How do you remove the fan shroud on a dodge durango?

My vehicle is a 1999 Dodge Durango, I cannot speak for cetain on other models. To remove the fan shroud, you have to remove the fan and clutch at the same time. To get the fan off can be a pain. Disconnect your negative battery cable first. Look downward behind the fan and you'll see a large nut (about 1 7/16") attaching the fan clutch to the water pump pulley. You have to turn this bolt counter clockwise while keeping the water pump pulley from turning. There are 3 possible ways to do this.

1) Press down hard on the serpentine belt and hope it keeps the pulley from rotating with the nut.

2) Take of the serpentine belt and use a strap wrench to hold the pulley.

3) Make your own tool taking advantage of the holes drilled in the water pump pulley to hold it in place.

Once that nut is broken loose, DON'T REMOVE it yet. There are four bolts to remove on the fan shroud. Two on the top and two underneath. Take all four out, pop the shroud out from the radiator, and move it over the fan. Now take the fan clutch nut the rest of the way off and lift out the fan, clutch, and shroud together.

<< I had no luck with these options. I was able to get the fan clutch off using a 6" C-clamp on the water pump pulley and a 10" pipe wrench with the help of a cheater bar (metal pipe) for leverage on the pipe wrench. Crank the C-Clamp on as tight as possible on the water pump pulley but out of the way of the nut so you can lock the pipe wrench onto the nut. Use the pipe wrench and cheater bar to loosen the large fan nut. The pully (and C-clamp) will rotate initially until the C-clamp jams up against the engine block.

Do you need to wire the dimmer illumination wire if your new radio dont have it?

No. There is no illumination, speed or retained accesory power in the factory radio. It is accomplished with car's CANbus communication. To hookup illumination wire on 2006 VW Jetta, tap into white/black wire at the light switch. It dims your lights on your radio. You can also set up different color for day and night.

How do you restore memory after a diagnostic code 12 in a dodge Dakota 1992?

Where is the blower motor fuse on a 2004 dodge Dakota?

There should be a small pop out panel covering the fuse box on the left side of the dash between the door and the dash (only accessible with the door open). The appropriate fuse should be marked on either the cover or on the fuse box itself.

Why would a car sometimes die when making a right turn?

These are all wrong, its the fuel pickup in the fuel tank that is on the left side of the tank. The tube runs dry. Fill your tank all the way and you can take sharp right turns all day and it will not stall out. Thanks

It Sounds like it has a corrupted moral sensor on the right side.

Now that I have been informed that this is a real question, I'll give my opinion: The "SEVERE DUTY" Crown Vics such as yours came with 2 different 4.6 motors. So this may not matter in your case. However, the original motor mounts were subject to heat damage from extended idling. There are revised motor mounts with heat shield to prevent this from happening. Should yours have been weakened, and the engine shifts too far when making a right turn only, it may be extending a harness too far, or stressing out a connection that will make a positive contact once the centrifical force of the turn is relieved, it could stall the motor. Therefore, check your motor mounts and jack up the right side of the motor around the mount area, but not directly on it. With the motor running while your doing this you can observe any abnormal movement. If this is the problem I would repolace all motor mounts as other weaken when one goes bad. I do sincerly apologize for offending you, but the thought of a former patrol car killing, did kind of remind me of "Christine."

Try replacing your IAC motor (AKA: idle air control valve). This worked on my car, and the part usually runs from $20-$80. Usually simple to install, just plug it in!

We were having the same problem with our 1983 Nissan (or more correctly Datsun in those days). The culprit turned out to be a loose connection at the positive battery terminal (not the terminal itself, but the multi-spade connector that's piggy-backed to it). It would slide off under the centrifugal force caused in the turn and diconnect power to either the fuel pump or the ingnition. Since the starter and switch are powererd by the main battery cable, the engine would still turn over and you'd still get dash lights, but the car wouldn't restart. I cleaned the contacts in the connector, added a few wire-ties to keep it secure and we were back in business.

Hope that helps.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS?

The fuel filter for your car is located under the hood on left hand side close to the fire wall...Almost directly under the Master Cylinder..

NOT TRUE. I'm taking mine off right now it's on the right hand side under the hood by the firewall just under the brake fluid tank.

First is right; the retard writing the second must not realize that left and right on a car are as the driver sees them from the driver's seat, not the mechanic's view from standing outside the car.

Ummm... are we talking about the FUEL filter, or the OIL filter?????

The fuel filter on 2000 elantra is under rear seat, under carpeting. There is a door there to remove to get to fuel filter and fuel pump. Careful! must relieve fuel pressure or fuel will shoot out. Disconnect battery, open gas cap, more. Do not fool with unless you know what you are doing.

Ummm. The original is correct. I just changed mine on my 2000 Hyundai GLS. The fuel pump is in the gas tank under the panel under the rear seat. It's possible that there is a secondary filter of some sort that should be replaced with the pump. The fuel filter is on the left side under the hood, under and behind the master cylinder.

Where is the horn relay located on a 2000 Chevy Express van?

They hid it. Facing the vehicle it is located below and to the right of the master cylinder above the computer almost inside if the left fender. Should say Delco Fuse Center on it.

There trucks are notorious for steering column wiring problems. The issue is that the horn and air bag share the same wire passage. Got to be very careful.

Approximately how much does it cost to put a car window back on track in a 1994 Mitsubishi Galant?

I'm assuming you mean the window is off it's guide rail. And that these are power windows. Unfortunately, that item is sold from Mitsubishi w/ the motor as a one piece package ONLY. (I know, how stupid is that) and also that's on a 2000 Galant. Once the window is off the guide rail, most of the time it's not a simple matter of just getting back on the guide. The guide rail is made of plastic! And over time will deteriorate. So whole thing along w/ a new motor has to be installed. If you know a mechanic, you can save some $$$$. I got mine installed for only $75, (but that's because I knew this guy really well) Under regular conditions I believe Mitz. wants about $150.00 for the part (being a '94 maybe less) and Mitz said it would run another $150 to install. So check around.

How do you remove a radiator from a 1996 Dodge Dakota?

Answer to puling radiatorIt is all pretty easy.....1. Remove the 4 bolts from the shroud and push it back towards the engine.2. remove the 4 bolts holding the shroud.3. remove the black guard below the radiator so you can access every thing from below.4. revove the hoses and lower tranny line....(You can leave the top line connected).5. the upper line is the trick...You have to go to autozone and buy what they call a "quick connect tool" to take the tranny line apart....from under the truck, there are tab looking things on one end of the line.....you open the tool and place around metal tubing, put the tool iside the quickconnect and tap until you are able to pull the hose apart..6. carefully pull radiator out paying particular attention to the tranny cooler mounted on front of the radiator...

Hope this helps

Where is Fuel sending module located on 1997 blazer?

Hard to tell the real question your are asking. The fuel quantity gauge sender is combined with the fuel pump, which is inside the gas tank. Tank must be removed, unless you have a pickup truck, in which case it may be easier to remive the bed.

What kind of engine is in a 2001 Dodge Dakota SLT?

A Dodge Dakota SLT has a 4.7L V8 flex-fuel engine and has 210 HP stock but some classes of the Dakota have a 3.6L or 3.7L V6 engine. The SLT has a 4.7L V8.

The 4.7L in a 2001 Dakota is not flex fuel. The V6 option would be the 3.9L
