If it's a gas heater it could be a gas leak. It is probably best to get it checked out.

the first few times i use the heat-it smells-the dust in the duct system is pulling into furnace , and burning...goes away. can you describe the smell .. is it gas, forced hot air( vents / ducts ) or hot water and radiators- not likely- this info. are nedded to answer accurately...

If a car is running too rich, the air to fuel mixture is not right. Running rich means that there is too much fuel (gas) going into the engine for the amount of air going in. On the opposite side, too lean would mean that there is not enough fuel going in for the amount of air. Cars can run rich when the oxygen sensors go bad, or on older cars, if the carburetor is not adjusted properly. Running rich can be accompanied by a distinct exhaust smell, and in the extreme cases, some blue smoke. The inside of the exhaust pipe will be black if a car has run rich for any amount of time (when it's cool, take a light colored rag and wipe it inside the end of the tailpipe-if it comes out black, the car is probably running rich).

If an automobile battery is in normal condition, there should be very little smell from it. The one smell that you should be aware of is the smell of rotten eggs, which indicates severe and dangerous problems with the battery. Once a battery begins to smell like rotten eggs, it cannot be saved, but must be immediately replaced. Please be aware that rotten-egg batteries can explode. Rotten-egg batteries are frequently much hotter than normal batteries would be, and the hot rotten-egg batteries are the most dangerous. The most common cause of rotten-egg batteries is an alternator which constantly overcharges, so the alternator should usually be replaced along with the battery.

if you have had any brake work done lately more than likely their is air in the lines and you need to bleed the air out again if no brake work has been done then their is a couple of other possibilities either the calipers are sticking or the splitter blocks mounted just under the master cylinder are going bad!

First of all, check the condition of the tank if it is good then chech gaskets and hoses for the fuel pump.

I don't think there is a problem. New cars have paints and coatings on the parts for shipping. When the car gets hot, these paints and coatings burn off thus giving off burning smells. We drive Kia vehicles and they have a very strong burning smell at first. If you get the same smell, may be normal. It not, then the first car's smell may be sign of something unusual. If It Smells Like butt LOL Its ur brakes and its perfectly Normal Your Fuel Also Has something to do with it try to sticc to supreme for a while dont mix different octane grades after a couple hundred miles the smell should be gone!

usually the air conditioner drain tube is plugged up, if water doesn.t run out freely when the air conditioner or defroster is on, chances are the evaporator core drain is blocked and the water in the box has begun to smell. The alternate possibility is that someone who doesn't like you has put fish guts in your heater intake.

I used scent stick to follow air flow (smoke) from engine department to the cabin. The cabin fan was turned on. No engine running. I light one stick and passed it between firewall and plastic molding on engine side along joint. Nothing was found (smoke was coming out through hood opening). Then, I put stick in the very right corner of the plastic molding, just above tower strut and inner fender. I saw smoke going through the cavities between upper grill on plastic molding and plastic molding itself into cabin. Same was found on the other side. I used rags (you can also use sponge) and pushed them in hollow passage between plastic molding and body on both side. You can feel with fingers the hollow passage just away from goose neck of the hood. This solved the problem.

The smell should go away on its own within a week ... if not, there is some unremoved shampoo in the carpet underpadding. It too will go away, it will just take a little longer.

It could possibly be the timing chain. If you remove the valve cover, you can inspect it to see if it is broken.

Every other oil change if you follow the 3000 mile guidines. If you have a longer oil change interval, say every 6000 miles, then having your tires rotated at every oil change is a good idea. Many shops also offer tire rotation either free with your oil change or discounted so I'd actively look for a place offering that to save money.

i can only presume is lack of engine oil or adjustment on tappets( pls be more detailed)or diesel engine it being a injector blowing

a rotten egg. perhaps a fart. maybe sulfor. could it be acid rain? a failed septic system, a passing motorists catalytic converter, someone booby trapped you and hid an egg somewhere. be more specific. where are you? There is a gas leak nearby. Notify the authorties. Or you may be smelliing a meth lab. still notify the authorities.

Could be your heater core leaking - stick your fingers under the front edge of the carpet in the right front passenger area and see if its damp (caution : don't lick your fingers afterwards )

YES, IF THE OIL HAD RUN OUT YOU WILL PROBIBLY START TO PUSH THE CON RODS THROUGH THE ENGINE BLOCK. GET A NEW ENGING

the inside of your car will smell like exhaust if you have C.F (cabin filter) in you car and it has not been changed recently This may sound dumb, but some people may miss it. If you have a car in front of you that smells bad, or are in a smelly environment, and you don't have the recycle air button on, "fresh air" will enter the car.

That is a good possibility.It also could be running lean and causing it to smell that way.If it starts running poorly or wont accelerate then you will have to replace it.
