I had this problem over the weekend. If the starter does not engage, check the voltage across the lugs of the starter, then check the connection of the spade connectors under the lugs. I found one of the spades had broken and was not providing power to the solenoid.

Hi, I'm showing the coil mounted in a bracket on the firewall. As you look at the distributor, it is to the left of it mounted in a bracket. As to installing a tachometer, is there one in the instrument cluster? If there is then I'd look for a new cluster at a alvage yard or E-Bay, if not, that's beyond my scope of knowledge. no, it will not. A Samurai and a Tracker are different body styles. The Suzuki Sidekick is the same body style as the Geo Tracker and those hard tops are interchangeable.

Unless things are VERY strange, it should be the same essentially as was on Suzuki Samurais...yes, it has a belt that goes around the crankcase pulley (front of engine near the bottom), the fan (front of engine near the top), and the alternator. The alternator is set off to the passenger side of the engine bay, and the way the belt is tensioned is by loosening a bolt on the top bracket of the alternator and swinging the alternator toward the engine to loosen the belt and toward the battery & air cleaner to tighten it. Note you may have to also loosen the bolts on the bottom of the alternator so it will 'swing' back and forth. That's the way it was on Samurai's, and I know that Geo Tracker engines were a common swap into a samurai, so I'm pretty sure it would be the same. Hope that helps.

Locksmith reply: You can use the pliers to turn it back to the off position but the ignition will need to be replaced. It's pretty common on GM vehicles. Most the time it is just the lock itself that is causing the problem.

The throttle position sensor replacement is usually a simple task. Sometimes they will be held on with a torx socket, or covered in plastic protectant like mine was. (I had to use a dremel and cut the existing bolts off) But usually replacement is fairly quick and easy. Behind the right front tire you will see where your clutch cable attaches to your clutch arm, holding on to the cable with a pliers, take an 11mm socket and wrench and turn the nut on the backside clockwise until your clutch is where you want it. Now if you have tighned up the nut all the way and it's still loose you need to take out the clutch pedal and check to see if the threads at the end are twisted, if so replace immediately, I had 1 snap off on me.
