Whats the torque spec for the oil drain plug on a 2001 ford expedition 4.6L?

The torque for the 1997-2000 Ford Expedition ; Oil pan drain plug is; 16-22 ft.lbs. [22-30 Nm] So it may be the same for the 2001. When, I replace my oil pan drain plug on my 1998 Ford Expedition XLT. I snug it tight and then turn around 1/4 to 1/2 turn. No more no less. Don't want to strip it.

When you do laundry water comes out of your floor drain all over your floor you had Roto-Rooter snake the pipe but the water still comes up Would it be all right if you tightly plugged the drain hole?

I would say that if water had never backed up in your floor drain, then backed up even after you had the drain line snaked, Roto-Rooter didn't do their job. Once a drain line is cleaned, it should drain like it did before the stoppage. As for plugging the floor drain, it is there for a reason, I would not plug it. There are several items manufactured that will allow a floor drain to drain but if the line starts stopping up they will seal the drain off to prevent water from coming out of the drain.

Rough idle on a Ford Escape 3.0 V6?

Check for vacuum leak. Also if it has over 80,000 miles on the odometer replace the spark plugs and plug wires.

I just had my 04 Escape checked out at a mechanic and the computer said it was the egr valve. This started happening after I ran out of gas. The mechanic thinks that may have been part of the problem cause some junk may have made it past the fuel filter and gunked up the egr valve.

- I would first check for vacuum leaks, then I would test or replace the IAC (idle air control), then if all checks out, do a compression test. All cylinders will have to be within 10 per cent of each other to have a steady idle. Note that the upper plastic intake will have to be removed to test the back bank.

This guy is RIGHT it is a VACCUME LEAK! CHECK this out!

Im not a mechanic but I have had the same problems with my 2001 Ford Escape. I changed the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF sensor), Idle Air Control valve (IAC Valve), Positive Crankcase Ventalation Tube (PCV Tube) and nothing worked. You do need to check your PCV tube to see if it has collapsed if so change it $26 at Ford house. What finally fixed my car was when I changed out the upper and lower intake gaskets $9 at Auto Zone. 4 of my upper gaskets and 2 of my lower gaskets were leaking. If you do decide to change the gaskets out, replace your PCV valve $6 easy to get to once you remove the intake to get to the lower gaskets. Change your spark plugs out with factory Motorcraft plugs $4 a piece. I did all this and my Ford Escape runs like a charm. Hope this helps you out. If you do this yourself make sure ALL VACCUME HOSES are put back on.

Vacuum leaks can be hard to find, I use WD40 instead of a smoker, whenever idle changes when spraying around hoses/motor, I have found my leak. Works everytime!

Hey, before you tear everything apart, if you don't have any warning lights on, disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for about 5 minutes. Then reconnect it. This resets the computer. Mine ran smooth as silk after that. (2001 V6 Escape).

Where is the fuse box for the Ford Escape?

There is a distribution box under the hood on the right side, that has some fuses, the other is under the dashboard on the left side directly under the steering wheel. In the 2008 model, the fuse box is in the center console on the passenger side. There is a panel that removes without tools and provides access to a black box. The black box cover has clips top and bottom that must be squeezed to remove the cover. Under the cover are the fuses.... unfortunately Ford chose to go with non-standard fuses.... so you need to use special fuses as replacements.

For the 2002 Ford Escape, the interior fuse box is on the left panel of the driver's foot well. It is covered by a snap off panel that also has the fuse removal tool in the bottom. On the back of the cover is a diagram (hard to see, but there) of the fuse locations by type (audio, radio, etc). Note that removing the audio and radio fuses still does not disable the CD player.

How do you replace the high beam bulb on a 1999 Mercedes slk?

Hi, Take off the plastic cover to the back of the light and its the top bulb in the light unit, take off the the leads to the bulb, unclip the metal holder and take the bulb out. replace bulb with new one. I have just changed mine to Ice Blue bulbs. Is looks great and so much brighter than the other ones that where in the car.

Some details to help the above answer:

The low beam and the high beam have the same mechanism. When you remove the plastic cover (the tab is on the top press down and swing out), the low beam bulb is the one on the top and the high beam the one below it.

The clip has a U shape tab at one end and two legs at the other end. The center of the clip presses against the bulb and holds it. You need to push the U shape tab to the left (facing the car) to unhook it from the bracket.

It becomes much easier if

1. You use a flashlight or portable light to illuminate the back of the fitting while carrying out the procedure so that the clip is clearly visible.

2. Use (needle-nose) pliers to move the wire clip left (when facing the car) than your fingers.

3. Do not unclip the bottom portion of the clip. Just release the top as in the answer above and gently let it swing out and down while still attached at the bottom. The bulb can be removed this way. After you place the new bulb, you can just swing back the clip and hook it back to the top bracket.
