The Government of Saudi Arabia (the Royal Family) is supposed to be allied with the United States. The Saudi's were not harboring or creating WMD's and appear to be cracking down on their extremists sects. The Saudi's are not percieved as a threat to global stability even though many Jihadi Salafis come from that country.

The ramifications of any "profit making enterprise" is having the region of operations become so dangerous or unstable that not only are profits endangered, but leaving the area with THOSE profits in hand become impossible. Another words, for a capitalistic venture; if a company makes money, then cuts and runs before unstability returns, then they have done well.

If they make capital, but don't get out while the "gettings good", then they lose what they made. True with anything, anywhere...timing. Other than with that region, an economy might collapse while working elsewhere...there goes the profit margin. Timing!

Turkey is in conflict with Syria and Iraq, because the Euphrates river starts in Turkey and runs through Syria and Iraq. Turkey is placing dams on the river to generate hydroelectric power, but this is actively preventing Syria and Iraq from getting sufficient water arriving downstream.

Although there are some arranged marriages, a couple must agree before entering into it, and there are very low divorce rates in Iraq, though it is acceptable and fairly easy under Islamic doctrine. Generosity is highly valued in Iraqi culture, and it is seen as rude to snub someone asking a favor. This is heightened especially during the month of Ramadan, when it is necessary to give zakat or donations to the poor. Many families, rich and poor alike, cook for the homeless, or even invite them to dinner. Some prepare plates of baklavah or a dish of kebob to take to them.
