Dodge Intrepid

There are four proportioning valves. They are located by all four tires within the brake line. It is a small cylinder shaped valve about two inches long.

Just work your fingers in around the plastic frame of the dome light and pull down. It takes a little effort but the entire unit will drop down. You will then see the housing for the bulb. Snap that out and remove and replace with a new bulb. Line up the unit and push it all back in place.

does it stall/ have lack of power. has it ever overheated? cylinter walls may be warped.

Dodge does not use inertia/reset switches.

My guess would be that motor is locked.

The 1999 Dodge Intrepid did not come with a horn as part of the standard package. Instead, under your hood should be a housing for a small dwarf from Boston. Upon pressing the horn button located on your steering wheel, he should pop out and begin to curse and make obscene gestures. If this does not occur, it may be because he is underfed... try sliding some sausages or something into the coolant opening.

3.3L - driven by serpentine belt.

The turn signal/hazzard flasher is a small unit ( little black box, 5 prongs ) Located between the fuse box and brake peddle on a braket under the drivers side air conditioning duct. At some point and time in 1995 dodge swiched over in the middle of production so some 95 intrepid and 96 and 97 should all be the same. The repacment flasher is Tridon Stant EP27. I had a lot of trouble finding it myself when I first bough my 1995 used None of the turn singles worked and we had to get a flasher which we finely found from PEP BOY's for $12.99 Tridon Stant part # EP27. Dodge wanted $31.70 for the same Chrysler flasher part # 47600060.

Does it do this all the time? Just to narrow down the problem, you can disconnect the cruise control servo and see if things get better. The servo is usually located by the brake master cylinder, and is vacuum operated. Disconnecting it won't hurt the car at all.

no. the heat and pressure will blow it off. you will need to get the petcock repaired or plugged, probably pretty cheap repair at a rad shop.

Replace the water outlet, they fail all the time.

The Intrepid only uses distributorless engines. There is no distributor to have a cap.

There are videos on Utube. If not for your exact vehicle, they base aspects are still the same. You should be able to get about 90% of the info you need even if it isn't the same exact vehicle. I used it and successfully changed mine in my driveway and didn't have to pay a garage to do it.

Open the trunk - unscrew the 3 black plastic retainers on either lens assembly (behind, inside the trunk). Turn on lights briefly to be sure which exact bulb is not lighting. turn the bulb assembly/socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise to loosen and disengage. the bulb will be in the socket assembly. Swap it, test lights.... replace lens. Hint: Turn signal will flashh double speed as a warning that 1 or more t/s bilbs is not working. willreturn to noemal speed when corrected.... DB
