Can you put a Duramax engine in your Geo Metro?
Interesting question, and I give you credit for your creativity, but no. Consider the overall sizes of the pickup's engine compartment vs. the geo's. A Cummins would be more likely as you'd be going inline-3 to inline-6 vs. I3 to V8, but you've still got the transaxle issue & inadequate space underhood. That & you'd probably destroy the the front drive axles with 600+ ft.lbs. of torque at your disposal. Plus neither the suspension nor chassis would be adequate to support the weight.
definitively a no no, the cam lobes on the shaft in the 3 cylander distributer will not match to open points for a 4 cylinder. you need a 4 cylinder distributor. 4 or 5 notches verses 3 notches visually different distributors with different part numbers.

How do you replace the weather stripping on a 92 Geo Metro convertible?
Unfortunately, the convertible top weatherseals for Metro convertible models were discontinued more than a decade ago, and are no longer in the parts system. Your best bet for finding a set will be eBay, a junkyard or any other second-hand source. A good set has been known to go for $50 to $100 on auction sites. The few remaining owners of these rare ragtops have generally come to the conclusion that replacement weatherstrips are mostly unobtainable, and have tried rigging up seals with parts from other convertible models. The Chrysler Sebring convertible has been reported to have seals that may work, but it has not been confirmed.
It is most likely a bad blower motor resistor. Replace the resistor. If the problem continues, it could be the switch.

It could be a faulty mass air flow sensor. Just lightly tap the intake pipe with it running and if it changes the idle up or down, that's most likely your culprit. Before you buy one, check all of your connections and make sure they're clean and tight. You may also have a vacuum leak on the intake somewhere.

How do you replace a 1998 Chevy Metro alternator belt?
On most cars, the upper alternator-mount usually has an elongated hole or slot with a bolt that goes thru it and the alternator-housing. To loosen/tighten the alternator-belt, just loosen this bolt a little and the top of the alternator can then be swiveled to alter tension on the belt ...when the belt is tight enough (you can only move it 1/4" when pushing at a point that's equal distance between 2 of the pulleys, hold it in that position and tighten the bolt. Sometimes if alternator is difficult to move, it can be pried (and held in position) with wood-handle of a hammer (or other non-metallic item) placed between alternator and the mount.
