I am not 100% sure about the 1996 but on the 1994 it is located in the fuel tank. You need to remove the back seats to expose the mounting bolts.

Not sure if you have to remove a horizontally positioned bolt hold it from coming out above. But, the way Geo Designed it is the most outragous set up, big cluster f**k. The fusible link has two deep prongs held by a horizontal bolt and each fusible link has two wires running up underneath the link and the bolt must losen to remove the link but all you can do to loosen the bolt is a open end wrench and it is between a 9mm and a 10mm wrench. Hoping a 5/16" works but running out of options. You think something like this would be simple.
Did they change the fuel filter and the air filter as well. Odds are they didn't replace the fuel filter as they're kind of a pain in the rear to get to.

How do you replace a leaking fuel tank on a 1994 GEO PRIZM LSI 1.8L?
You'll have to drain the tank first. This will make it easier to handle. Take off the gas cap first of all and disconnect your battery. Take the back seat cushion out and remove your fuel pump access cover. Disconnect the wire connectors to the pump then jack the car up and support it with jackstands. Next you remove the center exhaust pipe and heat insulator. Then you disconnect the parking brake cables and move them aside. Now you disconnect the fuel lines and the filler hose. Make sure you plug these hoses to prevent gas leaking out. Last thing is to remove the straps and gently lower the tank. You may want to have a floor jack with a board on it to support the tank. And it wouldn't hurt to have someone assist when you lower it and pull it out.

What you can do though, is mask off your own design on your tail lights with masking tape and paint it the same color as your car with plastic safe spraypaint... it looks awesome, for example, i did small circles across the light, or you can make 1 thin like in the moddle tht wld look pretty sick too...the design is up to you!! You can also just buy spray tint and tint them
