Car Stereos and Speakers

On a molded 2- or 3-wire line cord the ribbed conductor is the neutral conductor. On a polarized 2-prong plug it will be connected to the wider blade. On some line cords the neutral conductor may have a white stripe instead of ribs.

If you are going to hook it up to a home stereo you might check with someone at a sereo installation store to see if it will damage the stereo or the amp but in order for the amp to work you would need to purchase a power converter to reduce the power from 110 ac to 12v dc I don't believe it will hurt the stereo or amp but to be safe checking beats guessing! I am not much of a stereo buff all I really know about is engines transmissions and basic electonics such as lights on cars sorry I can't help you very much! Good luck!

You "can" add a four ohm resistor in series with a four ohm speaker, and make it look like an eight ohm speaker, however, the frequency response will not be the same. It is better to use to correct speaker for the amplifier, or use two four ohm speakers in parallel.

That resistors power rating must exceed the rating of the speaker. Half the from the amplifier will go to the speaker, while half will go to the resistor, making it get quite hot.

Open the glove box and start there, remove any screws found holding the trim, gently pry to release tabs and find missed screws, use a proper wire harness adapter and dash istallation kit.

Press function button to display clock and change using arrows

Step 1. Buy the Installation Kit and Wiring harness that fits the car. ( These cars have ribbon type harnesses and can seriously mess up your car if done incorrectly)

Step 2. Tap into the positive wire from the cigarette lighter for Acc power to aftermarket units.

Step 3. Pull out bezel (just pry out and gently pull.)

Step 4. Pop clips that hold radio in (4) and Pull. (these cars have a dock and lock system)

Step 5. Most aftermarket headunits are deeper than the space provided, Trim the back of stereo compartment as needed.

Step 6. Use wiring harness to wire setero to factory plug. (connect the previously tapped cig lighter wire to the Acc wire on headunit (usually red).

Step 7. Mount using the Dash Kit by the indtructions provided.

Step 8. replace bezel.

Step 9. Test unit and enjoy.

unplug the electrical from the antenna. replace antenna.

if you have an factory infinity system they usually have a small inline amp at each speaker. not built into the factory deck. you have to remove or wire arround each amp before you install an aftermarket deck. or you'll just get humming and static. In the trunk on the driver side wall,under the carpet.

I have no answer for you but mine does the same thing.

By bridging a sub it means that you are combining the power of two channels of your power amplifier into one, which then runs your sub. Not all power amplifiers are bridgeable though.

You remove four screws with a small L key and then carefully remove the top plastic from the speaker ......then remove the speaker from the lower plastic.....Its a bit tuff but it can be done and then replace speaker.....you also need to remove the receiving part from old speaker and use it to connect you new one. or you can cut off the plug and connect speaker direct and tape it

bro for your car the door chimes and the igntion wires are in the facotry deck u need to go to best buy and buy a special wiring harness for $150 trust me i have experince try looking on eBay first

The above is half true. If you remove the factory deck out of your 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 sunfire or cavalier. (same car) All you will lose is your door chimes. If you have onstar, which most sunfires and cavaliers don't, you will lose that too. If you don't have onstar and don't care about your door chimes, a regular 2000+ sunfire wire adaptor will work fine. You'll just have to provide 12v from somewhere else. you can get a fuse expander at wal'mart that allows you to add another fuse in the fuse panel with a single wire connected to it (red) just attach a long enough wire to that and run it under the dashboard to the CD player and connect it the red wire of the deck. Hook everything else up the same as you normally would and you just saved yourself over a $100.

To remove the speakers you have to take out your seats in the back. You have to remove the bottom one first. Then unbolt the seat belts and the bolts by them that will lossen up the back rest part of the seat. then pull the clip to the carpet area that goes up over your speakers. Then pop the clip in the trunk push up on the speakers take out 4 screw and install your new speakers. Put everything back in and bolt bown your seat belts. Not a hard job 30 min. took me with a brake.

Don't know how you have subs wired but should be 4 ohm load is what your amp will see.

Take the door panel off. There are a few screws to remove that are 7 mm and if you dont have power locks, the plastic slider to lock the door needs removed. if you have a window crank, you will need to push in on the door panel to remove the horseshoe shaped clip from behind the handle. also remove the plastic piece around the handle. Pull out on the bottom after all screws and parts are removed and pick UP! toward the sky. The panel does not pop outword!!!!!! remove the speaker. There are two wires that go to a plastic clip that plugs into the speaker and that can be cut off if you are not replacing the speaker with a factory one. You can hard wire in the new speaker and install. If bolt holes do not line up with new speaker use a few self tappers and put the door panel back together.

Sometimes i can be an opinion thing. So far my favorite is Kicker, everything i have is Kicker. They are a really trust worthy brand for me so far nothing has messed up for me yet and ive had it for 2 years. So i believe that Kicker is.

Workaround : 1. Determine howmany wires and which color 2. Take multimeter and test the continuity Usaully, Black=Ground If you have two blue wired then they must be positive For one speaker use black and blue Mr Yogi

If your car stereo is always hot at all times it shouldn't go out or has connectivity when at "start" Turning the key from "on" to "start" temporarily cuts out the power connectivity. Stereos are not designed to have power at "start" because pretty much the starter uses much amperage and voltage from the battery the seconds while the engine is being cranked

Both the front door speakers and the speakers in the rear are standard Ford 6"x8".

First of all, don't buy a replacement speaker from Lincoln. I recall they wanted some $600 just for the speaker. I modified one I bought at Walmart for about $30, no problem. You will have to remove all the plastic panels from the rear of the vehicle to the back of the right rear door. The whole process should take about 1.5 hrs. I did my 1998 a couple of years ago, so I don't recall all the details, but your average guy should be able to do this without much of a problem.

better known as 12inch kicker comp. it doesnt cost that much to be a kicker around $60. you can purches this speaker at onlinecarstereo.com or crutchfield.com. when this amp is bridged its 150rms watts and 300w witch is getting the peak proformace out of it. the ratings of it bridged is also what the speaker calls for. so when its matched together dont be afraid to turn up the settings to the max it will hold trust me. this is the set up i have and it sounds great.
