What would cause a 1995 GMC Jimmy to idle and run rough and the check engine light come on?

Mid 90's Jimmy's have issues with cracked blocks, at transmissions, the front differencial, as well as the oil: pan, filter, pump, and gasket. It is very possible that the block is cracked.

AnswerIt could also be carbon in the EGR valve... AnswerEarly 90's Jimmys has a multiport fuel injection system which used a fuel regulator and delivery system inside the intake maniford. The Central Port Injector(CPI or Spider) has had a tendency to leak from the regulator putting excess fuel into one side of the intake manifold. The single O2 sensor reading the combined exhaust trys to lean the mixture by shortening up the "on" time for all of the injectors which leans out the other bank of cylinders. In essence you have three cylinders running rich, three running lean. Not the best situation for a stable idle. The indication of this is that one side of the intake manifold will be relatively clean(usually a yellowish brown)from being cleaned by the gasolene, and the other side dirty from the blow-by products from the crankcase vent. Check out: http://www.asashop.org/autoinc/feb2000/techtotech.htmfor a expert diagnosis from an ASE Certified Tech with lots of pictures of what I was trying to explain. Look for "Jimmy CPI Unit" on EBay, they have some of the newer modified units for fairly cheap ($200), their not hard to change, just be careful not to get any dirt into the injectors when you remove the poppet valves at the end of each feed tube. That's about it if it's the CPI, hope it helps.94 AnswerI have gone through 2 EGR ValvesA few times a friend even cleaned one to get it going, It worked for a while but eventually failed. Answerits prolly the egr valve a piece of carbon is prolly holdin it open mine used to do that but i got a gasket made by timeco an it has a screen that stops the carbon from buildin up AnswerIf the check engine light is on, get an obd2 scanner and check out what code is stored in the computer. The scanner will tell you what codes showed up even if the light is now off. The code should tell you exactly what is wrong without guessing.

Where is the blower motor resistor pack on a 1995 gmc jimmy?

Not sure about a 1995 model but on the 1993 model.....

...pop the hood, against the firewall/bulk head on the left you'll see a large black box. There is a connector with 4 wires going to it. There is a (almost) diamond shape piece of plastic with 2 bolts at each corner that the 4 wires are connected to. Remove those 2 bolts and lift out the resistor pack.

Hope this helps.

Should you signal when you don't see any vehicles around?

Yes, you should always signal, even if YOU don't SEE any other vehicles around. There are a couple of reasonable and legitimate reasons for doing this. 1. Most traffic codes REQUIRE signals to indicate a driver's intention to take certain actions while driving. The codes do NOT negate the need to signal. 2. Depending on many factors YOUR FAILURE to SEE another "vehicle around" does not mean that there isn't one, or more. 3. Signaling your intention to make an intended driving action may well prevent a collision, and save lives [including your own!].

What would make the car not get fuel all the time?

The biggest problem with fuel starts at the fuel pump. Usually if you just turn the ignition on without starting the vehicle you can hear it turn on. Other than that maybe one of your fuses are blown for your fuel pump. Your fuel filter could be clogged or a number of things. You just have to check the fuel pump and see if you are getting gas to the injectors. There is a fuel shutoff button on most of the newer vehicles if you hit something or hit a bump real hard. Hope I answered your question.

Where is the turn signal flasher on a 1995 GMC Jimmy?

I just answered a question about fixing the flasher, so I'll pearoast it here. It will answer your question, too. By "changing the flasher", I am assuming you mean the emergency flasher switch, or the turn signal switch. In either case, it is an integrated unit, along with cruise control (if you have it) on the steering column. Fixing it, in this case, means replacing it. Your best bet is to buy a replacement from a junkyard. When I did mine, I had to buy an entire steering column and take the unit from that; the yard wouldn't sell me the signal unit alone. Even then, it only cost me $80 - a bargain. The process isn't hard, but I couldn't explain it well enough to do it justice. It boils down to basically this: 1) Disconnect the battery and remove the airbag fuse. 2) Remove the airbag from the steering wheel. (Be careful!) 3) Remove the steering wheel and drop it from it's mounting bolts. 4) Remove the plastic housing. 5) Disconnect the signal unit and mount the new one. 6) Put it back the way you found it. I PROBABLY MISSED A STEP OR THREE! Get a good manual (I use Haynes) and read it thoroughly before starting a project like this. Good luck to you! Mr. Dog IF YOUR JUST LOOKING TO REPLACE THE FLASHER !!!!!!! the flashers are under the lower dash panels...remove the lower panels then the one under the steering wheel (torx screws). that will give it to you..they(signal and hazard) are approximately just to the left of the ash tray.
