Car Shaking Problems

Car shaking problems are usually the results of mechanical problems. Out of adjustment tires or suspension will make the car shake after reaching a certain speed. Warped brake rotors will also make the car shake when it’s slowing down.

What are the hazards of driving with a bad tire rod?

Slighty loose should only cause tire wear. It will get worse. As it gets worse the car will start to want to follow the groove in the road and worse tire wear and possibly pull. Something to fix soon.

What does car shake when you brake?

Most often this is cause by a warped rotor. In most cases the rotor can be turned and returned to a perfect condition. In some cases the rotor will have to be replaced. Have your brake system inspected and repaired.

Where is the mass air sensor on a 2001 ford escape?

Follow the flow of air from the air cleaner to the throttle body. You will see it.

How do you tell which tie rod end is bad?

Raise and properly support the vehicle so that your tires are off the ground. Push and pull the tire near the area of the tie rod. There should be no movement, or play, in the tie rod end. If there is, that tie rod is bad.

Also, you may notice the rubber boot on the tie rod is torn and grease has leaked out. This is a sign that your tie rod is likely prematurely worn, or will be soon, and it needs replacing.

if you discover that a tie rod ball joint connection is bad, as described above, you should change it immediately to avoid an accident. if tie rod end ball joint connection snaps , you will lose steering in that wheel.

What is the cause of a shimmy in a car steering system?

The shimmy sensation in a vehicles steering wheel could be from several things , but the foremost likely reason is the camber being out of adjustment, and a simple alighnment should solve the issue promptly

Why does my car shake when i press the gas i have a v-8?

what size motor do you have? for all we know it could just be some American muscle under your hood, but if not it could be a dirty fuel line add some stp gas treatment and maybe look into getting a new air filter, other then that not to sure what else it could be

When you start your car it vibrates and shakes why?

there could be several reasons for this problem the most likely being an alignment problem, if it occurs only when your braking it is probably warped rotors or out of round drums depending on your braking system

bad spark plugs or wires

How often should you change fuel filter for f350 6.0 diesel?

if the fuel filter is cheap then do it every other oil change. I do it to my diesel as well to my gas engines. You can never be to safe with fuel. anything in it can cause engine damage. Better safe than sorry. Although the manufacturer will not recommend changing it so often. I do, I have never had a fuel problem in any vehicle I have owned or helped fix throughout the years. Working on a vw 95 golf right now. Bought it for 500 bucks cause it didn't start, crank or nothing. I paid the guy and then installed a new fuel filter and pressure regulator. emptied tank and refilled. Put on some plugs and wires on vehicle. mans Jaw dropped after seeing me turn on the car and drive it away. Simple things make a car not work. you just have to simplify your thinking to understand it.

Is it advisable to replace both cam and crank sensors at the same time?

Totally up to you. it is only necessary to replace which ever one is giving you a problem. The only time i might recommend doing both would be if the y were both behind the timing belt and the sensors were known to go bad often.

Why would a car sputter when you stop at a light but idle fine in park?

Vacuum leak; there is a slight load on the engine when stopped at a light because you are in gear, there is none when in park.

Why does the front end shake on a dodge 2500?

You may have a problem with the track bar. Replacing the factory track bar with a larger, adjustable track bar can prevent driving problems like front-end

shaking, misaligned steering geometry and uneven tire wear.

Can a bent front strut cause alignment problems and a springing sound while driving over bumps in a Nissan Sentra 1997?

Yes it is possible. I have a 2001 sentra and recently replaced the front right strut and coil spring. It didn't have a springing sound though, more of a clunk sound when driving over bumps and on turns. The strut was bent and the coil spring broken. Also the sway bars had play. It was safe to drive with play in the bar, but until it got new links put in, it still made the same sound.

Can car computer problems cause vehicle to shake or tremble?

yes and no. try checking your air filter if that's ok than your computer must be sending to much or not enough fuel to the engine.

Why does your car shake and the engine light is on?

If it is a 1996 or newer then it will have OB2. That means that a repair shop can hook up their scanner and it will tell them what the problem is. That will save you a lot of money because guessing is not a good idea.

What causes car vibration at idle speed when the car is at rest?

Have it checked out by a mechanic. The most likely thing is the car just needs a good tune up to replaced plugs and wires that are wearing out.

What happens if you put to much freon in system?

It could also blow the seals.

What causes cars to hydroplane in the rain?

Hydroplaning (sometimes aquaplaning) in a road vehicle is an effect similar to planing in a boat. A layer of water between the rubber tires of a road vehicle and the road surface (or between airplane wheels and the runway) reduces the friction with the tires. They stop rotating, causing the vehicle to act like an unpowered and unsteered sled. Causes of hydroplaning The engine provides power through the wheels to provide a controlled speed. The wheels also provide steering and braking through the driver controlling the angle of the wheels relative to forward motion, and through the operation of the brakes. The tread in a rubber tire is designed to remove water from beneath the tire, providing high friction with the road surface even in wet conditions. This enables friction between the wheel and the road, allowing the wheel to rotate, and to provide rolling resistance, braking and steering power. Wheeled vehicles are designed to operate properly when there is friction between the rotating wheel surface and the road. Any frictionless substance can force a vehicle to hydroplane, should the substance separate the tires from the road. In a typical hydroplaning situation, increasing water pressure in front of the wheel means that the amount of water being dispersed by the tread is less than the amount being forced under the wheel. A wedge of water is forced under the tire which is lifted on a sheet of water. The vehicle then loses braking, steering and power to the drive wheels because of loss of wheel contact with the road. The result is complete loss of normal control by the driver, and the vehicle will slide until it either collides with an obstacle or until wheel road friction is regained. The likelihood of hydroplaning increases if the momentum of the vehicle is high, the vehicle is imbalanced, the tire is underinflated, has worn tread or the water is deep. Hydroplaning is especially dangerous while the car is on Cruise Control, as the increased reaction time and lack of pedal feel can cause the car to accelerate without warning. The problem with cruise control is that it may try to accelerate while the car has uneven traction. This can cause the vehicle to veer to the low traction side. The same problem can occur if the driver uses either gas or brake under uneven traction. When braking, the car will veer to the high traction side. Two- or three-wheeled vehicles with round-profile tires, such as bicycles and motorcycles, virtually never suffer from hydroplaning in normal road use. The contact area with the road is a canoe-shaped patch which effectively squeezes water out of the way. Speeds of 200mph or more are necessary to achieve hydroplaning on narrow round-profile tires

What would cause a car to shimmy and the steering wheel shake When checking out the tires one rim of the tire was so hot that it burnt your hand What would cause this?

One of the brake calipers or drums is not completely releasing. If it's a disk brake, replace the calipers. If it's a drum, check the emergency brake cable.

Is index and Balancing needed on new tires?

Yes, balancing is matching the tire to the rim. No two tires or rims are exactly the same and so balancing is always required when mounting a different tire to a rim.

Do i need to reset my computer after installing a cold air intake for my kia rio 06?

Short answer is no. When the car warms up after installing the intake, take it for a drive, the mass air flow sensor will tell the computer there's more air and the computer will automatically adjust. If you reset the computer, the calibrations from all the sensors is lost and must be relearned. On some vehicles, during the relearning process, the engine may run rough and the transmission may shift harder or slip until the drive cycle is complete. Save the headache, the computer should take care of everything.
