a leaky injector or a cylinder that is not firing dose your fuel pressure bleed off when the jeep is sitting if so check your fuel pressure after the jeep is shut off if it falls off then find the rubber fuel line to the fuel rail and get the jeep running to aquire fuel pressure and turn the jeep off and quickly clamp the rubber fuel line off if the fuel pressure still falls off it is an injector bleeding pressure

was told there's a rev counter "unit" somewhere, Haine's manual has nothing, let us know if you sorted it? == Believe rev counter engine speed pickup is from the alternator. Had Rover 218TD with same engine, alternator went and rev counter stopped working. There were 3 wires to alternator, big thick red one, alternator light one and the rev counter feed. It is possibly the injection pump. Happened to me. Contaminated fuel can cause it. The pump was replaced along with lift pump. Runs great now--Dodge has the best diesel engine. First, check the fuel pump relay--that happened to me, too. Under the hood, driver's side, plastic snap-off cover.

Funny man that guy. Have you checked your fluid level? Also checked to see if your trans oil looks or smells like it has been burnt. Hopefully your only low on trans fluid, otherwise you will need to take it in for repairs.

im pretty sure ther is no suvh thing from dodge/cummins theyve always been 12 or 24 valves a 1 valve just cant happen in a stright 6 you need a even number of valves per cylinder ex. the 12 valve cummins is a stright 6 and it has 2 valves per cylinder whic is the min. and the 24 valve has 4 valves per cylinder and is also a stright 6, the 12 valve came out in the early to mid 80s and the 24 idk
