If you do not have a routing (belt) diagram under your hood for some reason or other . Just go to any auto parts store and ask for a copy of routing diagrams from either their Gates Serpentine books or whoever supplies them with their serpentine belts . But they DO have that information . You will have to know how many pulleys your vehicle has though,so draw out your pulley position on a piece of paper! THIS IS A MUST in order to get the right route.
Where is the fuel filter on a 85 Chevy G20 5.0 350?
It should be at the fuel fitting to the carburetor, or more specifically, inside or behind the fitting. It's a small pleated cylinder that can only be removed by removing the fuel line first.
BTW, it's either a 5.0 or a 350. The 5.0 is a 305, the 350 is a 5.7. Make sure of your engine before starting.
You will need a 16mm for the small fuel line fitting and a 1" for the larger one. make sure that you have a wrench on both and be carefull that you dont twist the fuel line as it can rust together with the fittings

if you look close enough there is more than likely a hole in the floor board already for that very thing Its Possible To Cut The Hole. But Where It May Be Under The Trunk Floor. You Will Find It Is Best To Drop The Tank & Do A Good Job, & Its Probably Less Hasle Than Cutting A Hole. Also There Is A Chance Of Blowing Your Self Up.

1994 Chevy van g20 adjust Rear door?
If it is out of alignment about the front to back axis: (Top or bottom sticks out.)
THERE ARE BOLTS ON THE DOORS INSIDE THE CAB UNLOOSE EACH ONE CAREFULLY, SHUT DOOR, ALIGN.... OPEND DOOR CAREFULLY TIGHTEN CLOSE, ADJUST TIGHTEN COMPLETELY
If it is out of alignment on the vertical axis: (From people using it to hoist themselves into the vehicle.)
Done gently, this will not damage the paint, do it with the door as closed as possible, parking next to a short drop is best to get the door more closed.
Brake Boosting is when (in a turbo equipped vehicle) you press the breaks firmly enough to start slowing you down, while increasing throttle to keep you at your original speed.
Doing so allows you to put your engine under more load (AKA build more boost) at a lower speed, commonly used in street racing to provide the driver an advantage in a race with a rolling start.

this is actually called LFB or left foot breaking completely different form brake boosting
the brake booster reduces the pedal effort by using engine vacuum on one side of a diaphragm to assist in pedal travel.
LFB will keep the turbo spooled up and give you more torque on corner exit.
the two are completely different...

What would cause your steering column on a G20 van to become loose?
There are 4 bolts at the bottom of the steering column that tend to get loose after entering and exiting your vehicle. Pulling your self up on the steering wheel puts stress the steering column and causes it to become loose. If you do not correct the problem fast by tightening the bolts you will have to replace the entire steering column..

How do you install a brake light switch?
It all depends on the type of vehicle. Most of them are as follows. Disconnect the wires on the back of the switch, loosen the lock nut on the switch, unscrew the switch from the bracket. Reverse the order for switch installation. Adjust the switch by screwing the switch in until it contacts the pedal and turns off the brake lights, then tighten the lock nut. That's about all there is to it.
On some Dodge/Chrysler Models such as my 97 Caravan the Stop Lamp Switch was fairly easy to uninstall.
Its recommended to have someone push the brake pedal for you, can be tough to push it while trying to get his out.

How do you repair the horn on a Chevy G20?
before going through a lot of time and expense, clean the contacts on horn and on wires that connect to horn. i bought horn and put in another switch befor i found out the contacts were ditry. expanded answer by RFXK (10/17/06): I had this same problem and went crazy looking for a bad relay. Apparently there ISN'T a horn relay for the G-20. Probably you have one of two problems, frozen diaphragms in the horn units, or corroded contacts on their housings. For the diaphragms, take a regular hammer and give each horn a dozen firm taps - rattle them good and hard. Then try again. This is what worked for me this past weekend. For the contacts, take the connectors off (expect to lose a little skin doing it), and use a tiny wire brush to scrap the corrosion off the tab on the horn housing (both horns). One of those tiny mirrors on a flex stick helps you see what's going on - the tabs are brilliantly located in their most inaccessible orientation. Use a tiny screwdriver to scrap the metal contacts in the connectors a few times. Apply a TINY amount of dielectric grease to the tabs (it's not conductive, so don't get dumb about it) and put the connectors back on. If it isn't either of these, either no power is getting to the horn, or both horns are croaked. You can check the power situation by running a clip-on from the tab of either horn and touching the other end to the positive battery lead (make sure you're making good contact at both ends). If the horn beeps, then you probably have a broken wire or (less likely) the switches in the steering wheel are bad. If no beep, probably bad horns. Good luck!

Where do you find a diagram for a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier serpentine belt routing?
open the hood and look up, it will be right in front of you. If that does not work, you can buy a haynes or chiltons manual.
My first thought is that it could be the fuel filter or even the hall pick-up. UPDATED ANSWER: Most likely and (thankfully) an easy fix is your idle air control valve. If you're like me, you most likely give it a little gas when you start it, which opens the throttle, allowing air into the engine. As soon as you let off the gas and the throttle closes, your engine has to rely on the idle air control (IAC) valve on the back of the throttle body for air. If this valve is faulty or simply clogged, it's probably behind your stalls. First try to clean it with normal carb & choke cleaner and a SOFT nylon flexible brush. The IAC valve is very easy to damage. After removing the air filter housing, the IAC valve will be in the rear center of the throttle body. If cleaning doesn't fix the problem, a replacement can be had at most auto parts stores for around $50 - $75. Obviously not cheap, so DON'T break it if it isn't already broken. Hope this helps :)
How do you remove the rear doors on a Chevy G20 Van?
There are four bolts holding the each rear door, two per each hinge. A 9/16 socket will ratchet it loose. One person can do it, but two people is easier. The doors pull straight out. The passenger side rear door has electrical wires that need to be removed first.

Not much info in the question... The way I see it, you're asking why your van won't shift into second unless you step on the gas.
Assuming that you have an automatic, as I don't think a standard transmission was available any more in 1995, your van should not be shifting into second until you're travelling at relative speed. When I drive, mine usually shifts into second somewhere between 15 and 30 mph, depending on how hard I accelerate.
If you're using the gear selector to put it into second, then what you're really doing is telling it not to use third gear. It will start out in first, and then go to second when it picks up some speed.
Essentially, that means all is normal, and you have nothing to worry about. Unless that's not you're problem.
