NO IT CANT CAUSE A VAC. LEAK. BUT IF ITS A MEC.FUEL PUMP I HAD THE SAME PROB WITH MY 305. I CANGED THE PUMP AND SOLVED THE PROB.

Your rotors may be out of balance. When my 2001 Silverado was not only 3 months off of the dealers lot I had this same problem that persisted for sometime. The dealer finally realized the problem and changed out both front rotors.

The crankshaft is longer due to the 1 piece rear main seal from 1988 and up to date.

chevy is better because they dont fall apart like the fords plus chevys can haul more. if you go on you tube and look up videos on them you will see. ford is ok but i dont know whats your opion?

attach the green wire to the negative terminal of the coil. if its an hei, it will have a terminal that says tach on it.

1 Take off fan belt2 Remove the fan from the front of the water pump using a wrench to loosen the nut behind the fan3 Disconnect all hoses4 Remove the water pump- there are four bolts, two on each side5 Replace both gaskets and use a sealer6 Then put the water pump back on7 After that comes the fan8 Then put the belt back on Now your ready to go.....

1-6-5-4-3-2 and the dist turns clockwile.

The earlier ones were 180, later ones were 195. 195 is usually better, unless you're trying to crutch an undersized cooling system. Better off to repair/replace/upgrade as needed to run higher temps for better engine efficiency.

If it's an automatic, it goes in the dipstick tube. There are special funnels available for this purpose.

First of all Chevy did not make a vortec engine in 1987 or 1995, those engines are TBI / Throttle body injection engines. And yes they will interchange with no problems.

That totally depends on how MUCH MONEY your wanting to spend. Myself I wouldn't spend any money on a 305 engine. I would get me a good 350 engine to build.

Disconnect the battery. Unhook the wiring on the end of the solenoid. If there is a support bracket on the end of the starter, unhook it. If the exhaust is in the way, unhook that. Remove the two bolts that hold the starter to the back of the block.

The EGR system recirculates dirty unburnt emission gases back into your engine through the intake manifold which decreases performance, but improves gas mileage. You can bypass the EGR valve. Just buy a block off plate from you local speed shop. However, the EGR valve is there to cool the combustion chamber so without it, you will hear a lot of pinging until the motor melts.
