In some cases the desktop shortcut icon to launch Google Earth on Windows computers disappears possibly to due to glitch in auto-updater found in Google Earth versions 6.0. The latest version Google Earth v6.1 announced to have fixed this problem. If it disappears you can 1) manually recreate the desktop short-cut, 2) run a small utility downloaded from google's web site, or 3) upgrade to the latest 6.1 version.

Most land areas in Google Earth are covered in satellite imagery with a resolution of about 15 meters per pixel and highest resolution is 1 inch per pixel. At the highest resolution of once-inch resolution where each pixel represents one inch (or 2.54 centimeters). It won't appear blurry until you descend below 50 feet or so.
Most of the high-resolution imagery is aerial photography taken from aircraft flying at 800-1500 feet rather than from satellites.
See KML in related links to see examples of each resolution.

How is technology used in schools?
The two major ways are what is taught and how it is taught. People used to only have books and blackboards; now they have multiple ways of storing and displaying the information being taught, and many ways of ensuring the standard of it across a large area as well as getting the data around quickly.
Technology in many research areas has bettered our undertsanding of the world, and this is put into the education system keeping students up to date with what is known, not what is now out of place.
How much space does Google Earth take up on your computer?
Google Earth only stores as "small" amount of data cached on the client computer typically 50-100 MB for the base imagery and up to 2GB for the local disk cache depending on the platform.
From reports in 2006, the Google Earth data servers have 70.5 TB for both its map imagery and index data, and Personalized Search uses 4 TB. With the high-resolution Street View imagery added every month, the amount of data will be larger now.
A report in 2016 estimates the total size of the Google Earth database is 3,017 TB or approximately 3 Petabytes not including Street view imagery.

The movie starts with captioning saying that the movie was inspired by a true story. However, when listening to the audio commentary included on the DVD, we hear the Coen brothers admit that the movie is, in fact, purely fictitious. They wanted to see how far they could push the boundaries of fiction, reasoning that if they are telling a story, all parts can be inherently fictitious even if presented as fact.

What is the fastest search engine on the internet?
On a ping test we found:
1) Google 8.29ms
2) bing 15.13ms (2x longer)
3) yahoo 31.9ms (4x Google)
This may be an indication that Google is the fastest search engine.
Ping only measures the "distance" from your computer to another computer on the net. All your test shows is the Google server computers are much "closer" to your computer than the other server computers. It tells nothing of the server computer or search software speed. The search engines themselves tell you how long the search took, use that figure to compare.

How were early geographic land maps made before the advent of modern technology?
These days they are in digital data. A cartographer will manipulate the digital data to revise them. It's possible to create site centred maps in this way.
In the past they were fair drawn and transferred onto printing plates.
To survey a map there are a range of options. Many of the maps today were created by traditional methods as shown below.
1. Stellar observations: to fix them in the right place in the world
2. Triangulation (at different precisions, depending on the size of the map): to create a framework
3. Traversing: to create control stations in populated areas.
4. Detail Survey: to add all the detail required by the map users.
Aerial surveys and GPS make life much easier today.

How can i see an image of my house using a satellite?
Best bet would be to use Google Maps or Google Earth.
Just type in an address from either and it will fly-to that location showing best available aerial or satellite images. With Google Maps you may need to change to the Satellite or Earth View if you're in Map view. Then you can enable Street View to see if high-resolution street-side photographs are available.
There are also alternatives to websites like Google Maps and software like Google Earth. See related questions and related links below for alternatives.
If you cannot find what you're looking for and want to purchase high resolution images then there are a number of image providers such as those that provide imagery to Google (e.g. DigitalGlobe, GeoEye). Try doing an Internet search for satellite and aerial imagery.

Where does the budget making process begin?
The stages in a budgeting process normally start with a communication from the centre as to what the budget policy is for the year with guidelines and briefing notes. You then identify the limiting factor that will restrict performance, and in most companies that is the level of demand. So the first element that you tend to prepare in a budget is the sales budget.
