When changing an ignition coil on a 1999 Mercury Cougar, it is very important that all of the spark plug wires are put back on exactly as they were taken off. A set of markers will help to identify what wire goes where. Take off each spark plug wire one at a time and place it in the same position on the new coil. Before taking the wires off it will help to color code them with markers.

305/350? 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 in a clockwise direction. # 1 is driver side front plug

no it does not it's fuel injected.

It is most likely a TBI(4.3Liter )not Multiport (4.3 Liter Vortec)

its under the glove department. and if its like my blazer under the little shelf like thing under the glove department.

i checked with my brother who is a a.s.e. certified mechanic. it is 11 ft-lbs be sure to chase the threads with a tap and die set, and use locktite. to much torque will ruin the gasket, and not enough will cause a manifold leak.

Yes. The fan fails in the early model years as parts inside disolve and the valve becomes clogged. This creates a lock-up condition and it roars like crazy. It must be replaced and takes about 2 hours. Consult a manual for instructions or join our forum for detailed instructions online.

requires removal of center section of grill....sounds tough but it's not 2 or 3 screrws on top and I believe 2 on bottom,, then snap out the center section change the bulbs and reinstall center of grill...time about 45 minutes 1st time and about 30 minutes second time......

You may have a bad fuel injector. Try to single out which cylinder is dead, then remove that spark plug, if the plug is clean and dry you have a faulty fuel injector.

It depends on your climate but, in most cases a 5W-30 is used.

Try setting timing to "TDC" No. 1 cylinder on compression stroke Make sure firing order is correct Should start at this point and then set timing from there

You will have to remove the transmission pan that is on the bottom of the transmission to drain the fluid.

There is no Transfer case oil. Just Transmission oil and that goes in the dipstick tube after the dipstick is removed. if its a standard there is a plug on the side of the tranny underneat fill to plug level

The fuel pump is electric. It is located in the fuel tank. I replaced mine this past winter. Exhaust andrearend need to be lowered out of the way.I did this on jackstands would have been easier if the car had been raised higher in the air as you have to twist the tank to get the filler neck out of the rear qtr. I bought a GM pump ($80)from the local Chevy dealer --as a note it did not include the in tank filter ($16)which goes on the pump. I had to order it afterward and it held me up a couple of days.

Under the vehicle, drivers side, aprox under the drivers seat, inside the frame rail.

ok to add to this question here is the deal wilth it first thing first checked fluid fluid fine no leaks line pressure fine it drives up to 35 mph and no faster and since i had to get it home i had to drive it like that for about 90 miles still drives fin just wont go pass 35 and the other thing that got me when i was going 35 it was at 2500 rpm the whole way home and i knew that wasn't rite but any way ok and when i try to go faster it feels like its in nutruel then when it slows down back to 35 it grips the gear again

All 1995-2005 Chevrolet Blazers take 20" replacement windshield wiper blades on both sides front. The rear wiper blade is a 14".

When the heater core rusted out in my vc commodore, it leaked coolant into the passenger side of the car.

When my EB Falcon stopped blowing hot air, it was the thermostat on the motor.

You can guess which was cheaper to repair :)

Take the thermostat housing off and just see if it is all rusted and rotted underneath (as mine was) or take it to a mechanic to check.

1. Try holding the shift lever against the "Park" position while taking the key out. 2. Try turning the steeringwheel to the left and or right while taking the key out. 3. Try to pres the key further into the switch, then turning it to the lock position, and take it out. 4. Try pressing on the brake peddle while taking the key out. This has worked on my daughter's 2001 Buick Regal.
