Car Smells

You wouldn't be able to smell anything if the wrong spark plug was installed.
The first thing you need to do is make sure that you do have the correct type of spark plug installed. That kind of thing is figured out by engineers when they design the engine and you don't want to put the wrong heat range or depth spark plug in your VERY EXPENSIVE engine.
Most smells are caused by fluids on hot components. If the smell started right after you did the work, maybe you had some oil in the spark plug holes that dripped on something else. Otherwise, look around for wispy smoke or fumes of any kind to find the cause of odors. Check for spots underneath the vehicle that would indicate something leaking.
If you find nothing, you were probably over sensitive after the wrong plugs were installed and since you were looking for something wrong, you have found a smell that might be the normal smell of the engine when it is warmed up.

Possibly if it is leaking.

Probably valve gasket leak.

Can be done yourself but requires some moderately complicated disassembly.

Did you check your serpentine belt?

Also, check your coolant level, hoses, and thermostat area to see if you have a leak. The thermostat/housing is another part I have heard of cracking under pressure and maybe this could be reasons for overheat...?

These cars are famous if previously owned by law enforcement/ fire dept. having stuff mounted on the upper deck of the trunk. It is quite common for the installers to use too long of screws and puncture the tank this usually is not noticed until after the removal of said equipment. It is most notable when you fill up. I have seen this many times before. Drop the tank and check the Drivers side the closest as that is where most of the equipment is usually mounted.

Motor oil has drained into combustion chamber - probably just run until oil burns off

Several thing scan cause a burning smell from a car A/C. One cause can be that the compressor is burning up. Another possibility is a wiring shortage.

Check your fuel cap or gas tank for leaks, or maybe the gas lines.

I am having the same problem with my Ford Explorer 2011. When I accelerate to 60-65 I start smelling the smell. I have had my car in and out of service for the past year about this smell and they finally told me it is the carburator.

I have an alternative answer. Try pet deodorant on the back seat. But the type that neutralizes odor. Consider just pouring half the bottle on thecar seat and let it soak in.

Clean up spillage and then let it sit. The extra will eventually evaporate. This worked for my seat with dog diarrhea. Good luck.

look for a leaky fuel line

time for a new calitic converter its befor the muffler on the exhaust system

If the Car is taking on the smell of gasonline while on and running it usually means that the car has an exhaust leak. more than likely around the headers. I would have the exhaust system checked out.

check you carborator float height.it may be causing the carb bowl to overfill. that fixed my 2000 spyder

A sweet smell indicates engine coolant. It you can't see any leaking from the hoses in the engine compartment, it's probably the heater core. With the smell coming from the vents too, it's most likely the heater core, but rule out easy fixes first.

I am battling with the dealer on this very issue. They "disinfected" the system twice ($89+ each) and deodorized it once (no charge) all within the last 12 months. I recently found out that there is an air condition filter...NOT the regular air filter OR the cabin filter!!! I understand that mold and mildew builds up in there and need to be cleaned. Problem is, it's a big job and COMPLETELY under warrantee. I believe they are dragging their feet waiting for my warrantee to expire...hence the battle! Hope this helps!
