How do you fix a hazard light switch on a Ford Taurus 1995. Turn Signals work but Hazzard button won't push in?

New Imput: Before you go through the hassell of attempting to remove the lower steering column cover (and the lower cover plate) like I did...try this first. You can press and release the hazard light switch multiple times; It isn't used very often, so it gets gunked-up. Someone else's answer said to spray some WD40 around the button...I was concerned about putting any liquid where an electrical current passes thru a switch (I guess WD40 isn't just a liquid). If that doesn't work, then you should be able to access the switch under the dash without removing either of the steering column covers or the lower panel; unless the problem exists on the button located on top of the steering wheel. I've had to fix a lot of things on my 1999 Fxxx Txxxxx, now I am swapping out usable parts on my 1998, don't even get me started abot the transmission or the overheating problems I've had. Thanks for the detailed directions below if any of these steps don't help. FordStrated...get it? Frustrated most likely it is the multi-function switch, which also includes the turn signals and light dimmer switch. You will need to remove the plastic shroud around the steering wheel. Also, you will need to remove the ignition switch to access it. Simply unplug it and install the new one. They are about $45-50 dollars at a parts store.

Why would the maintenance required light be on in your 1992 Dodge Caravan?

some of these newer vehicles are very sensitive in the way they are made and can let you know that they need to be checked as your vehicle has done, they are also programmed to let you know when a sensor is getting ready to go bad on you. Unfortunately the warning lights don't tell you which one is going bad, but these chrysler, plymouth, dodge vehicle do have a system on them that will blink a code to you. If you turn the key on and off 3 times and watch for the( check engine light) blinks, it may give you a hint as to what might be the prob, but you will need to buy a Hanes or Chilton manual from a parts store to get the codes, unless you know a mechanic, or go online to get them.

Will 2007 headliner in dodge gran caravan fit a 99?

It's not likely. The parts that are interchangeable with the '99 come from model years 1996-2000 Caravan, Voyager, & Town and Country.

**Correction** Instead of "Caravan, Voyager, & Town and Country," I should have specified the caravan and voyager as "Grand." The base model is shorter than the grand so those won't fit a grand caravan/voyager. Usually the Town & Country wheelbase is the same size as the "Grand" models of Caravan & Voyager.

2000 dodge caravan 3.6l transmission fluid leaking?

you probably have a gasket leak. or worst possiblility is a crack pan. In either case take it in and have the tranny looked at. When was the last time you had you transmission oil changed? Did it start after it was changed? Possibly if you haven't had it changed in 50,000 miles take it in and they can change the fluid and usually replace the gasket. This may stop it from leaking.

What would cause the hazard lights to come on on their own after the car is turned off?

The light control module could be the cause of hazard lights coming on after the car is turned off. There could be a problem that has caused this module to become wet and it is now not working correctly.

How do you troubleshoot a 2001 grand prix windshield washer?

you have to jack the car up. The pump is located near the bottom of the bottle on the passenger side somewhat under the battery. You can reach up and unplug the electrical connector that supplies power to the pump, its in between the fender and the bottle so its not the best spot to get at but it can be done fairly easy, the other connector that you can see easily is your level indicator so leave that one. Once unplugged have someone run the washer and use a meter to see if you are getting approx. 12 volts if not then something is wrong with either the switch by the dash or on the wiper motor itself. If you are getting 12 volts then you have a bad washer pump.

Short in fuse 1990 Dodge Caravan?

Fuses DO NOT "Get Shorts" INSIDE them!

The purpose of fuses is to protect the wiring and components in the circuits in which they are installed.

Fuses DO NOT "get shorts;" only the circuits which the fuses protect get "shorts."

The following answer is one which I have used [via cut and paste] many times for lots of similar questions regarding fuses that blow. It applies in almost all cases of blowing fuses. Read it over and over, understand it, and for sure, heed it.

Fuses That "Blow" Repeatedly

Without being able to "hands on" troubleshoot the circuit served by the repeatedly blowing fuse, none of us can identify the specific defect which is causing your problem.

Therefore, the following generic answer can be applied to any electrical circuit, whether in a vehicle, or in a building, or whether alternating current [AC] or direct current [DC].

Fuses [and Circuit Breakers] are safety devices designed and installed in electrical circuits TO PROTECT the conductors [wires] and other components from short circuit conditions and/or overload conditions which cause an extremely large flow of electrical current [measured in Amperes], which causes overheating of the conductors that results in damage to the insulation and the conductors.

And in a worst case scenario, the probability of a FIRE which could destroy the vehicle, house, or other structure in which the circuit is located.

When a fuse or Circuit Breaker [and replacement fuses, or "tripping" Circuit Breakers] "blow," especially if it happens repeatedly, is an indication of an UNSAFE CONDITION in that circuit, usually a short.

The fuse or circuit breaker is doing what it was designed, intended, and installed to do, protect the conductors and components of the circuit which it serves.

The proper "fix" is for a qualified technician, who knows what he or she is doing, to troubleshoot the involved circuit, find and identify the defect, and make proper repair [s], BEFORE replacing the fuse again [with the properly sized fuse or before resetting a circuit breaker].

Some ignorant people will suggest installing a larger fuse or breaker to solve the problem, BUT that will only increase the hazard, not correct it.

Do not follow "bad" advice by installing a larger fuse in a misguided attempt to correct the problem. To install an over-sized fuse would almost guarantee damage to the wiring and an electrical system fire

Your 98 Toyota Camry hit speed bumps when going over them even at a very slow pace?

If you mean the car is bottoming out (car frame contacting the speed bump) the you need to replace the front or rear suspension. Either the struts are worn out, springs maybe broken or weak. Another thing I've run into is the weight the car is carrying. I had a guy who we replaced the suspension in his 78 2dr Honda civic and he still complained of it bottoming out as he exited his underground parking. Nothing was found to be wrong with the suspension but upon questioning the man I found out it only happened when his son was in the front seat and his wife & motherinlaw were in the back. Problem was, both ladies were larger plus size (no offence intended folks) and the car could not carry the weight all in the back seat. Most shops will give it a quick check for a nominal/free charge but you need to start with the height the vehicle is at and a bounce test. Push on the front or rear corner by corner and see how mushy it is.
