Ford Escape XLS

Just rebuilt tranny on 1997 Town & country. Rebuild was $1,500.00. My buddy has a shop and he and I changed it, so not sure about install price. Bill

I would check the blinker bulbs on the side that doesn't blink (front & back). If neither side is working,there is a round chrome blinker fuse,located under the dash board close to the fuse box,it's width is about the size of a half dollar. If that doesn't solve your problem,then it most likely will be either in the wiring or the switch. If it is in wiring or switch,I advise you to take it to a mechanic,you do not want to mess with the wiring or switch,you could cause yourself a big headache and pay A LOT more...

Because it never fixed it to begin with. Just because the light stayed out for a couple of days does not mean that it ever fixed. The computer has to see the problem occur through several drive cycles consequtively before it sets a code and turns on the light. This can take several days. My guess is that you have something else wrong with the EGR system that is causing the computer to see little or no activity at the DPFE sensor whenever it commands the EGR on. And it is probably NOT the EGR valve. Ford EGR valves seldom fail. There is one other possibility that you installed the DPFE backward. I would pull it off, and make sure the small diameter neck on the sensor is one the small diamter hose and the big diameter neck is on the big diameter hose. Otherwise, you probably have something causing little or no flow in the EGR system such as an EGR control malfunction, or a stopped up EGR passage in the intake manifold area.

There are either one or two screws holding it in place. I can't remember now if you need to open the hatch or not.(It's been a yr since I took the taillight lens off) But,after you remove the screw(s) you just pull it straight off. You WILL feel resistance.

First check your fuse box, then check to see if spring is bad inside the turn signal. Replace if necessary otherwise they stick after awhile just work it slowly up and down. Your turn signal should work.

Using a higher octane than the engine was designed to burn is a total waste of money. It will provide no benefit whatsoever. No better mileage and no more power. It is a myth that is does. In fact on modern cars it may make it harder to start. Use what is recommended by the manufacture.

To reset the oil change required warning 2012 ford escape 3.0 liter go to the factory settings manual and look to see what button needs to be used to switch it off.

The torque for the 1997-2000 Ford Expedition ; Oil pan drain plug is; 16-22 ft.lbs. [22-30 Nm] So it may be the same for the 2001. When, I replace my oil pan drain plug on my 1998 Ford Expedition XLT. I snug it tight and then turn around 1/4 to 1/2 turn. No more no less. Don't want to strip it.

I would say that if water had never backed up in your floor drain, then backed up even after you had the drain line snaked, Roto-Rooter didn't do their job. Once a drain line is cleaned, it should drain like it did before the stoppage. As for plugging the floor drain, it is there for a reason, I would not plug it. There are several items manufactured that will allow a floor drain to drain but if the line starts stopping up they will seal the drain off to prevent water from coming out of the drain.

like all vehicles, it should be changed every 3000 miles. a lot of warrenties will void and not cover the work done unless you can show them proof that you have kept up on preventitive maintinance such as changing the oil.

After a year of the mysterious beeping in my Ford Escape (5 beep pattern), I have found out the problem. It's the bulb for the airbag on the dash. Not the airbag system itself...just the bulb.

Windshield Wiper Motor Removal & Installation Front 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Turn the ignition switch ON until the wiper blades are straight up, then turn the ignition switch OFF. 2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 3. Remove the right-hand and left-hand windshield wiper arm and blade assemblies. 4. Remove the cowl top vent panels. 5. Detach the electrical hardness connector at the windshield wiper motor assembly. 6. Remove 3 wiper motor (module assembly) retaining bolts and remove the module assembly from the vehicle. 7. Remove the wiper linkage retaining bolt and remove the linkage from the wiper motor. 8. Remove 3 retaining nuts and remove the windshield wiper motor. To install; 9. Place the windshield wiper motor in position and install 3 retaining nuts. Tighten to 10-12 ft. lbs. (12-17 Nm). 10. Connect the wiper linkage to the windshield wiper motor and install the retaining bolt. Tighten the bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm). 11. Place the wiper motor (module assembly) in position and install 3 retaining bolts. Tighten the bolts to 6 ft. lbs. (9Nm). 12. Install the electrical hardness connector to the windshield wiper motor. 13. Connect the negative battery cable. 14. Allow the windshield wiper motor to cycle several times while checking for proper wiper motor operation. 15. Turn the windshield wiper motor to the OFFposition to park the wiper motor in the park position. 16. Install the cowl top vent panels. 17. Install the wiper arm and blade assemblies. Install the retaining nuts and tighten to 22-29 ft. lbs. (30-40 Nm). 18. Connect the negative battery cable. Check the windshield wiper motor for proper operation and the wiper arms fo

Yes. Remove it, shake it. It should make a rattling noise. It could be plugged up. Just install a new one. They only cost about 10 dollars.
