Look for the first ingredient to be a protein such as lamb or chicken and the next to be rice and not too many more to follow.These foods will cost quite a bit more but you feed them much less(so it goes further)and they potty #2 MUCH less because their body absorbs most of the nutrients instead of passing out fillers.The dogs appearance will be much nicer too like shiny hair,clear eyes,more energy and so on.
