Do polecat ferrets smell?

Some ferret lovers will tell you that ferrets and polecats do not smell - but the simple fact of the matter is they certainly do have a distinct ferrety odour that some people find unpleasant (I rather like it, personally) - their Latin name, Mustela putorius furo (or for the wild polecat, M. putorius), actually translates as weasel-like stinky thief.

This is especially true of males, which can produce a definite musky pong. However, following neutering, the smell is reduced by around 80% and is less noticeable than the smell of most dogs. Females are far less smelly, but both sexes possess glands near the anus which can release a stench comparable to that of a skunk if the ferret feels threatened - pet ferrets, which become accustomed to humans, rarely emit this smell and even if they do the stink soon fades. These glands are commonly removed in ferrets sold as pets in the USA but in Britain and other nations the procedure is seen as unnecessary mutilation.

Ferrets are well-known for doing the absolute opposite of what you want them do, and this is very true when it comes to washing - most ferrets enjoy a swim in the bath, but washing actually makes them stinkier. This is because it stimulates the production of oil glands in the skin. The oil is essential for keeping the ferret's fur in good condition, but is also what makes them smell. To reduce it, instead of washing simply change the ferret's bedding daily - the love to curl up under old towels, old wooly jumpers etc., so it's easy to collect enough bedding to change it daily while only needing to wash it once a week.

What type of fluid goes into a 4 speed manual transmission on a 1991 Ford F 150 night with a 5.0 V8?

It is not the same as the 90w used in the rear axle.

Some say that the Ford reccommended transmission oil for a '91 4-speed is an 80w gear lube.

Amsoil reccomends their XL 10-40w synthetic.

I recall 50w being specified for my old '67.

Red Line offers specifically formulated manual transmission gear lubes.

The Red Line MTL 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil (SAE 5W30/10W30 engine oil viscosity) is designed for use in manual transmissions. ("its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting")

Red Line also offers MT-90, this is a 75W90 GL-4 Gear Oil that's slightly heavier than MTL.

The Ford 5-speeds call for ATF.

Interesting to say the least...

What does wind smell like?

Wind itself doesn't have a distinct smell, but it can carry various scents from its surroundings. It may bring the fresh, crisp aroma of rain, the earthy smell of soil, or the salty scent of the ocean. The specific odors depend on the environment and what the wind picks up as it moves. Overall, wind acts as a vehicle for the diverse smells of nature.

How can you tell what the oil capacity for a 1996 ford 351 engine is?

The engine oil capacity for a 1996 Ford Bronco 351 engine is ( 6 quarts with filter change )

What would cause the engine on a 1996 Saturn SC2 to be covered in oil?

engine covered with oil, stuck PVC valve or equivalent, build up of crankcase pressure blows out top oil under gaskets over engine. However white smoke indicates your 'burnin g' water, coolant, this sounds more like a cracked cylinder head, block, or blown gasket that is allowing oil to escape to the surface, but water to enter a cylinder and vaporise and escape with the exhause gas's, the catalytic converter is trying to burn the residue of the antifreeze and produces the smell. Your fortunate its not in the oil, as antifreeze gets sticky and will stick the rings or a piston. Sounds like a time to spend some money before it gets worse or bail out and replace the engine or car.

How do you replace a heater core in a 1996 Dodge Intrepid 3.5?

It's in the centre of the dashboard, right below the windshield. The bottom of the dash, sides and top of the dash have to come off. Drop the steering column onto the drivers seat, unplug all the wiring harnesses to the brake switch, 60 way connector, fuse panel, and all other connectors for airbags, turn signals etc etc.... take out the radio and heater control and console (if equipped). Remove the heater and AC lines in the engine compartment. Undo the 3 bolts in the engine compartment connecting the module to the firewall and the three bolts inside the car holding the module to the firewall. Pull the module out and the core is on the left side top. It's about a 15 hr job for a first timer.

What is another term for smell?

What is a wheel farthingale?

A wheel farthingale is a piece of Elizabethan underpinnings worn in the late 1500's. It's a wheel shape, worn low in the front, high in the back, worn over a bumroll and under a pair of bodies (a corset).

The wheel farthingale came from France, but didn't achieve popularity until Queen Elizabeth took it up. It makes the waist look very small, and the torso long (and the legs short...), and is the look favored in many of Queen Elizabeth's portraits.

Your son just bought a 1998 Jetta but lost the main key He has the key that will start the car but it does not allow you to open the trunk a valet key What is the best way to replace the missing ignit?

I had a 1998 Jetta, but I don't remember if they had remote entry. If it does, buy a remote entry blank off of ebay. Then, go to the dealer with the VIN and proof of ownership and have them cut and program the key. If it doesn't have remote entry, just talk to a dealer. Like you said, your son has the "Valet" or "Sub Master" key. Take it to a Locksmith and he/she can cut your son a new master. Ilco blank# X203
