You first need to remove the turn signal assembly. Do this by removing the torx screw that is in the corner of the groove between the headlight and turn signals. You will also need to unfasten the rubber weather stripping mounted on button-hole style knobs, two on the headlight and two on the signal assembly. Slide the signal unit forward and off to the side. Beware that there are other larger size torx screws that may you see in the vicinity, these are for adjusting the aim of the headlight, so you'll probably want to leave those alone.

With the turn signals removed, you should be able to see the headlight housing bolts. There are 3 bolts; 2 underneath the headlight housing and one on the side of the housing towards the center of the vehicle. Remove these bolts and you can pull out the housing. The housing will still be connected to the vehicle in the outter upper corner with a plastic ball joint type connecteror, just keep pulling or gently pry it off and it should dislodge. Disconnect the wire harness from the rear of the bulb and headlight assembly. Now you can easily unscrew the bulb retaining ring and replace the bulb.

Be sure to use caution when handling the halogen bulb, use a clean rag or paper towel to avoid touching the bulb surface with your hands. Any oil, even body oil from your finger, will heat up and boil on the bulb when it's on and cause the bulb to burn out prematurely. If you get oil on it, clean with rubbing alcohol.

Estimate time for repair: Approx. 15-20 min per bulb.

Suport engine with a jack under oil pan..remove top right motor mount..remove two bolts that hold POWER STEERING PUMP to the engine bracket..remove bolt that holds BELT TENSIONER to engine bracket..3 or 4 more bolts that hold ENGINE BRACKET to ENGINE..remove ENGINE BRACKET from ENGINE..remove TIMING COVERS..Loosen TIMING BELT TENSIONER...Release SPRING...(Water pump is driven by the timing belt) Remove Timing belt..Remove Water Pump...replace...RE-TIME!..Put back together..be sure to RE-TIME, if you want the car to run again, anyway.. Not an easy job..I hate working on this car.

You don't. Your engine computer does this job according to it's programming. If you really wish to alter the timing, you will have to purchase and install an appropriate aftermarket 'power chip'. Usually they are not cheap.

Got a '98 Durango and the mechanic said it kicked out a error code of 63. It's related to the ABS system, but I'm still looking as to exactly what.

Pin 1 is upper left. Pin 16 is lower right. They are numbered in order. OBD-II is a government standard, all the connectors are the same, regardless of make/model. OBD-II is not used by shorting pins together and watching the 'check engine' light flash, you have to use an OBD-II reader, available at your local auto parts store. Remove fan shroud, radiator, fan clutch and fan blades. Then the water pump bolts will be accessible. You can avoid removing the plate that goes across to the P.S. pump, but you do have to remove the bracket bolted to the top of the engine block that supports the belt tensioner. Be sure to use a reverse rotation (serpentine belt) or a standard rotation (v-belt) water pump depending on your vehicle.

IT could have an exaust leak somewhere or if it has an electric cooling fan the fan could be bad, short in it wiring or blown fuse Is your aquastat working? Is the radiator clogged up with sediment? If it has overheated before, is the head warped? Your question is a lot of questions. Take the radiator cap off with the radiator full and gun the engine while it's still cool. If the water runs over when you gun it, the head, or the headgasket, is history, Or the block or head may be cracked. Take it to your mechanic for a free evaluation and an estimate. You may be better off getting another car and trading that one in, and let the dealer deal with it. They can afford it.

If it is a manual trasmsiion, then yes. If it is an automatic transmission, then the answer is positively NO! Towing with the rear wheels down will damage the transmission. Remove the drive shaft.

There were two engines available in a 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car. A 400 cubic inch V8 with a 2 bbl carburetor and single exhaust that pumped out a very pathetic 165 horsepower. This was the ONLY engine you could get in a car sold in CA or in higher altitudes. The other engine available was the 460 cubic inch V8 4 bbl carburetor and dual exhaust that developed a bit more than 200 horsepower. 1978 was the last year the 460 was available...The fifth digit of the VIN will tell which engine the car was equipped with originally. An 'S' in the fifth place denotes the 400 was factory installed and an 'A' in the fifth place indicates the 460 was factory installed. These two engines were also available in the 78 Town Coupe' and Mark V with the same characters in their VIN's.
