I discovered this situation while fiddling with the selector knobs in the dash. I still haven't fixed it completely. I removed the air position selector knob, the rear defrost button in the center and a little diode in the center that lights up when the rear defrost is on. Somehow I haven't got everything aligned and when you put everything back and snap the knob in to seat it, it's somehow forcing the system into defrost mode, which I assume is a fail-safe mode. I have removed the button from the center and now it seats and everything operates fine. I don't have the actual answer, but I know my '95 Stratus started doing this. I took it to the dealer and they told me that a solenoid need changed. It was only $35 for the part, but they said Chrysler had made a change that would require the entire computer to need changed IF the solenoid was changed. I told them to put it back together. Later, I remembered that it had happened previously, but started working after the battery had gone dead. Therefore, I made the deduction that by disconnecting the battery, I could reset the computer and make it work. The process worked and I have had to do it 3 or 4 more times. It always fixes the problem! Much cheaper than the $800 dollar computer they wanted to sell me. All you need to do is remove the fuse from the interior fues box, turn the car to ON (no need to start), turn the car off, replace the fuse, and all should be fixed. This is for if all speeds work, but it only comes from the defrost vents. If ONLY high works, then it is the blower motor resistor, which is a cheap part and can be found under the passenger side dash. Also an easy fix.

most of the time, the trim is just held on with spring clips. grab the edges with your fingernails & give it a sharp snap. yes, it is tight, but it should come off.
The other part holding the dash on besides spring clips is the cubby between both 12 dv plugs (cigarette lighter) has two screws that have to be removed. The screws are hidden. You have to open up the main drawer to get at them from beneath. Its a bit awkward. The top of the cubby then pulls off, but it doesn't have metal clips but plastic ones that can be easily broken if you pull too hard.

How do you replace rotors and brake pads on a 1996 Chevy 1500 express van?
first remove the tire and then you can remove the two larger bolts on the bracket that holds the cylinder and brake pads. The bolt size is either a 13/16 or 3/4 inch. Tap the rotor with a rubber mallet or hammer, if their are clips on the studs you need to remove them first and the rotor should come off and then slide the new one on over the studs and replace the clips if possible but not necessary. Next put the caliper back on and then replace the two larger bolts. You may have to open caliper cylinder by prying a flat head screw driver in between the pads and rotor then remove two smaller bolts which are 7/16 to 5/8 inch take out pads and replace with the new ones and shims if possible . make sure all bolts are tight as possible when putting back together also do not touch the rotors or brakes with dirty hands or gloves don't allow grease to get on these parts where the pads touch the rotors. will cause noise latter on.

Do this illegally and anyone gets inured while riding in your vehicle and you open yourself up to a costly lawsuit.

Great innovation!! The did not install the plug in the OE model. You will have to pay extra at a service center to get the radiator plug installed. It cost about $5.89 at NAPA and the service charge will be the cost of removing and installing a radiator!

Maybe the clutch is frozen. Has it sat up for a while?? If so, the clutch assembley could be full of rust and has frozen the clutch fingers to the pressure plate. You may have also dropped a gear or synchronize and it's stuck in some of the teeth on the third gear ring.
