im working on mine this afternoon so ill post your answer today ive owned so many of them and put nice systems in each but can never remember colores of factory

usually on the left of the engine between the first two spark plugs

1984-1992 v6 late model under seat black box connected to computer if you are lookinf for (ECM) electronic control module.

1992 v8 is in same place ..driver side

The spark control module on a 1989 Chevrolet model van is located in the distributor. To check its life, one must remove the distributor cap and unplug the center coil wire. Replace with a clean, brand new spark plug, and test the van's ignition.

A 95 did not have IAT sensor

It has gotten better. They add new stuff to Build-A-Bearville all the time. So you should check every month at least twice.

Partial Answer by RFXK (2/13/07): Do you mean physical size or cold cranking amps? The physical size is limited by the battery tray in the van. I haven't measured it, but it's not very big, on a qualitative scale call it medium/large. Note that if you get a battery that is physically larger than the tray, you will have to disconnect the wires around the battery area in order to be able to slip it in (it's a pretty tight space), and then you're going to have to figure out some way to secure it on top of the tray; in my opinion, this is not worth it. The rated CCA is (I think) 550 CCA. That doesn't sound all that big either, but I own three G vans and 550 has been perfectly adequate all the way down to zero to 10 degrees. Note that any auto parts store that sells batteries will be able to tell you exactly what you need (that they have). As a general comment, it is ALWAYS worth the extra 20 or 25 bucks to get a top of the line battery (like an Interstate or a Nationwide) versus getting something generic from a chain store. A good battery will cost you about 70 bucks, and it will take you about 30 minutes to do the switch, assuming you have the proper tools and a clue. Hope this helps.

it is under the hood up tight under the windshield in the middle of the van buy one and compare. then you will find it.

Try taking out your glove box and see if there is a cover behind there to take off and it should be exposed. it will take time to put it in but that's the only way.

It is on the transmission, drivers side!

drop trans pan/drain fluid,look for a 2 or 3 wire plug that plugs into a tall,kinda t-shaped,and has copper windings around the bottom of it.its held in by two 10mm bolts.unplug and remove it,pop new one in,tighten down,plug it in,reinstall pan and gasket.refill trans with 4 quarts of trans fluid.start engine,check for trans pan leaks, let it run up to operating temp,check trans dipstick level,add fluid if needed to full mark on stick.road test van ,shift thru all gears,then check for leaks and check level again.

From My experience, there is not a single stock rear end. It depends on engine, body/chasis length, 2wd/4wd, tow package, etc. In Researching my 2005 purchase, there were no less than 6 rear ends they put in that year alone. I can tell you that I had a 2005 2500HD with the 6 litre engine, and it had a 4.10 gear, my 05 1/2 ton ex cab long bed had a 3.73, my 05 crew cab has a 3.08 . Go figure..... The VIN will tell you what a particular truck has in it, however. I found a site (have deleted bookmark, sorry) that you can put in the VIN for GM vehicles and it will tell you what the vehicle has in it. Very helpful for a guy looking for a specific rear end and other specs. Most used dealers don't know specific details like that....

The curb weight of a 1994 Chevy G20 Van will vary depending on engine and transmission size. The weight can be anywhere from 6,000 to 6,600 pounds. Equipment inside the van cargo area is also a factor. Seats will weight more than cabinet panels.

You most likely have a 4L60E 4speed automatic. This a very common trans. The build code for that trans. is M30. Look in glove box for a factory installed sticker listing the build code for that vehicle. There will be quit a few #'s & letters listed.

The '94 had two sizes. 22 gallon and 33 gallon. If you get below a quarter tank, and it takes 25 gallons or more to fill up, you can assume you have a 33 gallon tank! I have put almost 34 gallons in my 91 Chevy Van that I bought new. In 17 years, I have come to know that Van pretty well. Could be I was almost dry and the fill hose holds a gallon.

Check all of your front suspension bushings. Sometimes they dry rot. Make sure you check the control arms and shocks also. Get help doing this if you need to. ADDITION: Also, it may be a bad motor mount. could be a problem with the wishbone or track rodend possilbe bent strut as well

If it's a 350ci the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

My 04 PT that we have had since new, has done the same thing 2 or 3 times since we purchased it. I found that disconnecting and reconnecting the battery cables will reset this problem and it operates normally afterward..Greg Mn

Lots of things to factor in on such a question- mileage/condition of motor, rear end gear ratio & driving habits to name a few. I have a 1995 G20 Gladiator Conversion van 114,000 miles 5.7 4L60E 3:42 gears - Maintained like its the last one on Earth. In town 11/12 mph out on the hiway family with me cruise set at what ever the speed limit may be and have gotten 15/16 mph. Bowtiefan
