Car Shaking Problems

Your rims are bent and/or your alignment is off. Bent rim, bad tire, loose suspension/steering component.

Could be a vacuum leak. The year and engine info would help us help you.

It does not have one. It relies on the electronics on the the dashboard display which you may never look at. Please advise if I am wrong.

If it's a good day and the planets are aligned you might get by with a hundred dollars at the local alignment shop. Well, it works on mine, anyway.

The crankshaft and camshaft sensors monitor engine speed. When the sensors detect a change in speed, they attribute it to a misfire. Depending on the cylinder that was supposed to fire, the engine can determine when the change in speed took place and can single out a particular cylinder. When it happens with more than one cylinder, it becomes a mulit cyl misfire. This is one of the symptoms of a malfunctioning cam or crank sensor.

A tune-up is needed. From what you say I gather the engine runs sweet enough at revs, higher than park or reverse. That being the case your idle/low end fuel delivery system needs servicing, the higher rev. side of the fuel system and spark are ok.

It could be (a) misfiring cylinder(s). Check the condition of your plugs and wires. Also, check if your engine mounts are not worn.

Vehicles have compensation systems to increase the rpm when the AC is loading the engine, and slowing it down. Newer cars idle speed often isn't adjustable, so the problem's in the ECM (computer) or a sensor.

With an older vehicle, simply bump up the idle speed a little. Usually a 1/8 or so, turn on the adjusting screw will do it.

Have system scanned if check engine light is on. I would check for vacuum leak and if none were found do a tune-up if due. May need a fuel system check ,,,,fuel regulator, fuel injector, fuel filter. Could be throttle position sensor or crankshaft position sensor. Could be a computer problem.

make sure your brake pads are in good condition, a vibration in the brake pedal indicates a warped rotor to include worn front disk pads, make sure your front tires are not going bald, because they will do just as much vibration as a warped rotor when stepping on the brake pedal.

There will be uneven wear that does not match the other tires. There can also be noise you will hear or bouncing that you can feel on the steering wheel that can alert you to the tire being out of balance. The best thing is to have it spun at a tire shop to check the rotation of the tire to correct the balance problem.

You probably have a fuel delivery issue, or a slight misfire caused by bad spark plugs or bad coils. Dirty throttle bodies and vacuum leaks can cause this as well, not to mention improper idle speeds.

this could be a number of problems sorry but i would start with the cheapest first

have service shop check balance of rim/ tire

buy a repair manual spacific for your car find trouble shooting section

replace wheel bearing

check for sloppy suspention or steering componants while apart

replace axle shaft (front wheel drive cars only)cv joint may be at fault easier to change whole shaft.

if these dont do it you may have an allignment issue or a bent hub assembly.

No, what you're describing sounds more like a warped rotor. Sometimes a rotor will warp as it gets older. It's caused by heat.

It depends on what year it is. but you should try roughing it up a little bit. Go over bumps, go through trails, mud, etc. It sounds like you need to have the tires inspected. If the tread is good on the tires, it's recommended balancing the wheels and tires. This will more than likely fix the vibration/ steering wheel wobble issue. This is always the first step in this case. As far as the vehicle puling to the right on its own, you more than likely need a wheel alignment. You can usually tell if the vehicle needs an alignment by the wear on the tires. If one side of the has more trodden than the other side of the same tire, it's pretty much a guarantee you need the alignment.

One of the belts might have broken in the tire.

EPA ratings are 14 City and 19 Highway. The actual average MPG you get will depend on many factors. Climate, elevation, load, how you drive, tire pressure, etc. Anyway you look at it, this vehicle does not get good MPG.

We have one that does that. The mechanic told us it was 2 bad motor mounts, but I haven't fixed them yet (so cannot verify the diagnosis)

If your tires are balanced and it's still pulling, then your car is ot of alignment. Go to a local tire shop to have an alignment done and that should rectify the problem.
