How is the key-less entry reset?

Owner's manual

AnswerI don't have enough information about your car to tell you how to do it, but here's how they all work:

The key fob is a radio transmitter that sends an ID sequence (the serial number of the fob) out when you press the button. Any key fob that works for any car like yours has the potential to be used to unlock your car doors. The question you want answered is "how do I tell my car's computer to respond to the key fob I have?"

Generally the car stops listening to your key fobs if the power is cut to the battery. There's a sequence that you need to follow to tell the car's computer to go into learning mode. Once the computer is ready to learn, you'll need to press any button on each fob that you want your car to listen to. You'll need all of the fobs at once.

The dealer will be happy to do this for you for a fee. I've had pretty good luck searching Google groups for specific information about how to do this. I recommend that you search Google groups for the make, model, year and the keyword RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) or some variation of those.

Good luck!

Where is pcv located on 99 explorer 4.0 v6?

Near the firewall on passenger side...two rubber hoses come together to a tee fitting

the other end of the tee fitting goes down to the crankcase hose.

Tough to see it....it is sightly under the intake plenum...both hose that go to the tee fitting ..one goes to the right side of the intake plenum [under it] the other hose goes to the left side [under]. The original pcv is plastic....the new one is metal.

The tee DOES come off to go to the new valve but is hard to get apart..the warm

water trick will help to take apart without breaking it.

I have a 98 Ford Explorer 4wd The car runs fine going forward but when it is put into reverse the front passenger tire locks up and does not turn What could cause this to happen?

My best guess: and it's only a guess... is that your transfer case may be going out. I had to replace mine a few years back.

I don't know if you are having this happen, as I was, but you could hear a grinding kind of noise from the drivers side rear portion of the car when put in reverse.

Oh, and by the way, a USED transfer case ran me $900 for the part and installation.

How do you change dim headlights on a '93 Ford Explorer?

1. You may have a bad ground. 2. The battery may not be charging, due to a bad battery or alternator

The dim lights are probably caused by hazed, cloudy, or fogged out plastic lenses. I detail headlights at used car dealerships and I use a product called CrystaLenz. Their product works extremely well without removing the lens or using any special tools. You can get more info. at www.crystalenz.com

How to Turn off overspeed warning ford au?

I have the same problem...

I dont know what to try as there are no indications of an O/Speed control button.

Though the problem might have something to do with the steering wheel controller that was replaced to accommodate a new head unit.

What are the benefits of disc brakes?

The benefits of disc brakes over drum brakes are numerous:

1: More clamping power. The act of squeezing a disc by two opposing brake pads (as opposed to two shoes pushing outward on a drum) "grabs" harder for the same given contact area.

2: Easier to maintain ie there is minimal maintenance. there are no adjustments necessary. You use your brakes until they are worn and replace them. drum brakes (even the self-adjusting type) require adjustments. Mostly this involves moving in reverse with some speed and forcefully braking to reseat the shoes.

3: Safer: I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe drum brakes are offered with ABS. On top of this, even IF you were able to get ABS with drum brakes, if you were to drive to deep water, it's possible ot get water inside a drum brake and that brake then becomes useless for stopping. Disc brakes can be operated while wet because the act of braking squeegees the film of water off and lets them be useful in a hurry.

4: Performance: Race cars do NOT use drum brakes. There's a reason-see #1.
That depends on your bikes rotor design. If you have a large thick rotor disc-it can get hot and have a hard time shedding that heat leading to brake fade. Also if its a large heavy rotor it has a pronounced gyroscopic effect to your bikes handling-which isnt the best.

A wave rotor promotes better cooling and typically less unsprung mass plus many like its look.

less spinning weight on the wheels can make the bike more responsive and have less mass to slow down. ;-)
