The best solution is to purchase and install a clamp on block heater which is available through a Suzuki dealer. To my knowledge, you can't install a normal type of block heater (installs in frost plug).

Roll down a window. Lock the car with the remote. Open the door from the inside without using the remote. If your alarm works it should go off.

A bad PCV valve can cause the engine to smoke. The valve is easy to change in most engines to correct the problem.

For the oil pan bolts on a 2001 Ford Escape, the torque should be 18 ft lbs. This is equal to 24.4 N.m.

possibly the coil, it is the most common problem. what I do is remove the coil clean the spark plug and remove the coil and spark plug from the cylinder next to it and swap it clear the code and drive it if the same cylinder triggers light you the problem is not ignition , on the other hand, if the swapped cylinder triggers light you now know that you need coil and plugs.

Hi all.. have just had the same dramas.. the egine number ,if there is one ,as some American cars don't have them.. will be on the front of the motor ( front as in the front of the car) above the oil filter on the side of the block.. u have to look from underneath to see it.. its in small print.. my cars wasnt stamped so i was given a new number and had it put on the under side of the block( small lip where it joins the sump) quite easy to do actually.. just need the new number and some punches...Good luck, Craig sa.

All Audi's have an Aliminum pan and a steel plug bolt, so you must be VERY careful not to strip it out. My A4 uses a 19MM socket, and the wrench is set to 22ft/# of torque. (# provided by my Audi dealer). A local shop stripped it and lied, saying it was already like that. Be very care ful of mom and pop shops. Inform them that YOU change your oil, and know the torque is only 22#, so they can't try to pass the buck, saying "the last place must have overtightened it". Tell them it's 22# when you drop it off.

Just had my 2001 escape worked on this weekend b/c it misfired and would not accelerate. Here is the list firestone gave me that they worked on:

remove & replace sprk plug wire set

take off door panel by removing screws, push in on middle of holders ,lift panel off of door release clips on door lock and door handle rod remove handle.

If you have not had a balance and rotation on your tires within one year, this can cause shaking of your vehicle. Also, if you have a lift or heavy duty tires, your vehicle will be prone to shaking.

Look between the battery & headlight. The cap should be labeled.

These are common for oil pan gaskets, if the oil level is a quart low it most likely isn't high enough to leak out the gasket

Remove the engine lifting bracket (silver hook thing above the right hand side of the front valve cover). Climb under the car with a flashlight and you'll see the large bolt attaching the bracket to the bottom of the engine. Good luck getting to it... I was tempted to cut it off.
