Car Shaking Problems

Car shaking problems are usually the results of mechanical problems. Out of adjustment tires or suspension will make the car shake after reaching a certain speed. Warped brake rotors will also make the car shake when it’s slowing down.

How do you know if you have a bad speed sensor?

If you speak about ABS speed sensors, the main issue would be that before to arrive at a complete stop the ABS kicks on. You will still be able to stop without any issues but it is noisy and uncomfortable.

What causes the dash and steering wheel shake bad when everything on the front end checks out and the tires are balanced?

Brake calipers loose? It all depends on the speed your doing at the time. If it occurs all the time I would say the tyres may still be out of ballance. There's other things like bushes that could be worn that cause problems. If the car is older could be shocks.. theres a lot of things.. Engine mounts, even the drive shaft can shake the car and make it appear to be coming from the front end.

Constant noise and vibration from front end CV axles changed It is a 1990 Ford Probe 2.2L 5 speed Can hear and feel through shifter and steering wheel?

It sounds like a wheel bearing in your hub is worn out. These are hard to diagnose when you turn the wheel(or hub) by hand, they may seem fine but vibrate at higher speeds.Check if there is any dirt stuck in your rims or if a rim has lost a balance weight.

When a 89 civic is going over about 45mph and you apply the brakes the car shudders It isn't a violent bucking but it feels like the breaks are maybe bouncing off the wheels?

IF THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES THE MOST LIKELY PROBLEM IS THAT YOUR FRONT BRAKE ROTORS ARE WARPED. YOU CAN EITHER HAVE THEM MACHINED AT A QUALITY AUTOMOTIVE SHOP OR REPLACE THEM WITH NEW ROTORS.

What would cause a 1991 Honda Accord to shake in reverse?

I am assuming you have an automatic transmission in your 1991 Honda? The 'vibration' you describe is likely due to worn motor mounts/shock absorbers. These Hondas have three different motor mount brackets, each of which has a rubber vibration-isolating bumper in the mounting assembly. I replaced the ones in my 1992 Accord EX (auto transmission) and it definitely solved the problem. It's not as big a problem to fix as it may sound like, but may not be something you want to tackle by yourself if your are not mechanically-inclined. These parts, from HOnda, will be extremely pricey. I purchased my motor mount brackets by searching on eBay, and saved a considereable sum of money, and I coulnd't see any appreciable difference in quality. Check the engine and transmission mounts.

Why do your front tires thump when driving?

Check for missing wheel weights or possibly bad shocks. Can also be a defect in the tire itself. As in, a broken or seperated belt in the ply. Can also be a tire with a flat spot on it. Have this looked into by a professional tire shop as it could be dangerous.

Can a ignition module make a car shake?

If a defective ignition module, (or bad plugs/ wires) causes a misfire condition, one or more plugs won't fire. The uneven power pulses cause engine shaking.

Your car shakes when you stop on brakes and it gets worst when you turn on the air?

When you stop and feel a pulsation in the front wheels which you will feel in the steering wheel, this is a sign you have a wrapped rotor. But you mention it is worse when you turn on the A/C which would indicate your idle control motor may be bad. This increases the idle when the engine is loaded, as in the A/C on.

Another Answer That depends on where you purchased the tires. Many places include free lifetime tire balance when you purchase tires from them. Other places will soak you for quite a large fee for mount and balance when you either purchase the tires or have them changed. Caveat Emptor
