Grab the filter with your hand or a filter wrench and turn counterclockwise.

1) The 4.3 is too short and would take a ton of redesign to make it fit.

2) The computer control (PCM) is completely different.

3) Why would you put the wimpy 4.2 with less power into the truck?

You did not say what you are working on, YEAR AND ENGINE SIZE.

But in most cases or designs the water pump can not leak oil into the coolant. The water pump has nothing to do with the engine oil.

Does the engine have a engine oil cooler on it ? That would be 2 oil lines just above the oil filter that runs down the side of the engine oil pan a go to the radiator. There are tubes inside of the radiator that oil flows through and they are none to leak oil into the engine coolant that's inside of the RADIATOR. If they are leaking then REPLACE RADIATOR. BUT like I said I don't know what you are working on.

Remove the alternator belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. Remove the wiring from the alternator. Remove the retaining bolts to the alternator. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.

The SES light reports any issue sent to it from the myriad of sensors throughout the car. If the light goes out it means that the condition has cleared. It's obvious that at start up the condition does not exist but only shows itself once the car has warmed up a bit and has been driven. Have the computer scanned; lookup the code and repair whatever may be causing the condition.

It's located under the leaf screen. Remove the wiper arms, the the leaf screen. The wiper pivot arms connect to the wiper motor. The leaf screen, by the way, is the louvered part through which the wiper pivots protrude. Sorry, I didn't read the question correctly. You asked about the windshield washer motor which is located under the passenger side front fender apron. Look under the lower front inside the apron.

It's in the trunk. Right side behind the interior trunk trim.

we have an 03 impala that misfires and has fluctuating water temp, and no heat unless on hiway.anyone have any suggestions? maybe?

If you take care of it with regular maintenance and you live in an area that does not salt the roads in winter, you should get 15 yrs out of it. Maybe more.

These models came stock with a release button below the cigarette lighter. If you look directly to the right of the radio there should be a button to push that will release the glass and then once its open, your tailgate should open once you do it manually.

Plug a code scanner into the OBD and find out if any computer codes are stored. You could have an injector problem, a dirty air filter, bad plugs, bad plug wires or any of a number of other problems. The computer code will give you a little direction, even if it doesn't show any stored codes. Without stored codes it tells you what ISN'T wrong.

It shouldn't. My 94 4.3L runs smoothly at all rpms and all temps. I've had it over 9 years, so I've had a lot of time to notice something like that. i'd start checking for codes, then do a tune-up.

Agreed.. check for codes ..if none found do a tune up..plugs wires cap rotor.. and may want to replace coil to eliminate that as well.. there are number of other things it could be if that doesnt solve it..but it's cheapest and easiest to start with..

there should be a factory tag on the drivers side door jamb giving factory recommended tire size.

YES, However, the heads are different on the 1996. they are the most sought after Vortex heads..everything will bolt right up and run great.

Have you checked the gas floater in the gas tank?

it could be anywere from one thousand to ten thousand dollars ..... I say this becoues the dont make them any more ...... like a rock chevy trucks are the best ........

The cause could be a fuel injector stuck open. On the 4.3 262 v6 chevrolet used the spyder injection system which is know to stick open or closed. Also you could have a bad thermostat. The thermostat could not be closing properly causing the car to over cool and keep the engine control computer in open loop thus injecting excessive fuel constantly.
