Why does the Dodge Durango rust so much on the backdoor?

The fact that Dodge sealed the lower drain holes with a sealing tape and a tendency for water to leak in around the door handle causes heavy rusting. If not too late you can remove the seal tape around the bottom of the door to allow any water to drain out. Spraying the inside of the door once a month will go a long way to preventing rust out.

How do you know if you need a new clutch if the gears change all right and the clutch doesnt slip but you have loss of speed when you change into third gear or go uphill?

If the revs decrease as the speed decreases (in 3rd & uphill) then its not slipping, you don't need a new clutch, but if you are in any gear and the revs are increasing while the speed is decreasing, then the clutch is slipping.

Your 2001 durango turn signal and radio work intermittently until car warms up Could there be a short in a wiring harness Is the Turn signal switch connected somehow to the radio?

The answer that I have gotten is that there is a problem with the connection in your steering wheel that connects all of the switches on your steering wheel to the rest of the car. I forget what it is called, but everything on your steering wheel runs through this connection. Since your radio has switches for volume, stations, inputs, etc. on your steering wheel and of course your turn signals are there as well, all of that could be related to that one connection going bad. The most useless fix that I have heard for this is to bang on your steering column and that could shake it into order... but of course what you should do is have that connection replaced. $$$ Good luck. It's called a clockspring on cars with airbags.

What tools are needed to change breaks on 2002 Saturn vue?

need to know if its a rotor in which case you need some sockets and a tool to turn the caliper just for rear disk brakes. and if you have drums you will need a basic brake tool set it cheaper to get everything and you can use it for almost all brakes that have drum. it will have a the spring tool and what looks like a screwdriver with a socket on the end for getting the hold down spring. and two spoons which are flat bars that turn the adjuster from behind the drum. you will need to replace the wheel cylinder if you see anything leaking inside the drum. since this will keep leaking and screws the brake shoes. clean the parts with brake cleaner and another suggestion. when taking the parts off keep the parts in order on the floor so you can remember what goes where and only take one side off at a time so you can look at the other side to help putting it back togeher. i case you forgot something or need help. i do this and i have doing repairs for years i saves time and you don't mix up the parts since some parts need to go on the same side they come off.

Is the engine in a dodge charger reliable?

Well, I have had mine for about 2 years, put 30K miles on it and have never had any problems with the engine. And of the forums that I am on, I have never heard of anyone having issues with the new HEMIs that weren't caused by their own stupidity.

Can you disarm the anti theft system on a 2006 dodge durango?

Yes, you can disarm, but the Ignition, keysense, and Sentry key (key cylinder must see code from key meaning a bypass mod will be needed) needs to be powered up at the same time to disarm without unlock. I would just never buy Crysler Vehicles as they have very poor electrical systems.

2000 impala when turn signals quit working you can turn on hazard flashers then the turn signals start working they work fine some times?

The module is failing. The turn signals and emergency flashers are both controlled electronically. The module is behind the emergency flasher switch and requires partial disassemble of the dash to access it There are several screws: 2 on the ends under the fuse covers 2 on the panel under the steering wheel and 2 by the odometer Take your ignition key off the ring, put it in the ignition and position to run so that you can put the column shift into 1 (full down) and put the steering wheel to full down in order to get the clearance to get the pannel off. Gently pull the face off the dash. Don't break off the clips. A replacement is about $40 from the dealer. GO to the junk yard and if your lucky u might find 1 for 10 bucks.. this is a commen problem with impalas i bet i looked throught 15 cars b4 i found one with a switch in it. why buy a new switch that will go bad when u can get a used one that might do the same
