Why does 1995 eldorado's idle fast or hunting for idle?

EFI cars dictate idle through direct output from the ECU, based on information it gains from the coil, engine temp (block sensor), cam revs (sensor) and throttle position sensor (on the throttle, a potentiometer usually). Idle is actually controlled by the ECU based on that info through a throttle bypass solenoid valve. This valve can get dirty and you can tell if there is a fault if the idle does not change on engine load (like when the aircon goes on). Take the valve off and clean it. The TPS sensor can go wrong also as the ECU then does not know what the throttle is doing. Hope that helps

How do you remove the pulley from the power steering pump in a 1992 Cadillac Eldorado?

Although I am sure there are shade tree ways to do this, the only right way is to use a pulley remover. This tool has a set of collars that fit over the groove in the pulley. Once that collar is in place a jack screw threads into a body that sits in the collars with the pulley. At that time you simply screw in the jack screw and the pulley comes off very easily.

K-D Tools has a nice kit, part # K-D 2897 but it is pricey. (That is what I use in my shop)

Harbor Freight has one pretty cheap. Good Luck

What is Service Ride Control?

Service ride control means that the auto-leveling system has malfunctioned and is in need of repair. Usually this is caused by the compressor going out, or at the very least shutting it's self off after not being able to level out the car.

Furthermore, Ride control is simply an air suspension that attempts to keep the car level on uneven road surfaces. (If the road leans to one side or the other, while turning, etc.)

How do you remove the rear seat in a 1992 Cadillac Eldorado?

The lower seat comes out by pushing straight back at the front center of each of the two side seat positions and then pulling up. It will take a strong force. Try squatting in the footwell of each side and using your knee lean into the seat while lifting up. When you get the seat bottom out look at how the fastening method works to understand what you were doing.

The back section is bolted by seatbelt bolts at the bottom on either side of the center hump. Unbolt and lift the lower end forward. I'm not sure how the seat back is fastened on the upper back, but it might come off by a similar method as the seat bottom. Try pulling down and out on either side of each upper middle back to clear the hooks on upper back. Alternately there are two long screws protruding from the seat back in the trunk. The forward truck liner is fastened by velcro style fasteners at each speaker location, Pull the liner down at those locations and it will hinge down to reveal the seat back frame. There are some electronics in that area also.

---the top ones you'll need to come in from the trunk, 7/16 open end wrench is good.

How do you set the clock in a 2000 Chevy Lumina?

I actually just bought a 2000 lumina tonight and had for the past 6 years or so been driving an older 92 lumina and found the controls with the stock radio/cassette deck to be nothing like the older models. Driving home I spent about 40 minutes of the drive from the dealership trying to figure out how to get the proper time on the clock as I drove, pressing each and every button and holding it down to no avail. Well when I finally got home and got a bit of light in the car I saw that in the right hand bottom corner of the radio/cassette deck it had two very small (hr) and (min) buttons. They're easy to miss. So all you have to do is turn the radio off then press and hold the corresponding button until the time shown blinks and change it to whatever you like and then after a couple of seconds it will accept the new setting.

This is the way to set the digital clock on a 1998 Lumina as well. I add this because I had a tough time finding the answer for my model year. I will also add that you only need press and hold for a moment, the time colon will begin flashing.

How do you replace the alternator on a 1998 Cadillac DeVille?

NOTE TO ALL THOSE WITH DEVILLE'S about 96 to 99. There are hundreds of complaints of these alternators failing prematurely and the ridiculous prices charged for a replacement. The cause of failure is because these accessory loaded cars work these high amp alternators hard and as a consequence they run hot, this however does not kill them, what does is that this heat is combined with that of the exhaust manifold and on a hot summer day you can fry eggs on your alternator. Yes you read it right, GM moron engineers put this high amp alternator tight against the manifold - no heat shields -nothing. As you sit at a light on a hot summer day with a lot of accessories going your alternator is just about glowing red under the hood. If your alternator is noisy or you have a strange whine from your northstar you can't identify, very hard to pinpoint, trust me its the bearing in the alternator. You do not need to pay the crooks $1,000.00 cdn for a new alternator, check your local yellow pages for a starter/alternator rebuilder and have them press new bearings into it for about $50.00 cdn. (Note that as the alternator is right at the front of the car in the slipstream as you are moving it is not as likely to fail as often as it will for those who spend considerable time in the city or idling) Now for the bad news, getting it out is a pain the first time, but as a Deville owner you will get to be an old hand at it and soon become an expert. The trick is that it will not come up through the top, it must be dropped out the bottom. First disconnect battery, remove the snap down plastic trim across the top of the rad, undo bolts and lift the fan assembly out, remove serpentine belt from the alt pulley, undo wires from alt. Next (not all years of Deville) look underneath the car directly under the alternator and you will find a small access plate, remove this and drop the alternator out. Like any thing else it looks formidable to tackle because your unsure, but it is actually quite painless, albiet a pain in the butt. An approach to solve this GM idiocy is to maybe get more expensive bearings from a bearing shop.

How do you program factory keyless remote for 2003 hummer?

How do you remove rear speaker on 2000 eldorado?

First start in the trunk. You must remove the carpet etc, and then take off the panel that houses the fuses. Once removed, you will be able to see the bolts that hold the backseat in place. Remove those bolts and take out the backseat or at least pull it forward enough to remove the back panel where your light is by the speakers. once the rear panel is off inside the car, you will see the screws that hold the speakers. you will have to run new speaker wire to each of the speakers if you have the Bose system.

Why is my heater fan on my 1997 e class not blowing air?

Most common would be your blower motor voltage regulator, this is the part that varies the voltage to the blower motor telling it to go faster or slower. It is located up under the dash on the passengers side and pretty easy to replace. You might also have to replace the blower motor and cover though, if the regulator has never been replaced before you might have to do this. The old style regulator is not available anymore.

How do you put gas in a 1984 Cadillac?

The gas cap is under the rear license plate. If you have automatic door locks, make sure your doors are unlocked, or you will have in the trunk what looks like a door lock that slides, slide it to unlock your license plate. Then put the gas cap on the right side of the plate to hold it open and pump your gas. At least that is how it works on my 1984 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Coupe, that has power everything. Hope this helps : > )
