I can think of Three things,
1. Thremostat stuck open.
2. Poor quality radiator hose or the spring inside is bent or missing.
3. Low water level in radiator.

thermostat on 3.1 engine is located on driver side right behind manifold crossover. remove air breather. u need 1/2 inch socket for left bolt, right hand bolt is very hard to get to.

i just changed thermostat for daughters 98 Malibu with 3.1. good luck

Amateur with idea: Mine started out that way, became more often, then no sound/effect when I turned key. Eventually I had to replace my starter. Bought starter at CarQuest (you will get some money refunded when you return the old starter back to store). Mechanic charged me $60 to put it in, only took him a few hours between other customers*-*

YOUR TALKING ABOUT TWO DIFFERENT SYSTEMS, ENGINE COOLING FAN AND AN INTERNAL HEATING/AIR CONDITIONING FAN? WHICH IS IT?

One symptom of a bad time chaining is a shaking when the engine is in idle. The valves in the engine may also clatter or knock and the car could also backfire.

I believe there is one on the driver side buy the brake pedal.And one under the hood.I used to own a 1993 a long time ago a Beretta and a corsica.

The one on driver side is a panel on the side of the dash just as you enter the car. It's held closed by velcro.

Mine does not. Perhaps you a low on coolant.

Follow the top radiator hose out of the radiator, there you will find a half round metal piece with 2 bolts in it, remove those 2 bolts and there is your thermostat.By the way buy your replacement thermostat 1st ( $6.00 at advanced auto ) as the gasket is installed directly to the thermostat.

If I am not mistaken, one would find a diagram of the belt's pulley system pasted on a sticker in the engine compartment usually either on the top pulley or next to the hood release in front of the radiator. If not, one should notice grooved surfaces for the pulleys that come in contact with the inside of the belt, and smooth surfaces for the outside. TO REMOVE/INSTALL, find the pulley attached to a spring-loaded arm. This pulley releases the tension on the belt by using a wrench(crescent works best) placed on the center bolt which will not turn but instead will help move that spring-loaded arm. .

Also instead of using the wrench on the bolt itself on the end of the idler bracket (there is a square end near the radiator) you will have lots more leverage to work with but one of the drawbacks is that it is a little difficult to do this by ones self.

The firing order is printed on the block, 1-3-4-2 if I remember correctly.

Start at the position nearest to the coil and continue clockwise.

get spring compressor or rent 1 loosen front wheels located to big bolts at bottom of strut remove you will need a rubber mallet to hit the large bolts out of strut and hub assembly then remove 19mm bolt and coter pin from outter tie rod dont hit bolt from underneath hit strut w/ hammer til the tie rod loosens the go to under hood locate stut tower remove 3 13mm bolts remove strut apply spring compressor to spring compress the u will need to open end wrenchs to take top bolt off be carefully spring must be securly in compressor and compressed far enough down pull spring off place spring onto new strut tighten down top retaining bolt uncompress spring reverse order of steps when putting back in put top 3 bolts in strut tower first the put back larger hub/strut bolts the 19mm tie rod bolt w/ coter pin you will need a wheel alignment after you done chaning both struts

in the glovebox.

On most GM products it is located very near the starter in one of the two smaller wires that connect to the starter. It looks like a tiny beer can.

the size of the tire is located on the id sticker on the drivers side door jam. the size is also in the owners manual.

not 100 percent but believe they are 185/70/r14 tires

Connect the wiring harness to the back of your new speakers. Secure the speakers into place with the retaining screws. Put the speaker cover on and secure it into place.

The vents are controlled by vaccuum lines. If a vent stops working the two mail causes are, hole in a vaccuum line, or broken or bent control arm. (On the side of the duct controller, usually under the middle of the dash.

Remove the rear seat and climb through. Take a pair of pliers with you. Twist flat bar rod that links to lock cylinder.

If the car will start, but will not turn off, the gear that connects to the ignition switch rod is probably broken. When you take the steering column apart, you will be able to see if it is broken. If it is, when you buy the rod, you get the gear with it as an assembly. If you are not familiar with the working of a steering column, you may want to leave this one to a pro., it can get aggravating to line everything up right.

in the fuel tank
