistor pellet in the ignition key (within 2% up or down.) 7. Cut a length of heat-shrink tubing to cover up the resistors, allowing a small bit to hang over onto each of the 2 wires. Use a lighter or heat gun to shrink the tubing. 8. On one of the wires, crimp on a male bullet connector, and on the other wire crimp on a female bullet connector. 9. Now what you have should look like this: Notice in the above "resistor pack" I lucked out and only needed 1 resistor to match the pellet's resistance. You may not be so lucky... 10. Now move to the car. Remove the under-dash kick panel. 11. Look for an orange wire running down the steering column. This wire should have a "rubbery" feel to it, and it is the only orange wire running from the column. **WARNING** Do not tamper with any of the wires near the column wrapped in yellow harness tape or any yellow wire. These wires are for the airbag. Tampering with any of these wires could result in the airbag discharging. 12. Cut this wire (there are 2 small wires inside) and strip back the insulation on the wires on the opposite side of the steering column. 13. Install a male bullet connector to one of the 2 wires, and a female on the other. 14. Plug in your "resistor pack" that you made by mating the male and female bullet connectors. 15. Attempt to start the car. If your problem was with the VATS reader in the ignition lock cylinder, this will start the car. If this won't start the car, then the problem is in the VATS module. If the VATS module is bad, remove the resistor pack. Strip the insulation off the other side of the main wire cut (running from the column) and place a male connector on one wire and a female on the other. Plug the 2 halves back together to restore the function of the VATS reader. Alright, let's begin the madness: 1. Take your DMM, set it to measure Ohms (use the 20k setting.) Where is the thermostat located ON a 1999 buick lesabre 3800 series 2?
To my knowledge all thermoststs are located at the end of the top radiator hose !
Where is 2002 Buick la saber battery located?
The battery in your 2002 Buick LeSabre (and probably all LeSabres that share the same body style, 2000-2005) is located under the rear seat. To reach it you simply pop out the rear seat cushion by pushing in at the bottom and lifting. It's a special battery with vents that connect to a vent hose the other end of which goes through the floor pan to the outside. When reinstalling be very sure that the vent hose is in good condition and properly connected to the battery. The hydrogen sulfide fumes fom a lead/acid battery can attack the seat cushion or eat a hole in the floor, not to mention being highly flammable. When I had to replace mine I discovered that not all battery shops carry the proper battery for this vehicle. The best price I could find actually was at a Buick dealership for an OEM battery (which has held up quite well). Do not try to "cheap out" and substitute a "normal" battery. It will end up costing you more and could potentially be very dangerous.
What might cause a squealing engine noise on a 1997 Buick Lesabre?
Check the belts. The most common cause of squealing is a worn or loose belt on the front of the engine.
